Iris Harris lay on the hospital bed for the whole night, and when she woke up the next day, her fever had subsided, but her body was still weak.

She was in a daze from sleep, when she heard a commotion outside the door.

"Mom, why did you come..."

"How did Iris get a fever?"

"..."

"I heard from Dr. Link that when she was brought in, she was soaking wet," Lady Hyde’s voice was filled with anger, "Did you actually take her home yesterday?!"

Iris Harris struggled to get up from the bed, the needle was still inserted in the back of her hand, she quickly pulled it out, put on slippers, and went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, a "slap!" was heard, the crisp sound of a slap echoed in the hallway outside the hospital room.

Everyone in the hallway was stunned.

Even Brandan Hyde himself was stunned.

His head tilted to the side, and his right cheek burned with pain, but what was most unbelievable to him was that his mother hit him because of Iris Harris!

"No man of the Hyde residence would ever bully a woman." Lady Hyde’s voice was filled with both pain and hate, "How did I give birth to such a disgrace like you!"

Lady Hyde looked at Iris in shock, "Is... is that so?"

"Yes." Iris smiled faintly, "How could Brandan bully me?"

Standing at the door, Brandan Hyde’s eyes flickered slightly at her words.
