Chapter 85: Gemstones In The Mansion’s Lake.

Morning.

Gates, Theodore Mansion.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

***************

Lydia’s face held a small smile as she waited for the two boys to reach the door.

She had hoped real hard for them to come and here they hadn’t failed, they came.

She waited eagerly and soon they reached.

They look different today, they had done well with their appearance, and they appeared clean and younger yet mature than they had looked yesterday.

Lydia was impressed.

They both carry curly brown hair, it is now full and it falls softly, their brown eyes complement their caramel skin, they smile at the sight of her and their white teeth shine.

"Good morning my Lady" the skinnier one acknowledged Lydia with a bow.

The gates were open and Lydia nodded as the other brother bowed silently, Hound stood by the gate with both his hands behind him.

"You came to the monster’s mansion" she pointed out unable to keep her amazement.

"The beauty of the mansion invited us," the twin said.

"If the devil promised to save us, we would have gone to him," the silent brother said.

He was the thicker one who had forced them to talk yesterday.

Lydia drew in a sharp breath.

She wished she was as strong as they are right now but she hadn’t been, because she had thought of running away and had feared Theodore in her heart when the time came to marry him.

She had been too biased and close-minded she thought.

"You shall be given food and then you do the clearing of the mansion" she said smoothly, her arms gesturing around the mansion.

The boys look skinny and around Dorothy’s age, making Lydia wonder if they’d be physically able to carry out the task.

"I hope you can do that" she lets out.

"Yes my lady," they said in unison.

"You shall call me Lady Theodore" she corrected them. It is more pleasant when she tells them instead of Theodore himself.

Their minds sync and they say in unison. "Yes, Lady Theodore" Lydia nodded.

"Please, go inside do as much work as you can" she prompts.

"Yes Lady Theodore" yet again, in unison.

She smiled as they stepped into the mansion, their steps aligning she could only shake her head as she asked them. "What are your names?"

"Gabriel lady Theodore," the first one said.

"I’m Tom" the silent replied.

"Okay, Please do a good job and you shall be rewarded" she promised with motivation.

"Yes, Lady Theodore," one of them said.

"This way" Hound guided them.

They walked inside right after Hound, their eyes full of curiosity and awe.

"Today is going to be splendid" Lydia breathed despite the missing maid.

"You sound so sure"

Lydia drew in a sharp breath as her husband’s voice had surprised her.

He is here, as always.

She turned to him while he stood as confident as she had known him. "You shall make it splendid, Theodore" she announced.

He broke into a smile "That I shall endeavour to" he said.

They smiled at each other until Lydia lowered her gaze, he tipped her chin up with his index, her ocean blue eyes met his striking blue ones, and she felt her heart seem ten times faster than it normally does.

Noon.

Poolside, Theodore Mansion.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

****************

"Relax Theodore I just want to clean it with the boys" Lydia told her husband. She is clothed in a dungaree with her boots in her hand.

"The boys are not here yet, they are clearing bushes" he pointed out.

He could not understand why she had decided to clean the lake when there were other works in the mansion.

She paused in her failed attempt to wear the water boots while standing. "You wish for me to join them?"

"No, Lydia I never were convinced I would let my wife into a lake ever" he claimed.

"We could direct it to create a pond" she advised as she gazed at the calm waters, one could almost see everything underwater had it not been deep and a bit muddy in some areas.

"The water gets deeper" he countered.

She hissed at her feet, "It’s summer now" she said.

"Occasionally, Lydia it could change soon" he lets out.

"I shall leave then"

"You do not know how to swim" he was exasperated.

"Yes, I do!" she retorted as she walked to a seat and started to wear a water boot.

Theodore almost scoffed. "What happened that day then?"

"What day?" she asked almost cluelessly.

"Gooseberry" he warned.

"Yes, Lord husband" she countered sweetly.

"You drowned Lydia, in this lake" he snarled pointing at the water.

She continued to fix her boots on.

"No" she whispered and as he continued to watch her she met his eyes.

"Leave me alone Theodore" she muttered.

"Lydia" he growled with furrowed brows.

"Leave, so you won’t watch me drown again" she yelled, her forehead glistening with sweat.

Theodore frowned, something was wrong and he needed to find that maid.

In the lush lakeside, Theodore knelt gallantly on the soft earth.

He went on one of his knees and attempted to help her with the bootstrap. She struggled with him for a while before she let him help her with a sigh.

She wiped her arm across her forehead resigned yet stubborn.

She gazed at him, his tailored tweed suit bespoke both elegance and practicality. With a gentlemanly flourish, he extended his hand and started to assist his lady, her presence a vision of grace in her flowing attire.

As she delicately balanced on one foot, her other foot hovered above the ground, poised to slip into the sturdy yet refined waterproof boots.

Theodore’s demeanour exuded chivalry as he gently guided her foot into the boot, ensuring a snug fit. His movements were deliberate, each action a testament to his reverence for Lydia and his respect for her comfort.

He looked up to meet her eyes and With a smile, she stood up after he was done with her shoes, her ensemble now complete with the addition of practical yet fashionable footwear she marched into the water body.

Theodore pressed his lips together as he removed his shoes and started to follow her into the lake, still impeccably dressed.

Looking for Mira would be for Hound and Conan, he needed to look after his wife.

Lydia walked in the lake for a while and soon she was in the spot where the water reached her breast, she turned to look at Theodore, she knew he’d come along, and with a smile, she dived into the pristine water.

Golden rays across the tranquil surface of the lake, the lady emerged from the depths with effortless grace. Droplets of water cascaded from her glistening form as she arched her back, slicing through the pristine waters like a sleek mermaid. Each stroke propelled her forward, the rhythmic motion of her limbs a testament to her mastery of the aquatic realm.

With each breath, she inhaled the crisp, invigorating air, her senses heightened by the serene beauty surrounding her.

The gentle lapping of the water against her skin was accompanied by the melodious chorus of Theodore’s body nearing hers.

"Lydia!" she heard his call but immediately she reached the heart of the lake and something caught her eye.

A glimmering sparkle nestled amidst the aquatic foliage below. Her curiosity piqued, and she dove deeper, the water parting effortlessly before her. With delicate fingers, she reached out, her touch sending ripples dancing across the surface, and rising.

Her heart quickened as she retrieved the treasure from its watery bed. A handful of shimmering gems, their multifaceted surfaces catching the sunlight in a dazzling display of colour.

Emeralds, sapphires, and rubies glinted in her palm, their brilliance rivalling the splendour of the sun-kissed waters that surrounded her.

At that moment, Lydia felt as though she had stumbled upon a hidden treasure trove, a secret sanctuary hidden beneath the tranquil facade of the lake. One she would keep.

With a sense of wonderment and awe, she cradled the precious gems in her hands, their beauty a testament to the enchanting mysteries that lay beneath the surface of the world around her.

She swam back up quickly, her palm full of wonder.

"Theodore I found something" she gasped immediately she was out.

Theodore watched as water trailed her smooth skin, her full lips soft and liquid, he resisted the urge to pull her in for a kiss.

"What? Is it dangerous? Step out of the water then, come" he advised.

"No, husband, gems" she countered.

He frowned. "Gems? In a hundred kilometres lake?"

She ignored it to ask. "Are you ready?"

"Anywhere, anytime Gooseberry let’s do it," he said hoarsely.

She blushed at his wording. "For the reveal Theodore, the reveal of the gem" she pointed out.

He smirked. "Oh, the gemstones"

"Look" she pulled her arms out of the water and presented the now shocked Theodore with a handful of gemstones of different colours.

"I am about to be the richest lady in the empire" she whisper-yelled.

She seemed to recall something so she asked immediately. "There is no royal lady, is there?"

"Well..." he trailed off.

"That makes me the richest" she alerted.

Lydia smiled mischievously while Theodore blinked awed and confused.

How are there gemstones in such a small lake?
