Chapter 35 Mo Jiao, I can explain

Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Mo Jiao, I can explain

"So, does that mean this life of yours now belongs to me?" Mo Jiao’s violet eyes glinted coldly as he stared directly at the bald man.

"You saved my pathetic life; of course, it belongs to you." The bald man clenched his fists, his palms damp with cold sweat.

"What was your name again?" Mo Jiao mused aloud.

The bald man quickly replied, "My name is Wang Nuo."

"Wang Nuo, is it?" Sitting in the crimson chair, Mo Jiao tilted his chin slightly upward. "Then right now, die for me."

"Wh-What?!" The bald man was horrified.

"Did you not hear me? Let me repeat, die by your own hand." Black mist began to rise around Mo Jiao’s figure. He rolled his wrist and smirked with raised brows. "Or should I assume you don’t want me to do it personally?"

"Mo Jiao! Aren’t you going too far?!"

The bald man couldn’t hold back anymore, fury burning in his glare as he stepped menacingly toward Mo Jiao. "I’ve shown you respect because of the kindness you once showed me! Don’t disrespect me just because I gave you face!"

Mo Jiao’s fingers twitched slightly, and the black mist instantly sealed off the entire room.

He rose slowly to his feet, his towering stature and presence completely overpowering the bald man.

"Can’t take it anymore?" Mo Jiao’s voice turned icy. "Talking with someone like you is truly exhausting."

But something he said seemed to provoke the bald man, whose head suddenly transformed into a massive brown-scaled python, hissing furiously at Mo Jiao.

In an instant, the room was teeming with venomous snakes—so numerous it could easily be mistaken for a pit of vipers.

"Now, since our powers are on par—both of us Five Stars—you think I’m afraid of you?" the bald man roared furiously.

Still in human form save for the head of the giant python, he rushed at Mo Jiao, jaws wide open to strike.

Mo Jiao lifted his leg and kicked down fiercely, stomping both the man and his serpent head to the ground in one swift motion.

As the bald man struggled, Mo Jiao’s foot crashed down on his right eye, bursting it, and the blood splattered onto the tip of Mo Jiao’s shoe was deliberately wiped off against the man’s body.

"What are you hollering about?" Mo Jiao shifted his foot to press down heavily on the connection between the man’s snake neck and human shoulder—his vulnerable seven-inch weak spot. "While I was injured, you stole my possessions, spread rumors of my death, and even schemed to deceive and kill me by manipulating my female partner."

"Mo Jiao, I was wrong! I can explain!" The bald man immediately surrendered, his so-called Five-Star superpower completely suppressed by Mo Jiao without effort.

His snake head reverted to normal as he wept and snot ran down his face. "Back then, you were surrounded by a sea of corpses, and when I took your Crystal Core, it was to find someone to rescue you."

"But those people tricked me! They said they couldn’t find you and told me you were truly dead, so I... wuuu..."

"So, you ran off with my belongings and climbed your way up to manage the black market, huh?" Mo Jiao sneered coldly.

"Yes, yes, that’s it! You’re my savior; I’d never harm you! I can explain everything, Mo Jiao—everything!" The bald man wailed.

"Noise. I’m not interested." Mo Jiao stomped on his head, cutting him off mid-sob, and his next words were an unequivocal death sentence.

In his palm, he conjured a swirling ball of violet-black energy, chuckling menacingly. "Seeing with my own eyes will always be more convincing than listening to a liar’s nonsense."

"No, no, no!" The bald man’s eyes widened in terror as he struggled frantically against his fate.

He already knew firsthand how terrifying Mo Jiao could be.

A year ago, he watched as anyone who upset Mo Jiao couldn’t even leave behind a complete corpse.

This was why, upon learning just days ago that Mo Jiao was still alive and also living in Moon City, the bald man had rushed to eliminate him.

But he knew clearly that killing Mo Jiao was exceptionally difficult.

Still, he received good news—Mo Jiao had gotten married, and his female partner didn’t seem to like him.

In that case, killing Mo Jiao would be much easier.

Even as he begged, Mo Jiao paid him no mind. The violet-black energy in Mo Jiao’s palm shot forward, enveloping the bald man entirely.

Mo Jiao took a step back, watching calmly as the man’s agonized shrieks echoed while the black mist corroded his body.

Before long, the room’s opulent carpet bore no trace of the bald man—only a stark set of bleached bones, like weathered remnants of centuries past.

And yet, the bloodstains on the carpet remained vivid and fresh.

Mo Jiao closed his eyes, methodically combing through the memories he had extracted from the man’s mind with his superpower.

Upon returning home, Xiao Jinsheng was immediately pulled into Que Zelian’s arms and carried to her room.

Yu Yunxiao, looking anxious, his cat ears drooping, held out a cup of milk to her. "I just warmed this up. They say drinking warm milk can help with shock."

"Thank you, but you can take it back," Xiao Jinsheng said softly, snuggling into Que Zelian’s embrace as her gaze flicked to him.

Yu Yunxiao’s expression fell, and guilt washed over him.

This time, Yu Yunxiao knew for certain—Xiao Jinsheng had truly gotten angry at him.

He disliked her, sure, and even thought about divorce, but he’d never intended to hurt her.

At most, he only ever exchanged a few sharp words with her whenever he found her insufferable.

"Alright... but if you need anything, just call me." Yu Yunxiao clutched the cup of milk, his head drooping as he turned to leave.

"Keep it warm for me," Xiao Jinsheng said, rising slightly from Que Zelian’s embrace to address Yu Yunxiao again.

"Huh?" Yu Yunxiao stopped and turned back, confused.

She smiled at him. "I have so much blood on me—I need to clean up first."

"Warm milk—you’ll keep it ready for me, right?"

"Of course!" His previously dull, gold-blue abnormal pupils instantly sparkled with renewed brightness.

The cat ears atop Yu Yunxiao’s head twitched excitedly as he nodded fervently. "The milk’s gotten a little cool. I’ll reheat it right now!"

With that, he left the room happily, his feline ears quivering with enthusiasm.

Xiao Jinsheng’s gloomy mood lifted in that moment too.

She was so pleased, she almost started humming a tune, but then she noticed the gaze lingering above her.

Looking up, she found Que Zelian studying her with a teasing smile. "Little Jin, your charm’s truly enormous. A few days in, and you’ve got everyone eating out of your hand."

Her face froze, and guilt rose within her.

Xiao Jinsheng’s mind reeled—what had she just done?

Sitting in one husband’s lap while flirting with another?

She raised her hand to cover her face.

Que Zelian, still holding her, carried her toward the bathroom. "Quick, get cleaned up, then we’ll enjoy some warm milk."

"You talk too much," she snapped, her voice tinged with frustration.

"Alright." He chuckled softly, pushing open the bathroom door with a wry frown. "Still, I wonder—who will warm milk for me?"

"I’ll warm it for you, okay? Now get out, I need to shower!" Her cheeks flushed red.

"I’m already out here." He pointed at the floor three centimeters from the bathroom threshold.

"Leave my room," she grumbled in exasperation, shoving him out of the bedroom. "Why are you lurking outside the bathroom while I shower? Are you some kind of pervert?"

"I learned it from you," he replied leisurely.

Her eyes widened in shock. "When did I ever lurk outside your bathroom?"

"The very first night you and I slept together." He bent closer, a mischievous glint in his eye. "While I was taking a bath, you sprawled on the bed and kept glancing at the bathroom. I noticed everything."

She couldn’t believe how sly this bastard was—pretending to be upright while hiding such devious thoughts. And the fact that he remembered it all!

She huffed. "If you were in the bath but watching me from there the whole time—between the two of us, who’s truly the bigger pervert?"

"Que Zelian, have some decency for once!"

With that, she slammed the door in his face and locked it decisively.
