Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands
Chapter 34 Survival of the Fittest

Chapter 34: Chapter 34 Survival of the Fittest

"Xiao Jin, it’s me." Que Zelian gently wrapped her bloodstained, gun-wielding hands in his palms and spoke softly.

"Que Zelian..." The moment Xiao Jinsheng saw Que Zelian, the tears welling up in her eyes could no longer be held back and streamed down her face.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" Que Zelian gently wiped the bloodstains off her face with his mist-covered hand.

"I killed someone," Xiao Jinsheng sobbed.

"You did well." Que Zelian tucked her messy hair behind her ears and comforted her with a reassuring smile as he stroked her head. "Xiao Jin is much braver than I am. At the beginning, I didn’t even dare fire a gun."

"Don’t be afraid. We’ve all come to find you." Que Zelian gently pulled her into his embrace, pressing down on her hand, which was still gripping the trigger and keeping the gun primed. "With me here, you’re safe now."

"Shall we go home first, okay?"

"But this gun..." Xiao Jinsheng’s hands were still trembling.

She thought of it as the gun of no return.

Once the trigger was pulled, there was no going back.

The longer the trigger was held, the more devastating the power became.

"It’s fine. Just follow my strength." Que Zelian placed his palm over the back of Xiao Jinsheng’s hand on the gun and guided her wrist, moving the muzzle elsewhere.

He lowered his gaze to her, his tone gentle. "Xiao Jin, since we’ve come to this world, we must abide by its rules of survival."

Xiao Jinsheng raised her eyes to look at him, meeting his tender, sunset-like gaze that softened even his voice.

He said, "Here, only the strong survive."

Que Zelian guided her hand holding the gun, his eyes cold as he aimed it at Big Scar’s corpse on the ground.

Together, he helped her pull the trigger.

Another gunshot rang out, hitting Big Scar’s head.

Another entire Star Stone’s worth of energy blasted the corpse’s head into fragments.

"Can you bear to look?" Que Zelian placed the silver handgun back in Xiao Jinsheng’s hands and gently asked.

"No..." Xiao Jinsheng shook her head hurriedly.

"Then don’t look. Let’s go home first." Que Zelian directly scooped her up in his arms, signaling that she could rest her head on him, and walked out quickly.

As they stepped through the doorway, Xiao Jinsheng, fighting her fear, peeked out from his arms to glance behind.

She saw that Big Scar, originally left with a blood-filled hole blasted through his chest, had, in a short time, fully zombified. His nails had mutated into razor-sharp black claws.

If it weren’t for Que Zelian administering that final shot just now, Xiao Jinsheng was certain that Big Scar would have transformed into a zombie and attacked her.

"On the Mist Continent, killing a person and killing a zombie are the same thing." Noticing that she still looked at Big Scar’s corpse, Que Zelian explained.

"I’ll remember that." Xiao Jinsheng’s voice was weak.

Feeling somewhat exhausted, she raised her hand to clutch the hem of Que Zelian’s shirt and closed her eyes to feign a nap in his arms.

"If you’re tired, sleep for a bit. When you wake, we’ll be home," Que Zelian reassured her.

Xiao Jinsheng shook her head. Her head was throbbing too much to sleep right now.

Carried by Que Zelian as they headed out, she could see the black-clad men who had been taken down in the corridor—Big Scar’s subordinates.

Each one lay in a pool of blood, their fate clear at a glance.

Soon, Xiao Jinsheng was reunited with the other four men who had split up to search for her.

"Her hand is injured; treat her first," Que Zelian said as he carried Xiao Jinsheng and walked directly toward Yu Yunxiao.

Yu Yunxiao, ears drooping like a cat, said nothing and simply activated his superpower to heal Xiao Jinsheng’s wounds.

The second time.

This was the second time he had lost Xiao Jinsheng.

As Yu Yunxiao looked at the bloodstains on Xiao Jinsheng, they felt particularly jarring to him.

"Shall I go fetch the car?" Su Ye asked, glancing at Xiao Jinsheng hiding in Que Zelian’s arms.

"That works." Que Zelian nodded.

Huaiqing pulled up a chair nearby, gesturing for Que Zelian to sit and hold Xiao Jinsheng there for now.

Even Mo Jiao, who usually clashed with Xiao Jinsheng, merely cast a glance at her bloodstains and refrained from making trouble this time.

"You all head back first. I have something to handle," Mo Jiao said coldly as he strode toward the exit.

"Where are you going at a time like this?" Huaiqing questioned.

"To buy tree seedlings," Mo Jiao replied.

"Is now really the time to buy tree seedlings?" Yu Yunxiao exclaimed in disbelief.

Hearing this, Mo Jiao turned back, his cold and mocking gaze sweeping over Yu Yunxiao. "What else should I do? Follow your example? Lose her twice in two chances?"

"If I stay with you all, she’ll get herself killed, and you’ll get yourselves killed too. Do you think I should just wait around and die with you?" Mo Jiao sneered.

"I admit this time is my fault, but Mo Jiao, aren’t you going too far?" Yu Yunxiao roared, "She was kidnapped! Don’t lay your blame on the victim."

"Let him go." Xiao Jinsheng sat up weakly from Que Zelian’s arms and called to Yu Yunxiao. Then, meeting Mo Jiao’s icy gaze, her face paled. "What I said before still holds. Once the points are enough, I’ll divorce you. Go plant your trees."

"Heh." Mo Jiao snickered coldly.

He didn’t respond to Xiao Jinsheng’s statement and quickly turned and left.

When Su Ye drove back, he immediately noticed someone was missing, and Yu Yunxiao looked on the verge of exploding.

Though puzzled, Su Ye didn’t ask, as Huaiqing explained first: "He had something to do and told us to return first."

Su Ye frowned almost imperceptibly but said nothing. Once everyone was in the car, he started the engine.

The Black Market Beast Fighting Arena was filled with the roars of Mutant Beasts and the cheers of humans.

A bald man sat in a high position, holding a glass of red wine, overlooking the death match between a Beastman and a Mutant Beast on the arena stage.

"Boss, Big Scar is dead," someone reported urgently as they ran in.

"And the female, what’s her name... Xiao Jinsheng? Is she dead?" The bald man showed no reaction to the death of Big Scar.

"Not dead. She was rescued," the subordinate replied.

"Rescued?" The bald man finally showed some interest, turning to his subordinate. "By Mo Jiao?"

"Her five Beast Husbands all came," the subordinate answered.

"She’s quite lucky." The bald man snickered.

The subordinate hesitated. "With five people protecting her, it’s indeed troublesome to kill her."

"The lucky one is Mo Jiao." The bald man’s gaze darkened as he smiled.

The subordinate froze and tentatively asked, "Big Scar’s dead. Should we assign someone else to his task?"

"Not for now. Disturb them once, and they’ll be more vigilant next time." The bald man put down his wine glass and stood. "If I want to use that woman’s death to kill him, it won’t be as easy the second time."

Though the subordinate didn’t fully understand the bald man’s words, the fear he felt kept him from asking further.

Having lost interest in watching the beast fight, the bald man closed the door to his office on the highest floor of the Black Market.

The heavy curtains were tightly drawn, casting the room into deep shadows despite it being daytime.

The bald man didn’t care, reaching to turn on the light, only to turn and see the red-leather chair behind his desk occupied by a tall figure.

The chair swiveled slowly, revealing Mo Jiao reclining against its soft backrest, a faint smile on his lips as he regarded the terrified bald man. "Seeing me scares you this much?"

"So, how long has it been since we last met?" Mo Jiao raised an eyebrow. "What’s your name again—Wang? Li? Or Zhu?"

"My apologies. I can’t be bothered to remember the names of stinking little clowns who like to prance about." Mo Jiao smiled apologetically.

The bald man quickly suppressed the fear written on his body and responded with a nervous smile, "It’s you! Forgive me, for a second I thought—"

"You thought I was already dead?" Mo Jiao asked, still smiling.

"No, no, no." The bald man frantically waved his hands. "You were able to save me from the sea of corpses. I have full faith in your strength."
