Chapter 126: Lupin pack - 21
Silas’s POV
When I was helping others, I had a strange feeling, like something bad was about to happen. That’s why I was being cautious.
Just then, I felt a touch on my shoulder. When I turned around, I saw Damon, Theron, Lysander, and Kael standing there. Velric was in Theron’s arms.
Seeing them, I was shocked. How did they even get here when all the flights were canceled due to the heavy weather forecast?
"What are you all doing here?" I asked.
Lysander stepped forward and held my hand.
"Silas, do you know how worried I was about you? I’ve been calling you for the past few days, but you never picked up."
I pulled my hand back from Lysander’s grip.
"I was sent here to correct my mistakes. There was no signal, so I don’t think I got any calls from you."
As I spoke, Lysander turned and glared at Damon.
"Mr. Damon, is this how you treat your own artist? You sent him far away from our pack, and even here, he ended up in trouble—all because of you."
"Lysander, I had no idea things would turn out like this. Everything was fine, and this pack was peaceful. That’s why I sent him here—I gave him a vacation."
A vacation, he says. But when he told me to leave that pack and stay here for three months, it didn’t feel like a vacation at all.
He sent me here as punishment for not apologizing to his brother, Kael.
To be honest, I wasn’t happy at all seeing all four of them in front of me. I understood why those three were together—they were brothers.
But why was Lysander with them? It’s not like he came for me. He’s kind to everyone. He doesn’t treat me any differently, unlike how I once thought he would.
Just then, I noticed Velric. And the moment I looked at him, I knew that if he spoke, he would call me Mumma. So before he could say anything, I took him from Theron.
"Excuse me, I don’t have time to talk. I have other things to do."
Saying that, I walked away with Velric.
In truth, I had nothing else to do—it was just an excuse to leave. I didn’t want to talk any further, nor did I want to see their faces.
I couldn’t just pretend like nothing had happened. They might not have done anything to me directly, but just seeing them made my wounds ache.
Even if they hadn’t hurt me intentionally, their presence reopened old scars.
As I was walking, I suddenly heard footsteps rushing behind me. When I turned around, it was Theron. He caught up and started walking beside me.
"What are you doing? Didn’t you hear me? I don’t have time to talk to you."
"Shorty, by any chance... are you sulking because I haven’t contacted you for the past few weeks?"
"Like hell I’m sulking right now! Obviously I am not. "
It doesn’t matter to me whether he contacts me or not. But so far, Theron has only helped me.
He never said the kind of things that came out of Damon’s mouth.
I never expected Damon to say those things to me. It was unimaginable.
But they say that the things we never expect are exactly what end up happening.
But right now, I’m kind of confused. Ever since this child came into my life... I mean, just since last night.
"Silas, why aren’t you saying anything? And who is this child? He was calling us Dad, you know?"
"He’s just a child who doesn’t know anything. Whatever he calls you, don’t take it seriously."
This kid is seriously weird. Why the hell is he calling them Dad and Papa? If he’s calling me Mumma, he shouldn’t be calling anyone Papa or Daddies—unless I tell him to.
I glanced at Theron while gently pushing Velric’s head onto my shoulder.
"By the way, how did you even get here? All the flights were canceled when I came because of the heavy weather, weren’t they?"
"It was just a piece of cake for us. We have our own private jet, so no one can stop us. And this pack? Not a chance."
I’ve always heard that rich people don’t need to worry about anything—and today, I saw it firsthand. Flights were canceled, so they just took their private jet and came anyway.
"Hmm, your brother was here, so of course you’d come."
"Why would I come here for him? I came especially for you. I was so worried about you. But how would you know? You’ve been here all this time. Right, shorty?"
He and his teasing... I know how much of a jokester he really is.
"And you know, shorty, guess what happened when we were coming here?"
"You’re going to tell me anyway, even if I don’t ask. So, go ahead—what happened?"
"When we were on our way here, I wanted to go skydiving. But we didn’t have parachutes. So, do you know what I did?"
"Obviously, you canceled the idea. Because without a parachute, how would you skydive?"
That was the only logical answer. How could he possibly skydive without a parachute?
"Wrong! Why would I cancel my idea just because of a mere parachute? I did skydive. I took my T-shirt—it was big enough to be a parachute—and I jumped. That feeling was amazing! I was flying through the air, with the sky all around me and the whole world beneath me."
I know he’s joking. He literally can’t go a day without making something up.
"Can’t you be logical for once? I know you’re joking right now."
"Haha... You got me, shorty!"
Got me? Anyone who hears him would instantly know he’s joking—his jokes are beyond ridiculous.
But I guess I was wrong because, suddenly, Velric glanced at Theron with wide eyes.
"Were you really flying in the sky, surrounded by clouds, with the whole world beneath you?"
Huh? This kid... He doesn’t realize that Theron is joking. He actually thinks Theron was telling the truth. In his eyes, Theron is probably a superhero now.
