Chapter 109: Lupin pack - 4

Silas’s POV

Hearing the knock on my door, I quickly got off my bed and walked toward it. When I opened the door, I saw Kael standing there.

"What?" I asked, annoyed.

I was really pissed off seeing him at my door.

"Nothing," he said casually before turning around and walking back to his room.

I just stood there, dumbfounded. What was that? Why the hell did he knock if he wasn’t going to say anything? Does he enjoy annoying me that much? He really is a bastard.

Frustrated, I slammed my door loudly—just to make sure Kael knew I was pissed. If he dared to bother me again, I swear I would’ve slammed his head against the door instead.

I went back to bed, and this time, when I fell asleep, no one disturbed me.

By the time I woke up, it was already evening. I got out of bed, stretched, and headed downstairs.

As I reached the kitchen, I saw Shine cooking something.

"What are you making, Shine?" I asked, scratching my head as I sat on a chair.

"I was thinking of making fried chicken. Do you like chicken, Silas?"

"Of course I do! Fried chicken is my best buddy. I could eat it every day for the rest of my life without getting bored."

I said it because it was true. Chicken is the best.

"Haha, I didn’t know you liked fried chicken that much, but I’ll keep that in mind," Shine chuckled.

"Do you need help with anything? Just say the word, and I’ll help."

Shine was making dinner for us—that was already a great thing. That’s why I offered to help. But he shook his head.

That was disappointing. I was all ready to assist, but I guess he didn’t need any help. Looks like he can handle everything on his own.

I don’t know much about cooking. But if I did, I’m sure I would’ve been a great chef.

As I sat there, I suddenly heard footsteps. When I glanced back, it was Kael coming downstairs. I rolled my eyes the moment I saw him—just his presence was enough to annoy me.

"Oh, what are you making, Shine?" he asked, pulling out the chair beside me and sitting down.

I ignored him and focused on my phone, but I could feel his gaze on me.

Without turning my head, I shifted my eyes slightly—and caught him staring.

"What are you looking at?" I asked in an annoyed tone.

"What? They’re my eyes. I can look wherever I want. Why are you even talking to me? Oh, don’t tell me you can’t live unless you talk to me."

What the actual hell? I can’t live without talking to him? What kind of joke is that? If anything, my life would be way more peaceful if I never had to talk to him again.

"No one is interested in talking to you. You’re the one who came and sat next to me, so I think we both know who actually wants to talk to whom," I shot back, giving him a side-eye.

"Oh? Do you wanna fight with me now? If yes, then be my guest. I’m always ready to fight. Let’s see who runs their mouth the most by the end," he challenged.

For a second, when he said fight, I actually thought he meant WWE-style fighting.

But no, of course not. He was talking about some childish argument—just throwing nonsense back and forth.

That’s not even a fight. That’s just bickering.

"I’m not interested," I said lazily. "But don’t be discouraged. You can always fight with yourself, okay?"

To make my point, I even gave him a little fighting! sign like I was cheering him on.

His face said it all—he was furious.

"Silas, don’t you think you’re crossing the line here?"

Oh? He’s finally calling me by my name? Looks like he’s getting serious now.

"Was there a line here? How come I didn’t see it?"

I pretended to look around, acting as if I was searching for some invisible line—just to piss him off even more.

And as expected, he took the bait like the hot-headed fool he was.

With a loud bang, he slammed both hands on the table in anger.

Watching his reaction, I couldn’t help but think—this guy seriously has anger issues.

He really needs to visit a psychiatrist before he ends up completely alone.

His family might tolerate him since they’ve known him since childhood, but why would outsiders put up with his attitude?

Either they’d ignore him or fight back. No one’s going to deal with his temper tantrums forever.

"Kael, can’t you talk like a normal person just for once?"

The moment I said that, he suddenly kicked the chair I was sitting on.

I jolted as the whole chair shook violently. I almost fell, but just in time, I grabbed onto the table and managed to steady myself.

Damn... his kick was powerful. Even the chair was about to topple over.

"Are you out of your fucking mind? What if I had fallen? Do you want me to crawl around like a cripple now?"

I shouted, my voice echoing through the villa. That finally caught Shine’s attention. He had been ignoring our usual bickering, but this time, he stepped out of the kitchen and walked over to the dining table.

"What happened, Silas? Are you okay?"

Hearing his concern, I immediately spilled everything—how Kael had kicked my chair like a damn lunatic, nearly making me fall.

Hearing me, Shine glanced at Kael.

"Kael, can you behave like a mature person? Silas is only 18. He’s much younger than you."

At Shine’s words, I suddenly remembered—yeah, I’m just 18, and Kael is way older than me. He’s practically an old man compared to me.

"Hey, old man, did you hear what Shine just said?"

I smirked, calling him old man on purpose because, well... it suited him perfectly.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!"

He suddenly shouted. I guess I was right—he really is an old man. That’s why he’s getting angry now.
