Chapter 67: Episode 14 Encounter_2
The only difference was that amidst the silver stamens, a black thin sword thrust forward.
Because the Oily Technique caused Zilvra’s attack to pause slightly, her thin sword couldn’t reach the height to stab Lynch’s eyes, veering slightly downward, aiming straight for the mage’s throat.
A thick, sturdy refined gold arm was already waiting there, blocking perfectly between the weapon and the vulnerable throat.
"Ding!" The tip of the thin sword pierced half an inch into the arm. The "Black Snake" thin sword, with simple enchantments, was of much higher quality than ordinary weapons. Coupled with Zilvra’s spinning and sprinting speed, it finally pierced half an inch into the refined gold. However, the thin sword couldn’t withstand the impact, torque, and the strong resistance. With a snap, the tip of the sword broke off.
Lynch took a half-step back, and the second spell was immediately cast. It was his favorite Lightning Spell. From the sleeve of his black and purple robe, a white lightning as thick as an arm suddenly shot out, the whole room bursting with dazzling light, the crackling of electric spheres exploding incessantly. The lightning, like an unstoppable torrent, instantly struck Zilvra’s abdomen.
The electric arc of the lightning instantly enveloped the Dark Elf’s body, her chain armor covered with snake-like electric lights crawling, her silver hair floating in the air. Zilvra barely steadied herself, smilingly said, "Don’t you know we Dark Elves have a strong resistance to magic?" At this moment, her expression was full of innocence.
Lynch smiled, took another step back, spread his right hand, and said, "Don’t you know my lightning beam can explode?"
As soon as the mage finished speaking, there was a loud bang, the lightning beam exploded in front of Zilvra. The powerful spell resistance of the Drow Elves allowed her to remain unharmed by the magical current, but the blast’s shockwave felt like a punch to her soft abdomen. Zilvra was sent flying like she was hit by a charging bull, crashing through the door she’d just shut, landing on the floorboards, and then spitting out a mouthful of blood.
However, the Dark Elf did not give up on her actions. Struggling, she got up from the debris-littered floor, drew a dagger from her boot, and rushed straight at Lynch again.
This time, the distance was much farther than with the previous stab; how could the mage let her succeed? Lynch raised his right hand, his index finger pointing at the Dark Elf, chanting a spell softly.
But as he cast the spell, Lynch’s finger slightly withdrew to the side.
A green ray shot from the mage’s fingertip, gently brushing past Zilvra’s shoulder, passing through the strands of her hair, hitting the wall behind her.
Immediately, the wall made a sizzling sound, dark black corrosion energy began to spread from the spell’s point of attack. In no time, the wooden wall was directly burned through, creating a large hole. Now, the hallway could be clearly seen from the room.
"You should leave," Lynch said softly, "you’re not my match."
The previous ray indeed startled Zilvra, her attacks halted. Zilvra lowered the dagger to her side, and with a swoosh, made the weapon disappear into her sleeve. "Why did you spare me?"
"I like to," the mage said slowly, a faint smile on his lips.
"Haha, what a surprising answer: ’I like to’," Zilvra laughed with her mouth wide open, but in an instant she stopped, her expression serious as she said to the mage, "You are powerful, but not yet enough. When the time is right, I’ll come looking for you again."
Zilvra turned and quickly disappeared on the second floor of the inn.
Lynch, using the Eye of Insight, surveyed the entire inn, saw that Zilvra had truly left, and then let out a long sigh, moved the chair in front of him, and sat down.
Deluo and Nimo came in from outside the room. Nimo rushed forward to check if Lynch was hurt, while Deluo giggled, mimicking the mage’s tone, "I like to..." then mimicked Zilvra’s voice, "I’ll come looking for you again..." and laughed holding his stomach.
"Why didn’t you come in to help earlier? You’ve been hiding outside the room for a while, haven’t you?" The mage looked at the overly proud warrior, said irritably.
"Anyway, you could handle it alone, why should we intervene?" Deluo spread his hands, his face full of an unjustly accused expression, "Besides, Zilvra must be interested in you; otherwise, why would she spare you? How dare I interrupt?"
"Huh? So Zilvra didn’t go all out?" Nimo looked at the mage, seeing no trace of injury, sighed in relief, then asked, surprised.
"Yes, she could have thrown daggers at me first, which would have interfered with my spells and prevented them from functioning normally. But she didn’t do that."
"You saw through it long ago, didn’t you? Lynch, what would you do if she really threw a dagger?" Deluo pursued.
"Do you think I would tell you?" Lynch chuckled, avoiding the question.
"Hmph! Keeping secrets, really not being a friend." Deluo waved his hand, then plopped down on the bed in the room, "Lynch, if she didn’t leave in the end, would you really have the heart to kill?"
"But she did leave, didn’t she? Why should I have to kill?"
"I’m saying, if she hadn’t left?"
"But she truly left!" Lynch started playing dumb.
"I’m talking about ’if’! Oh, never mind, I can’t stand you mages’ odd temperament. I’m going to sleep." Deluo grabbed the blanket from the bedside, ready to cover himself and enjoy an afternoon nap.
"Forget it, you stay awake, I’m the one who needs rest." Lynch stood up, walked to another bed, "I haven’t slept for three days. I can hardly hold on."
"If she kept holding back, would you just keep not sleeping?" Deluo turned on his bed, tossing the blanket aside.
"But she acted, didn’t she?" Lynch hummed while pulling the blanket over himself.
"I’m saying what if she didn’t..." Deluo thought for a moment, "Forget it, as if I never asked. Asking things from you guys is such a hassle!"
Lynch answered the warrior with light snoring.
Nimo sat nearby, covering his mouth, quietly laughing.
