Chapter 128: Lupin pack - 23

Silas’s POV

I slightly opened my eyes and turned my head towards Theron. He was already looking at me with those glimmering golden eyes while holding my hand. A gentle smile spread across his lips as he gazed at me.

"Shorty, how are you feeling now?"

If I think about it, I probably still have a fever because I feel like I’m literally steaming. My hands are getting sweaty, and the one Theron is holding feels too warm, so I pull my hand back from his and place both hands on my stomach, one on top of the other.

I was lying straight when suddenly, I heard a ding—a notification sound coming from Theron’s phone. He checked what it was, and my eyes stayed on him.

That’s when I remembered—there’s no signal here. So how is Theron getting a notification now? Or... did what the king said come true? Were they really working on bringing the signal back? Did they succeed?

"Is the signal back?" I asked in a low voice.

"Nope, it was just my alarm. It’s my nap time."

Nap time? So he sets an alarm for naps? Well, I don’t really do that. I just take a nap whenever I feel like it.

Just then, it hit me—Velric had been really quiet. That’s not like him. When I glanced at him, I saw he was asleep, his head resting on Theron’s hand.

"I am feeling totally fine."

"Shorty, is he your child?"

When Theron suddenly asked that question, I was caught off guard and didn’t know what to say.

"Answer me, Shorty."

"Why do you want to know? He’s just a survivor who lost his parents, and I found him."

Luckily, Theron believed what I said. He nodded and looked at Velric with pitiful eyes. Then, suddenly, he picked Velric up and placed him on his lap, letting him sleep more comfortably.

Even though I’ve only met three brothers so far, I can already tell that each of them has a completely different personality.

Damon is like a mature man who always points out whenever you do something wrong and acts as if he’s the only one who’s always right.

But despite that, he’s a great businessman and a true gentleman. He has a kind of potential that’s rare to see in young people these days.

One thing I’ve noticed is that Damon is strong—he already has impressive strength, but he becomes incredibly powerful when he removes his glasses.

The moment he takes them off, he shows no mercy. I saw it firsthand when I first arrived here, and we were attacked by the temple people.

That was when Damon put on his glasses and beat that guy so mercilessly that even his own family might not recognize his face anymore.

But despite that, Damon is a good person, and I won’t judge him for what happened in the past few days.

And then there’s Theron. Yes, he’s good-looking, but he also has a funny personality. I’m sure that whoever lives with him will never get bored—because I’ve experienced it myself.

Theron always speaks gently to everyone, but what I remember most about him is how he provokes his opponents. When his opponent finally charges at him, he just smiles.

And when he starts smiling in that creepy way... it’s a sure sign that something bad is about to happen. His strength is incredible, yet he always jokes around and lies playfully, despite being so powerful.

If another Alpha had Theron’s kind of strength, they’d probably be full of themselves, acting all high and mighty.

But Theron isn’t like that. He stays humble and simple, never revealing his true strength unless absolutely necessary.

And last but not least, Kael.

From what I’ve noticed, Kael has a bad temper. He gets angry easily and always acts like he’s throwing a tantrum. He was actually the first brother I met, yet he seems to hate me so much. I still don’t even know why.

I didn’t know how strong he was before, but when I saw him shift today, I had a hunch—I’m not sure, but I think Kael can shift at will, even without a full moon. He’s powerful enough to kill the wolf that stood in front of him, yet he held back. Instead of killing it, he simply knocked it down.

He’s actually about 20% nice out of 100%. Even though he hates me, he still steps in to help when I need it. Like when we were in that street, and that Alpha was forcing me to go with him—Kael stepped in and fought him. And later that night, he was waiting outside the kitchen so I wouldn’t feel lonely. If I ignore his bad temper, overall, he’s actually a good person.

It’s a little sad that I haven’t met their fourth brother yet, but these three have already helped me so much. First, Damon gave me a new motto for my life. Second, Theron saved my life twice. And third, Kael—hard on the outside but soft on the inside, I think.

And just then, the ambulance engine suddenly started, making me flinch. The ambulance doors also opened, and Kael and Lysander stepped inside, sitting down beside Theron.

As the ambulance began to move, I instinctively tried to sit up, but Lysander gently pushed me down.

"Silas, don’t get up. Just rest."

I nodded and remained lying down.

Now that I think about it, my first impression of Lysander wasn’t that great. When he first came to meet me to see who would be working with him, I mistook him for a bully senior. But in reality, Lysander is a really nice co-star—someone you feel comfortable around.

Aside from those three brothers, Lysander is the only one who has helped me many times. And now... I think I have feelings for him. He treated me in a way that felt special, but when I saw him acting the same way with others, my heart broke.

I wanted to avoid Lysander, too. But I don’t think I’ll be able to—not until I actually see him with someone else.
