The underground rocks always emit a cold aura, yet among them, obsidian is the coldest. Its surface is as smooth and flat as a mirror, requiring no deliberate polishing; the pitch-black rock body resembles a deep universe, always giving a sense of vast depth, as if it truly is like a vacuum capable of absorbing the surrounding heat. Embedded within the rock are tiny white crystals, similar to crystals that can reflect light. In the dim underground, borrowing a trace of faint light, from a distance, those crystals look like stars hanging in the night sky. Lynch, leaning against this beautiful "night", slowly advanced toward the isolated little house.
Without the ability to see through, no one would notice that there is a hollow forming in the middle of the rock, and within this hollow, a room has been artificially carved. The seven people inside the room kept knocking on the stone wall, vigorously chiseling at it with weapons. However, despite their urgency, their actions appeared somewhat faltering, as if they possessed all the strength but were unable to exert it.
"Lack of air!" Lynch quickly used another Wall Penetration Skill scroll. While adventuring in the Underdark, spells related to rocks and creating passages are essential due to the extremely complex geological environment here. Mages, during their leisure time, had long prepared many such scrolls for emergencies.
The mage ran while pulling out scrolls, and not until the fourth use of Wall Penetration Skill did a passage penetrate to that room. Wind gusted behind Lynch, whistling towards the room. The seven people seemed to instantly regain their spirits, rushing to the newly opened circular opening, taking deep breaths.
When Lynch appeared before them, they finally reacted, pulling out their weapons and retreating, half-encircling the mage. The dwarf shouted loudly, "Who are you! Speak quickly! Otherwise, you’ll see what we’re capable of!"
"Put down your weapons and retract your hostility, dwarf." Lynch walked out of the passage, stopping in the midst of the group, smiling as he said, "I’m not here to cause trouble for you."
"You’re the Dark Elf’s advisor, even wearing their mage robes; how can we trust you?" the Halfling thief William said. He stood to the side of the mage, and Lynch believed that if a fight broke out, this halfling would definitely be the first to stab him from behind.
"I can’t call you friends because we are not acquainted. But adventurers, do you judge a person by their identity or their actions?" Lynch said.
"We cannot take risks!" the ugly Half-Beastman shouted, pulling the little angel Soka, who was wrapped tightly, behind him, using his massive body to block Lynch’s sight.
"Since self-introduction failed so miserably, let me just get to the point." Lynch switched to holding the Powerful Wand in his left hand, and with a flick of his right wrist, the golden emblem given by the Blazing Angel fell from his sleeve, catching everyone by surprise as they hadn’t seen how he did it. "I came here to find Soka. Her parents entrusted me with this mission." The mage smiled, "I suppose there isn’t another little angel girl in the Underdark?"
The adventurers gasped, looking in astonishment at the badge in the mage’s hand. The golden badge now emitted a gentle glow, lighting up everyone’s face like an Unextinguishable torch.
"It’s my mommy’s!" the little girl blurted out, her voice crisp, like the sound of early spring water tinkling over melting ice. With a swift step, she emerged from behind the Half-Beastman, taking hold of the golden rune, cradling it cautiously in her hands.
Everyone present, seeing the tears in the little girl’s eyes, believed the mage’s words, and couldn’t help but relax their grip on their weapons.
After a while, the little one raised her head, her voice choked as she asked, "Where are my mommy and daddy? Where have they gone?"
"Your parents have temporarily entrusted you to my care, asking me to take you on a delightful journey in this world," Lynch crouched down so he could look the little girl in the eye, speaking in the kindest tone, "They said they would come to pick you up in due time."
Little Soka wiped her tears, looking at Lynch in front of her, then at the few people who had always been with her, before running to the Half-Beastman’s side: "Uncle Strange Face, it seems I will have to go with this man in the black robe..."
