Chapter 63: The started kit
Another notification pulled Forsyx out of his thoughts.
Ding!
[Reward for taking the first step as the Template Wilder.

2* One-time special creature summoning.
3* The trade and networking setter gem.
4* Your active template slot increases by one.

Now these were the things he was waiting for.
They were basically the starter pack to kick-start the development of his lab space.
The biggest limitation of his Template Wilder class was that he could not get templates from the game world.
The beginner village was the only exception, but now that he was out of it, he was stuck with five templates as his starter set.
The most basic requirement to create a template was to have that kind of monster in the lab, and that was what the first two rewards were for.
The terrain map allowed him to create an environment in the empty land around the lab where the creature could live.
The first was a free terrain map.
The special upgrade had already delayed his lab’s progress, so without wasting a moment, he took out the grassland terrain map from his inventory.
Weyril asked him, "Boss, that’s a terrain map. You want me to explain its use?"
Forsyx glanced at Weyril and asked, "To what extent do you know?"
Weyril tilted his head. "What do you mean by that?"
He waved the map in his hand. "Do you know any tricks about the terrain?"
Weyril shook his head. "Nah, I know how to set up the map, nothing else."
Forsyx sighed. "Then leave it."
With that, he unrolled the terrain map, and the next moment, a black-and-blue 3D blueprint of the space around appeared before him.
At the center of the blueprint, there was the small cuboid lab. A grassland icon floated in the corner of the blueprint.
With extreme familiarity, he dragged the icon onto the back mesh representing the land.
The next moment, a massive green square appeared about a kilometer away from the lab on the map.
Forsyx said to Weyril, "Come with me."
The next moment, he took a jump and flew toward the back of the lab.
The authority of the Lab Master gave him a lot of power, and flying and teleportation within the space were among them.
Weyril easily followed using his secondary authority.
Both of them soon flew right above the massive grassland.
Forsyx reopened the blueprint and said to Weyril, "I will adjust the major stuff. I want you to create diversity in grass length."
Weyril just yawned and rolled his eyes. "This is for those birds and snakes, right?"
Forsyx opened his status and, with a snap of his finger, showed Weyril his other two Template cards.
At first, Weyril just nodded his head, but then he froze.
A wide smile formed on his face, and a partial shiver ran from head to toe.
Weyril looked at Forsyx with bright eyes. "Boss, why did you hide such majestic monsters? Haha! Don’t worry, I’ll make the best possible place for these monsters to become stronger, full of blood. Only then will dismantling them be fun."
After saying those disturbing things, Weyril jumped down to the grassland.
Forsyx just shook his head and double-tapped on the green mesh on the blueprint.
[Are you sure you want to finalize the grassland position? (Y/N)
(Note: It’s a permanent process. Please confirm if you want to finalize the grassland position.)
]
As Forsyx tapped ’Yes’, a lot of small macro options popped up before him.
From water ponds to trees and rocks.
He first focused on water sources and scattered small puddles and ponds all around the grassland, with an enormous lake on the far left side of the map.
He thought inside his head, ’Telepathy connection with the assistant.’
The next moment, he heard Weyril’s voice inside his mind. "Yes, boss."
Forsyx picked and scattered some enormous trees around the water sources and said, "Increase the length of the grass to around knee-height near the ponds. Next to the lake, increase its height up to chest height on the west and south banks, while keeping it ankle-length in other areas."
Weyril replied, "In just a moment, boss."
Forsyx saw, below, a portion of grass growing thinner in one section, while in another area, it started to grow denser and taller.
He didn’t stop and started adding some big stones around the thinner grass areas.
He also added some useful flowers that came with the grassland terrain.
After the grass, he focused on the soil.
With this terrain pack, he only had two soil types.
From trial and error, he knew that both snakes and rabbits would thrive in softer soil, while hard soil was a must for the Dire Wolves to travel efficiently.
So he decided to go with overall harder soil, with regions of softer soil scattered around the denser grass areas.
One of the big mistakes that cost him last time was not properly creating the terrain.
In the past, he just placed a couple of starter terrains and was done with it.
That just made those areas barren after a few months.
A big part of terrain building required understanding of the kind of creature that was going to live there, and then making it so those creatures could survive.
Not done yet, he added some algae and underwater plants for the fish to thrive in.
The good thing was, like most fish, Rainbow Carp were omnivores.
So these underwater plants would be suitable for them.
He even added a bunch of water-floating plants toward the south and west banks next to the high grass areas to create a thriving environment for the fish.
As for the rabbits and snakes, the soft soil regions would serve them best.
The biggest problem was the pipler birds. Just for them, he created small tree patches all around the grassland.
It wasn’t as safe as their forest habitat, but having so many options would provide variety for them.
While he was busy doing all this, Weyril placed his entire focus on developing the area for the wolves to live.
Just a basic, plain area filled with some massive rocks, while most of the soil was hard ground with pebbles here and there.
It took them almost three hours to transform a simple, plain grassland into something habitable.
After making the final adjustments, Forsyx finally confirmed the setup as the terrain map disintegrated before him.
Now it was time to add some basic creatures to this land.
