Chapter 785: Chapter 354 Boss Acrobat_2

Lin Wu took it and looked; the strap and face of the watch were inlaid with white diamonds and various other gemstones. Shana explained, "These are called diamonds, and they’re usually used for industrial drill bits. At that time, they were one of the hardest substances on Earth. The watch’s name is the Chopin 201-carat watch."

Lin Wu: "20,000?" Blue Star had them too—synthetic diamonds, 100 carats for nine bucks with free shipping.

Shana said, "Add three zeroes."

"Damn, inflation on Earth must have been severe," Lin Wu realized. "No wonder a thousand bucks could only get you a few bullets."

Little Knife pulled out a pair of earrings, each set with a large gemstone, one blue and one pink: "And these?"

Shana looked at them for a long time: "They must be worth at least 100,000, right?"

Maya: "Get to work, everyone. What’s everyone doing?"

The scavenging of the first room was over, yielding 5,000 bucks in cash, plus a pile of jewelry. Calculated at the current price of gold, it could barely be worth tens of thousands of dollars.

The second room seemed to be a man’s suite, complete with a huge bathroom. The bathtub resembled a park fountain, with two statues in the ancient Roman style constantly spouting water. Some male and female underwear was placed by the pool, and Lin Wu guessed that the owners of the residence couldn’t afford the luxury of having their only remaining underwear get wet, so they stripped before getting into the water.

Such frugal living was rare. As he pushed the door to enter the master bedroom, Lin Wu almost cursed out loud—the room was filled with cash. Cash was usually a good thing, but this time it was scattered everywhere, as if someone had gone crazy, throwing the bills towards the ceiling, leaving paper money all over the room. By his estimate, there were... he couldn’t quite estimate.

Lin Wu closed the door and reported: "There’s nothing in the master bedroom."

Maya immediately gave him a suspicious look, but Little Knife came to the rescue at the critical moment: "A lot of diamonds?"

Everyone was drawn to the second bedroom, where a suitcase was filled with two bags of diamonds when emptied. Shana consoled, "In this era, they should be quite valuable."

And so, all ten suites had been turned upside down by the group. During the process, they rescued several NPCs, with the total number of people saved reaching 37. Finding 13 more would lure out the Boss, allowing them to conquer the dungeon. They also obtained a piece of information: there were at least two living NPCs on the 21st floor.

Maya called a temporary meeting, offering her opinion: "After resetting the dungeon, it would take too much time and energy to find the Hidden Portal again. I suggest we save just 49 people and leave the two on the 21st floor for last."

Shana said, "That way, we must ensure that one of us remains in the dungeon at all times."

Maya nodded: "Gather guns on the 17th floor, scavenge supplies on the other floors. If we are not on a floor, the zombies there will slowly respawn as time goes by, which we can use to farm cards. With guns, bullets, supplies, and the Hidden Portal, the only thing to worry about is other players entering Dungeon 771."

Shana replied, "The chances are slim, and besides, we could just let them have the dungeon. To retreat a step, it’s not like we can’t beat them."

"That’s settled then," Maya said. "Once Little Knife and Snow Egg return from their delivery, we’ll head to the 23rd floor."

As she spoke, noises came from the self-service restaurant. The three went to investigate outside the dining area, spotting the restaurant’s sprinklers at work, with a live electrical wire fallen to the ground, the sparks above the water blocking the players’ path. From the open bar and kitchen area about 20 meters away, there was a faint stir, and the three positioned themselves against the walls, taking cover.

A creature jumped onto the bar—it was a person, but also resembled Frenzy. More accurately, it was a being with the transformation from human to Frenzy complete by only 50%, a new hybrid of the two. Its eyes were full of slyness and ferocity, its expression insane. Most importantly, its name was Boss Acrobat.

No sooner had Maya fired a shot than the Acrobat dove behind the bar, which was very solidly built with its exterior wrapped in leather over stone. The bullets hit the bar, sending chips flying everywhere in a dramatic scene, to no effect.

The bar connected to the kitchen counter, once the chef’s area for preparing on-the-spot dishes like fried eggs and steaks during a buffet. This counter was made of the same material as the bar, the two surfaces forming together into a crescent shape, stretching about 20 meters long.

With a flash of cold light, the Acrobat peeked from the edge of the kitchen counter, beckoning for a boning knife to fly into its grip. Maya hurriedly bumped into Shana, who tilted to dodge the critical spot, but was still pierced through the left arm by the boning knife.

Maya: "Get Shana to the elevator." Without needing to be told by Shana, Maya knew her left arm was useless, which meant she couldn’t provide enough combat power under these circumstances.

"I’ll walk on my own, you guys be careful."

One minute later, Little Knife and Snow Egg arrived, and the four used two pillars and the walls for cover as they observed the situation inside. They saw a portion of the ceiling above the bar collapse, the Acrobat hanging upside down, flinging two sharp steak knives from its hands. Before Lin Wu and the others could shoot, the Acrobat tucked and rolled back into the ceiling.

Lin Wu stuck to the wall to dodge; one steak knife swept past the wall, flying out just 3 centimeters from his face before embedding itself into the opposite wall.

Snow Egg was not so lucky, getting shot in the head and losing 90% of his mobility. Maya dragged him aside and, along with Little Knife, started to carry him off, instructing Lin Wu: "This thing is very ferocious; be careful on your own."

"Got it," Lin Wu responded with a single word, continuing to stand by the wall. The key was to catch the position; if the enemy appeared in the sights just at the right moment, he could be faster than them. Suddenly, Lin Wu thought of something and called out, "Even if we kill it, it seems we won’t get any cards."
