Chapter 6284: The Aura of Chu Feng’s Father

Some time later, Chu Feng opened his eyes.

They were still in the teleportation passageway, but Chu Feng sensed spirit power pulsations. The red-haired woman was secretly releasing powerful surges of spirit power to oppose some kind of power outside.

Soon, Little Fishy opened her eyes and curiously assessed her surroundings too. She couldn’t sense the spirit power, but she sensed that something was amiss even though she couldn’t put her finger on what it was.

Thus, she smiled at Chu Feng and whispered, “Big brother, are we going through somewhere special?”

“Seems like it,” Chu Feng replied with a smile.

Little Fishy was always this radiant. Chu Feng felt his mood lifting just by looking at her.

The red-haired woman turned to Chu Feng and Little Fishy. “You can sense it?”

Those words prompted the others to open their eyes too.

“Elder, are you breaching a formation?” Chu Feng asked.

“Yes, I have breached it. The rest is up to you.”

The red-haired woman waved her sleeves, and the teleportation passageway abruptly shattered. Chu Feng and the others flew out of the teleportation passageway atop the cloud.

A massive realm appeared before their eyes. They couldn’t tell if this realm was real or a formation; they didn’t even know where they were.

But that didn’t matter now.

A palace could be spotted in front of them. Beneath them was a huge mountain range, with each mountain spanning at least a million meters from one end to the other. In comparison, the palace was of normal size, making it inconspicuous amid the mountain range.

Yet, Chu Feng and the others’ attention was still drawn to it right away.

The palace was constructed out of blue stone, and its shape was unassuming too. Yet, it commanded an inviolable air. On top of that, it also emanated an extremely old aura that hinted that it was from the Immemorial Era.

This was likely the place that the red-haired woman wanted them to enter.

“This palace is n-n-not simple,” Wang Qiang blurted out in excitement.

Such places usually signified great fortuitous encounters.

“Elder, is there anything we need to take note of?” Chu Feng looked at the red-haired woman.

“Not at all. Just do your best. You can go now,” the red-haired woman replied.

A surge of energy suddenly enveloped Chu Feng and the others. By the time they realized what was happening, they were already standing at the palace’s entrance.

Sensing their presence, the palace’s heavy stone doors slowly creaked open. A long passageway awaited them inside.

“I knew there was s-s-something more inside! It can’t be as s-s-small as it looks on the outside,” Wang Qiang exclaimed.

While everyone was observing the palace, Chu Feng suddenly turned around and warily scanned his surroundings.

“What’s wrong?” Xianhai Shaoyu asked.

“Elder.” Chu Feng turned to the red-haired woman in the sky and asked via voice transmission, “Are there other people in here?”

He sensed someone observing them for a moment there, but the gaze only lasted for a brief moment. The only thing Chu Feng was certain of was that the gaze wasn’t from the red-haired woman.

“Do what you have to. I’ll ensure your safety,” the red-haired woman said confidently.

Little Fishy and the others felt stifled. They knew that Chu Feng must have communicated with the red-haired woman, but they chose not to probe since Chu Feng must have his reason for not speaking aloud.

Little Fishy turned to Chu Feng and asked, “Big brother, should we enter?”

The others also looked at Chu Feng. They viewed him as their leader.

“Let’s go,” Chu Feng said, and the group entered the palace.

The doors remained open behind them.

The passageway was much deeper than they had expected. Despite their swift advancement, they couldn’t see the end of the passageway even after walking for a while. They were walking in a straight line, yet they could no longer see the stone doors behind them.

This showed just how exaggeratedly long the corridor was.

“Why h-h-haven’t we reached the other end of the passageway yet? Could we have unknowingly s-s-stumbled into a labyrinth?” Wang Qiang glanced at Chu Feng as he asked.

He was inclined to trust Chu Feng’s judgment.

“It doesn’t feel like a labyrinth. This passageway just seems to be exceptionally long. Let’s hurry,” Chu Feng said.

The group sped up, but despite traveling at full speed, it still took them a while before they finally saw the end of the passageway and found themselves faced with a pair of massive doors.

These stone doors were similar to the ones at the entrance; despite their unassuming appearances, it was impossible to see past them.

“W-w-we finally reached the end!” Wang Qiang exclaimed.

“Indeed. Is there a reason the passageway is so long?” Little Fishy was bewildered.

They had been to countless remnants, but this place still felt unusual to them.

“Forget it. Let’s head in and take a look,” Xianhai Shaoyu said as he stepped forward and pushed the stone doors open.

Beyond the stone doors was a circular hall with six doors. At the center of the hall was a pillar covered in protrusions. Each protrusion was inscribed with an ancient talisman.

But what was more eye-catching were the words inscribed on the ground in front of the entrance—’Heed my advice. The items here are not to be claimed. Retreat now.’

The crowd was stunned.

Everything in here gave off the Immemorial Era’s aura except for these words. These words were left very recently, not only in this era but perhaps just a few years ago.

But there was something about the words that further shocked Chu Feng.

“Eggy, these words seem to be from my father,” Chu Feng told Eggy.

“Are you for certain? Do you sense your father’s aura?” Eggy asked.

“It is so faint that I can’t be certain of it, but it resembles my father’s aura,” Chu Feng replied.

“It should be from your father. Your father is the god of tomb-raiding, after all,” Eggy remarked.

“The god of tomb-raiding?” Chu Feng was confused.

“Haven’t you noticed it? Your father’s trail can always be found in the better remnants. I think you’re already quite lucky. If not for the red-haired woman bringing you here, you wouldn’t have known that there’s a remnant here.

“Yet, your father found such a place. Just how incredibly lucky must he have been? I even wonder if he has some fortuitous encounter that gives him the location of most hidden remnants and treasures in the world. No wonder your father is so powerful. He has taken all the good things for himself and left only the crumbs behind for you.”

Eggy’s analysis sounded like nonsense, but Chu Feng thought it made sense.

Chu Feng walked up to touch the words. The lingering aura flowed up his palm and into his body, allowing him to better sense the faint aura.

“It’s indeed my father’s aura,” Chu Feng said.

“Did you sense anything else?” Eggy asked.

“I’m afraid not. He only left these words behind.”

“Could your father have intentionally left his aura here because he thought that you might come here in the future?”

“It doesn’t seem like it. My father would have constructed a formation to provide me with more information if he wanted to stop me from coming here, but that’s not the case here. These words probably serve to warn others who stumble in here. However, I have a guess,” Chu Feng said.

“What is it?” Eggy asked.

“My father might have sensed danger, so he steered clear of everything in here and left only these words infused with his aura behind,” Chu Feng replied.
