Chapter 105: Take a break

Silas’s POV

"Then Boss, I think you should know that you can’t force your own artist to apologize to someone."

"Kael is my brother, not just ’someone.’ Slapping him was wrong. Apologize to him right now."

Damon has changed—totally changed. What is he doing? From his perspective, it might be right, but from mine, it’s not.

Of course, everyone favors their own family and friends. But when we know our brother is wrong, we should accept it. So why is he forcing me to apologize to his brother instead?

"Look at his attitude. You’ve spoiled him so much that he doesn’t even listen to you anymore," Kael suddenly said.

"Excuse me, but I don’t want to talk to you, so don’t interfere," I replied, my eyes glaring at him.

Leaning back against the sofa, I kept glaring at him. But as I did, I noticed that Damon’s entire attention was on me.

So, I stopped glaring at Kael and started looking around instead.

"I’m not going to calm down until he publicly apologizes to me. I want him to post his apology online."

I have no idea what I ever did to make Kael hate me this much. But seeing his behavior today, I think that slap was worth it. Honestly, I should have hit him more.

"Silas, you’re crossing the line here and forgetting your place. Is this why I hired you in my company? So you could disrespect my family? If that’s the case, then I really have spoiled you too much—so much that now you’re biting the hand that has fed you."

My eyes were on Damon as he spoke, and I couldn’t help but think—am I really biting his hand? But I didn’t hit him, though.

There was nothing I could say in response to Damon’s words. I just stayed quiet and listened.

"And what you did yesterday was reckless—hitting someone at the party like that. If you knew something was wrong, you should have kept your distance. That party wasn’t just

any party—it was the biggest event. You knew that."

Of course, I knew that. How could I not? But those people messed with me first. That’s why I hit them.

Did I really do something wrong?

After that, Damon said a lot—so much.

Why did I raise my hands against women? Against men too? Why did I cause a whole scene by fighting?

And on top of that, why did I pour wine on Ciel? He said I disrespected everyone, that I was like a rabid dog, picking fights with everyone there.

And then there was Jeren. How I hugged him in front of the washroom, how someone took a picture of it.

It was my carelessness. And yeah, I even slapped my boss’s brother. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have done this. I shouldn’t have done that.

And that’s why everyone is talking shit about me online.

Seriously? This is the same Damon I used to know?

Maybe I really was getting arrogant, thinking things were all nice and easy. This—this is what a real boss-employee relationship looks like.

And you know what? I don’t even have to feel bad anymore. Damon changing is actually a good thing for me.

And even after hearing Damon’s whole lecture, I still didn’t apologize to Kael.

"Silas, I think you need to take a break now—a long one. Three whole months."

A break? What does he mean by that? I don’t quite understand.

"Mr. Damon, what do you mean by taking a break? And for three months?"

When Damon explained, I was a little shocked.

He wanted to send me to the Lupin Pack, a place far from here. That pack was under the Bloodfang Pack, meaning they were basically their underlings.

And Lupin Pack wasn’t just any place—it was where all the scientific research was done.

Damon wanted me to stay there for three months, long enough for all the rumors to die down, for people to forget. Then, I could return.

Until then, I was supposed to leave and live in the Lupin Pack.

But that pack was completely new to me. How was I supposed to live there?

So many questions filled my mind, but at the same time... maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea.

Going far away from here, leaving everything behind, and living peacefully for a while—yeah, that actually sounded nice.

"Okay, boss. As you say, I’ll do it," I said.

But Shine’s face made it clear—he wasn’t happy with Damon’s decision.

"Mr. Damon, I think you’re being biased here. Just to protect your brother, you’re sending your own artist far away? What if something happens to Silas there?" Shine asked, looking dead serious—way more serious than me.

"Nothing will happen," Damon replied calmly. "The Lupin Pack is a very peaceful place. He can live there peacefully and enjoy daily life. I’ll take care of all the arrangements for him."

"And you can go with him if you want," Damon added.

"Okay then, I’ll go with Silas," Shine said without hesitation.

To be honest, I never expected Shine to come with me. That pack was far away, and from what I knew, it was small and not exactly the kind of place someone like him would want to stay.

So why would Shine choose to come with me?

That was a surprise.

"Your flight is in two days. You can leave now," Damon said.

Hearing that, Shine and I quickly left his office. As soon as we got into the car, Shine turned to me.

"Silas, why didn’t you resist? Why did you just say yes to Mr. Damon’s proposal? He’s sending you far away—you know that. And it’s not good."

Yeah, it was far away. But if I stayed here, I’d have to keep seeing Damon’s face after everything that happened last night.

So honestly, leaving felt like the best option.

"Shine, it’s good to take a break once in a while, right?"

I said that with a smile—a creepy one.
