Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands -
Chapter 68 Green Tea Fish
Chapter 68: Chapter 68 Green Tea Fish
Fortunately, Shi Xie took the initiative to reach out and grab the paper.
He shook his head sorrowfully: "It’s not because of my leg."
"The Ice Sea Flower is gone. I will never find a Female Master again," Shi Xie said in anguish, tears at the corners of his eyes shifting from clear to blue.
Xiao Jinsheng watched as a drop of blue tear fell from his chin, hitting the ground and transforming into a smooth, light blue pearl.
"It even changes color?" Xiao Jinsheng was surprised.
Clear tears produced common white pearls, but blue tears became blue pearls.
Around the sofa, there were at least thousands of them.
Xiao Jinsheng bent down to pick one up but hesitated, feeling it might be a bit unethical to do so.
She comforted, "Doesn’t the Terminal do matching? When the time comes, the Terminal will pair you with a Female Master."
"It won’t," Shi Xie said despondently, his face ashen. "The Beastmen in Mist West have been abandoned by the Terminal. If we want to have a Female Master, we can only rely on ourselves."
"But now the Ice Sea Flower has been stolen, and my twenty years of effort have all been in vain."
As Shi Xie spoke, he suddenly turned to ram his head against the corner of the coffee table. "What’s the point of living alone? I might as well just die early."
"Hey, hey, hey, don’t be impulsive!" Xiao Jinsheng lunged to stop him.
However, she failed to hold him back and stumbled with Shi Xie’s weight, the two tumbling together between the sofa and the coffee table.
"Are you hurt?" Shi Xie, acting as a cushion beneath her, asked with concern.
"I’m fine." Xiao Jinsheng shook her head and propped herself up, but before she could stand, Li appeared and swept her away, lifting her by the waist.
"Now that you’re awake, hurry up and get lost," Li said to Shi Xie bluntly. "If you want to die, die outside. Don’t die in my house."
"He’s so mean," Shi Xie said with a frightened expression, shrinking back and looking worriedly at Xiao Jinsheng. "If I had a Female Master, I would never be this cruel."
"Get lost!" Li, uninterested in arguing with Shi Xie, carried Xiao Jinsheng away from him.
Facing Li’s rejection of him, Shi Xie didn’t fight back or retaliate. He simply spoke sorrowfully.
His icy blue eyes, as if ready to shatter, gazed at Xiao Jinsheng. "Can you give me a crutch? Since your family doesn’t like me, I should leave as soon as possible."
"His leg is still injured," Xiao Jinsheng said to Li, feeling a twinge of pity for Shi Xie.
"Fix him up immediately and get him out of here," Li urged Yu Yunxiao impatiently.
Yu Yunxiao shrugged innocently. "His bones are all broken. I’m only 4 Stars in Superpower now—I don’t have the capability."
"How many Stars do you need?" Li asked.
"Six Stars," Yu Yunxiao answered, just as a few chests slammed to the ground in front of him.
The chests landed with a thud, their lids flipping open to reveal piles of dazzling Six-Star Star Stones.
"Hurry up and level up, fix him, and get him out," Li ordered boldly.
"Don’t worry, I’ll send him off immediately," Yu Yunxiao replied, hoisting the chest and heading upstairs.
"Actually, you don’t have to go through all that trouble," Shi Xie weakly interjected. "It’s just a leg injury. I’m not dead. Just give me a crutch, and I can leave on my own."
"Oh, thanks for reminding me," Li said with a cold smile, opening a black portal. "I can just send you home. I’ll drop you into any random sea. I’m sure you can swim back."
Upon hearing this, Shi Xie closed his eyes in resignation. "Without the Ice Sea Flower and without a Female Master, I’ll be killed by my clan even if I go back."
"Thank you for granting my wish," Shi Xie said with a sorrowful smile.
"Hold on, Yu Yunxiao is leveling up," Xiao Jinsheng quickly intervened to calm the situation.
But by the time evening came, Yu Yunxiao still hadn’t come out of his room.
During dinner, Shi Xie was naturally invited by Xiao Jinsheng to join the meal.
Seeing his inconvenience in moving, Huaiqing even served him a bowl of soup.
Shi Xie was immediately grateful and praised, "I think you are Jinsheng’s most thoughtful Beast Husband."
"It wasn’t anything much. I’m just in charge of meals daily," Huaiqing replied with a smile.
"Ha." Li, sitting beside Xiao Jinsheng, let out a cold laugh.
The sheep and the fish—neither of them was any good. They only knew how to cloud Xiao Jinsheng’s mind.
Li thought about this and pulled Xiao Jinsheng’s chair closer to himself.
"What are you doing?" Xiao Jinsheng looked at him in confusion.
Li sniffed and asked the group, "Don’t you smell something?"
"Smell what?" Que Zelian asked, puzzled.
"A mix of gamy and fishy smells," Li said with pointed insinuation.
Huaiqing was speechless for a moment, knowing Li’s hostility toward him was because Xiao Jinsheng had changed her mind about the divorce because of him.
Huaiqing understood that the best way to deal with Li was to ignore him completely.
But Shi Xie couldn’t do the same.
He immediately began shedding small pearls.
Looking at Xiao Jinsheng and Li, he asked, "Are you talking about me when you mention the fishy smell?"
"He wasn’t talking about you; he was referring to the fish in the kitchen that hasn’t been cleaned yet," Xiao Jinsheng explained.
"But I am a fish," Shi Xie choked, his tears falling in a stream of pearls.
Su Ye clenched his teeth as he watched. "Can you stop crying? I just swept up a bucket of pearls."
It was his turn to clean the house today, and sweeping the floor was already a headache.
"I’m sorry," Shi Xie said, holding back his tears with great difficulty, his eyes pitifully locked on Xiao Jinsheng. "I may be a fish, but I promise I don’t stink."
"If you don’t believe me, you can come and smell," Shi Xie said, pulling away the white gauze over his hand and revealing a snow-white arm with smooth, lean muscle lines, extending it toward Xiao Jinsheng.
At this moment, the five men present all directed hostile glares toward Shi Xie.
Shi Xie timidly let his sleeve fall back into place and lowered his voice, saying to Xiao Jinsheng, "Jinsheng, they’re so mean to me."
Xiao Jinsheng finally caught on to the vibe.
He’s one green-tea fish.
Green tea or not, he was the pinnacle of tea if his aim was clear and he went after what benefited him.
Xiao Jinsheng couldn’t bring herself to scold Shi Xie but also had to manage the tension among her five Beast Husbands.
Her left hand, hidden under the table, pressed firmly against Li’s leg to keep him from flipping the table and beating Shi Xie up on the spot.
Then she turned to Shi Xie and redirected the conversation. "What kind of fish are you? A little blue fish?"
Shi Xie’s eyes twinkled with a hint of embarrassment as he smiled and answered, "I’m not anything special, but the world calls us mermaids."
He then added, "I am already at Ten Stars in Superpower and can protect my Female Master well."
"But now that the Ice Sea Flower is gone, I will never have a Female Master again."
As he spoke, Shi Xie looked hopeful and gazed at Xiao Jinsheng. "If only you were my Female Master. I’d have an entire ocean as my dowry."
In an instant, the words ignited the fury of the five Beast Husbands around the table.
Que Zelian furrowed his brow, Mo Jiao darkened his gaze, Su Ye’s expression turned unfriendly, and Huaiqing smiled faintly.
Yet, for once, all four men united in a rare moment of agreement, refraining from taking action and waiting for the one with the strongest temper—Li—to unleash his wrath.
But after a while, they realized something odd. Li’s face was flushed red—evidently infuriated—but he hadn’t lashed out at Shi Xie. His entire focus was on the bowl of white rice in front of him.
The four men’s confusion deepened: within a short minute, had Li, who was infamous for picking fights over the slightest reason, suddenly turned over a new leaf?
The tension at the dining table defused before it could escalate, and Xiao Jinsheng suppressed a soft laugh.
Only she and Li knew the reason why he wasn’t moving.
Li’s hand gripping his chopsticks trembled slightly as his legs involuntarily tensed under the table. His gaze flicked toward the pressure Xiao Jinsheng’s unseen hand was applying on his thigh—a silent warning fed through her Star Map.
Li: Wait until tonight!
Xiao Jinsheng: I was afraid you’d get too worked up and start fighting him. The two of you are both Ten Stars. If you got hurt, I’d feel terrible.
Li: Not listening, not listening, not listening!
Li: You started this fire, so you better be ready to put it out tonight.
Xiao Jinsheng: Do you have a pocketbook of cheesy lines or something?
Li: ...How did you know?
Xiao Jinsheng: Babe, promise me this—let’s not practice over-the-top bully-romantic CEO one-liners, okay?
