Chapter 369: I was so scared

Chapter 369: I was so scared

"Shinwoo, you bastard!" Seojin yelled in anger. "Let go of Dongwoo right this instant."

Shinwoo chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Or what? You’ll kill me? Who cares?" He chuckled once more, and his chuckle transformed into full-blown laughter.

He laughed like a madman, finding this situation even more amusing than when he envisioned Dongwoo pleading for his help.

Amidst the cackles of fire from the distance and the smoke that had filled the air, the tension between these four was as wild as the impending danger.

If they didn’t get out of there fast, they would burn with the building.

Seojin’s face twisted in anger, but he couldn’t just charge in because he was angry. Shinwoo was holding a knife, and since he was like a madman right now, he could suddenly hurt Dongwoo.

Seojin was equally angry, gritting his teeth and clenching his fist.

He had to do something. His eyes fell on the pitiful figure of Dongwoo and his blood boiled.

He wanted to save him, hold him in his arms, and assure him that everything was okay. He wanted...

Just as Shinwoo was about to speak again, a Lily humped out of nowhere, landing on Shinwoo’s face and scratching him even more mercilessly than she did before.

Shinwoo yelped in pain, releasing his grip on Dongwoo as he tried to finally catch Lily, the wild animal that was always getting in his way.

Dongwoo took advantage of the distraction, using all his strength to push Shinwoo away and fell forward.

Seojin and Seojun rushed forward, grabbing Dongwoo and pulling him to safety. Seojun turned to Shinwoo, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You’re going to pay for this," Seojun growled, his fists clenched and ready to attack, but Shinwoo was still holding a knife, so he needed to be cautious.

Shinwoo, still trying to fend off Lily’s attacks, stumbled backward, his eyes wide with fear as his head went straight to the wall.

This was Seojun’s chance; he hurried and grabbed Shinwoo, landing a heavy punch on his face and breaking most of his facial features.

Seojin held Dongwoo, supporting him as he swayed weakly. "Hyung, are you okay?" Seojun asked, his voice filled with concern.

Dongwoo nodded, still panting heavily. "Y-yes... I’m fine." He glanced at Seojun and watched him punch Shinwoo.

His heart was overwhelmed. He was struck with relief and so his eyes gave way to rain of tears.

"Hyung?" Seojin called, concerned. "Does it hurt a lot? I’ll carry you."

But Dongwoo gripped him tight and shook his head.

"I’m just... So happy. I was so scared." He cried out loud, his cries aching their hearts and causing Seojun to feel even more enraged.

He turned to Shinwoo.

That single punch was enough to knock him unconscious, but he was still conscious, which was rather unfortunate for him because now Seojun had a reason to keep pounding him till there was nothing left to pound.

He took his anger out on Shinwoo for messing Dongwoo up, hurting him, and making him cry.

"Don’t kill him yet. We still have to find out who’s behind him." Seojin suddenly said and Seojun stopped. If he kept going then he’d die.

"It’s too early for you to die." Seojun said and threw his body down to the floor.

He took out his phone to call his people. They would need to come to pick up Shinwoo and make sure he was still breathing till he told them every last bit of information.

"It’s alright now, Hyung," Seojin said, patting his back and stroking his hair while he buried his face in his chest. "No one can hurt you now." His eyes glowed. "We won’t let them."

"H-how did you find me anyway?" Dongwoo answered, cleaning his eyes with Seojin’s shirt.

"They hijacked Geumtae’s car," Seojun explained.

"Oh no, is Geumtae okay?" Dongwoo asked, causing them to click their tongues.

"You’re the one who’s all battered up and got kidnapped. You should worry about yourself more." Seojin said. "In any case, he’s fine. And we were able to get here because Lily was underneath one of the seats. She has a tracker on her collar,"

Dongwoo looked at Lily, who was leaving her paw after a job well done.

"Ah, it’s no wonder she appeared out of nowhere." He said and felt dizzy again.

Dongwoo smiled weakly and said, "Thanks, Lily... You saved me."

Lily let out a single pur. It looked like she was proud. Yes, after all, she was one proud cat.

Seojin held him firmly.

"I got you, Hyung. Let’s get out of here now."

"Wait, wait," Dongwoo panted. "The truth is, Shinwoo doesn’t know the real person who contacted him." He said and looked up, his eyes heavy from exhaustion. "He got contacted and met a middleman. Even if we leave now we won’t..." He panted heavily.

"Save your strength, Hyung," Seojin said and carried him bridal style.

Dongwoo was too weak and out of breath to even think far into his action. He had lost a lot of blood so he was getting dizzy.

"I get what you’re trying to say." Seojun said. "We’ll keep an eye out for the middle man."

Seojun turned to Shinwoo, his eyes still blazing with anger.

"If there’s a middleman, that means we no longer need him, right?" Seojun asked and Seojin nodded.

Dongwoo wondered what they were talking about but Seojin swiftly turned away from the scene and said,

"We’ll get going now. Your safety is our priority."

On their way out, Lily followed slowly from behind, and then her eyes caught sight of something unusual.

Someone was hiding in the shadows. Someone who wanted to ambush Seojin and Dongwoo.

"Hiss," she let out a loud hiss, and just then, the man in the shadows jumped out with a gun in his hand and aimed it at Dongwoo and Seojin.

He did not waste any time and shot at them before Seojin could react to his presence, but Lily, who had noticed him first, threw her body on the gun.

The plan was probably to avert the target of the gun but when he pulled the trigger, he pulled it on her.

Dongwoo’s eyes widened as he saw Lily’s body fall to the floor. It was as if his world had come to a stop in that single second.

"Fucking beast, die." The guy shot at Lily’s body two more times with a lot of annoyance since Lily had disrupted their work over and over.

He seemed to have forgotten in that moment that he was aiming for and the two in front of him. So, by the time he raised his head to shoot at his target, a bullet had found its way deep into his skull.

Dongwoo’s eyes slowly followed the point of the gunshot and traced back to Seojun who had his hand stretched out and a smoking gun.

"Fucking bastard! How dare you?!"
