Chapter 111: Lupin pack - 6

Silas’s POV

"Hey, Kael, remove your hand from my shoulder right now."

As I spoke, instead of removing his hand, Kael suddenly pulled me toward him, making that guy’s hand jerk off. I was surprised by Kael’s sudden action.

"Hey, I want him tonight," the guy said, grabbing my hand again.

But this time, Kael pushed me back, grabbed the guy by his collar, and started punching him.

In the blink of an eye, there was blood—it was coming from that guy. Kael was hitting him so violently, like he was ready to kill him.

Everything was happening so fast that I couldn’t understand what was going on.

A crowd had gathered around us to watch the fight, but no one stepped in to stop them.

I took a step forward and grabbed Kael’s hand, trying to stop him from killing that guy.

"Hey, Kael! Do you want to kill him? Stop it right now!"

But Kael wasn’t listening. No matter how many times I called him, he didn’t even glance at me—he just kept hitting that guy. The man looked half-dead, his eyes barely open.

I yanked Kael’s hand. "Kael! Can’t you hear me? Stop it!"

Finally, he glanced at me. I pulled him off the guy—he had been literally sitting on him while punching him.

"Kael, calm down, will you?"

Kael touched his forehead, his eyes scanning the crowd like he was searching for the next person to hit.

I grabbed both of his hands and made him look at me.

He was breathing heavily, his chest rising and falling rapidly. Just from his panting, I could tell how furious he was.

"Kael, take a deep breath. In and out. You’ll feel better."

I guided him, trying to help him calm down. At first, he didn’t listen, but then he slowly started taking deep breaths—in and out, in and out.

After a few minutes, he finally looked calmer, almost like a different person.

"Have you calmed down now?" I asked.

He nodded, then suddenly pulled his hands back and looked away. I understood.

He didn’t like me touching his hands—but he was the one who touched my shoulder first.

So, in a way, we were even now.

Suddenly, five or six guys showed up. I guessed they were that guy’s friends. Seeing their friend in that condition, they looked shocked, but they didn’t know who had hit him yet since they had just arrived.

Without wasting time, I grabbed Kael’s hand and quietly left. I didn’t want to get involved in any more trouble.

I knew that if those guys found out Kael was the one who beat up their friend, they’d definitely be ready to fight him. And Kael? He’d probably be like, Yeah, come at me. I’ll fight you all.

I mean, Kael acts like he’s some legendary WWE fighter—always ready to throw punches anytime, anywhere, at anyone.

Of course, we didn’t actually leave. Shine was still waiting in line, so how could we? We just moved a little further away—somewhere we could still see Shine, and he could see us too.

Standing there, I kept my eyes on Shine, making sure no one was bothering him. But in the midst of all that, I completely forgot to let go of Kael’s hand.

"Hey, let go of my hand right now."

Hearing his voice, I quickly released his hand and awkwardly scratched the back of my neck. Of course, it felt a little embarrassing.

"Umm... Kael... thank you for fighting for me."

He fought that guy because of me, so it was my duty to thank him. But as soon as I did, his eyes widened like he was completely shocked to hear that from me.

"What are you planning now? Why are you thanking me? And listen, I didn’t fight for you. That guy was getting under my skin, that’s why I hit him. It had nothing to do with you."

Oh, really? Like, how exactly was that guy getting under his skin? That guy was obviously talking to me. He didn’t even glance at Kael.

Whatever. If he’s saying he didn’t fight for me, then fine—I’ll just think the same.

Just then, I heard a howling sound, like someone was shifting into their true form. But how was that possible? Today wasn’t a full moon night.

"Did you hear that howling?" I asked Kael.

But his face told me he hadn’t heard anything. So instead of asking him again, I just started glancing around, trying to find the source of sound.

But I didn’t find anything. Just then, my phone vibrated in my pocket. When I took it out, I saw Shine’s name on the screen—he was calling me.

Glancing at Shine, I realized he couldn’t find us, which was why he was calling.

I answered the call and told him to look ahead, then waved my hand. The moment he saw us, he quickly came over.

"What happened? Why are you guys standing here?"

I knew Shine hadn’t heard anything that had happened back there.

He had been facing forward the entire time, and we were a little further away—actually, a lot further away.

Plus, the crowd in the line was talking loudly, making it impossible for him to hear anything.

"The thing is... we were just uncomfortable in the crowd, so we came here to wait for you," I lied.

Shine didn’t question it and simply accepted my answer. With that, we left from there.

On the way back, we sat in the same positions as before. As I gazed outside, I noticed something strange—the road was eerily quiet, almost too empty, like our car was the only one there.

I was wondering what was going on when suddenly, I saw dark shadow darting from one building to another. It startled me because... it didn’t look human shadow at all.

I shook my head, trying to dismiss it. Maybe it was just my imagination playing tricks on me because of the night.

And then, I noticed something else—a dark liquid spilled across the road.

At first, it looked like blood. But that was impossible, right? It had to be just water.

I must be hallucinating... because there’s no way blood could be scattered all over the road like that.
