Chapter 90: 25 episodes Entrusted

Lynch stood in the boiling pool water, yet felt no pain. His mind was in a daze, feeling as if everything in front of him was covered by a blanket of white clouds.

A sharp pain emanated from his right index finger, the first sensation he received upon awakening. He raised his hand to look and saw that the Healing Ring given to him by his mentor was glowing brightly and trembling violently, causing his entire right hand to convulse as if suffering from an epileptic seizure.

The Healing Ring was releasing powerful energy in an attempt to repair Lynch’s body, but within Lynch resided the power of the Ancient Great Arcanist. The energy used by this Repair Ring made by his mentor was Magic Net Energy. These two types of energy, although stemming from the same source, were conflicting fiercely within his body.

Lynch immediately thought of the Chain Lightning Scroll, which had been imbued with a tremendous power due to mixed energies, and the thought of that explosive force potentially reenacting within him made him break out in a cold sweat.

With a mere thought, the mage halted his ring’s healing effect. The sudden absence of resistance allowed the Magic Origin Power to burst forth, generating a violent airstream centered on the mage, scattering the room’s mist without a trace.

The immense energy shock made Lynch’s internal organs feel as if they were being pounded by a heavy hammer and then churned by a spiked Wolf Fang Club, creating intense pain. He felt a sweetness in his throat and spat out a mouthful of blood onto the ground.

The two Angels looked in confusion at the weak mage before them, their wings flapping amidst the fierce wind.

The mage wiped the blood from his mouth and looked at the two Angels in front of him. The blackness of the Eye of Insight reappeared in his eyes.

The two Angels immediately felt a powerful probing force piercing through their strong defenses and stabbing deeply into the core of their souls.

Deluo and Nimo, who had just been blown down by the forceful wind from behind, got up and saw Lynch emerging from the pool. Although the mage still appeared very weak and wobbled unsteadily, it was clear he had regained his awareness.

The two were overjoyed and ran over to embrace the mage, with Nimo continuously wiping away tears of excitement with Lynch’s robe.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" Lynch and the Angels simultaneously asked this question.

"Answer my question first!" Both parties said in unison once more.

Deluo turned, clutching a pillar of ice, and coldly eyed the two towering Angels.

Lynch looked at these two "uninvited guests," his mind whirling with many thoughts. Regardless of how he speculated about the reasons for the Angels’ arrival here, one point he couldn’t avoid: the three on his side were certainly no match for the Angels.

"My name is Lynch, a mage on a journey. I don’t know how I ended up here; perhaps my friends brought me here to save me." Lynch retracted the Eye of Insight, aware that this power could be easily detected by beings of a higher tier than him and potentially misunderstood as a hostile act. The mage spread his hands and spoke in Heavenly Language: "I am not your enemy."

The two Angels exchanged a glance, and the female Angel blurted out, "Is your name by any chance..."

Before she could finish, the other Angel interrupted her, "Mage Lynch, it is like this. We are in pursuit of a powerful Primordial Energy, which appeared several years ago, was incredibly evil, and caused significant harm. However, in recent years, it vanished without a trace. We only sensed its presence again recently, so we hurriedly rushed here. We didn’t expect to find you here."

"So you believed I was that evil power?" the mage asked, puzzled.

The female Angel coughed lightly to cover a trace of embarrassment on her face: "That power is very evil and strong. We were initially aiming to act preemptively by all means possible, and thus did not investigate thoroughly, leading to your misunderstanding. We apologize." She released the tension on her bowstring, and the great blue bow disappeared from her hand. "We just used a spell to investigate, and you are not the one we are looking for."

Lynch was taken aback. These two Angels were indeed formidable, and presumably have yet to exhibit their full strength. Although he hadn’t regained his previous spellcasting abilities, his sharp sense for various spell effects hadn’t faded. The fact that they could clandestinely cast spells on him without his awareness meant they could just as easily use other spells on him without his knowledge—even potentially lethal ones.
