Chapter 363: But why would someone offer a billion for this one?
It was dark. Dongwoo woke up to a stuffy, dark mass and the smell of old rags. Hm, he had a sack on his head, that much he couldn’t tell.
But... Where was he? Had he been kidnapped? He wondered as he tried to make out his current situation.
’My hands are tied.’ he thought. ’And so are my legs. I’m on a cold concrete floor, and... There seem to be a few guys around. What happened? My head hurts. I think I’m bleeding.’
Dongwoo tried to take in deep breaths and understand carefully what was going on but his thoughts were intercepted when he heard footsteps approaching and a man said,
"We checked everywhere to make sure we weren’t being followed." They said. "So, we’re clear."
Their voice was unfamiliar, so Dongwoo could conclude that it was a stranger, but the person who spoke next...
"In that case, no one is coming to save this one this time." Their voice was awfully familiar.
So awfully that he felt shivers run down his spine.
"Alright, I think it’s time to wake him up."
It was Shinwoo.
What in the world? Did he plan all this? Was he the one who kidnapped him? But why go so far?
He felt someone lifting him up from the floor and they dropped him on a chair.
"Gosh, to appease Haijin’s humiliation and disgrace, I have to mess up the one those bastards treasure the most." Shinwoo said. "But what a coincidence that someone else wants him just as much as I do. I’m being paid a billion won for this man whore, it’s not fair that he’s so expensive."
Dongwoo furrowed his eyebrows.
So, he was doing this for Song Haijin. Well, that was understandable, given how much she had been disgraced. She can’t take it out with the twins, so she decided to take it out on him.
That was so like her.
But... what was that about someone paying a billion won for him? That was a lie, right? Who would pay that much for a nobody like him?
Yeah, he was a famous photographer but he wasn’t ’that’ famous. Or... Were they planning to use him against the twins?
He couldn’t understand any of it and while he was pretending to still be unconscious, curiosity was eating at him.
"But why would someone offer a billion for this one?" One of the men asked but Shinwoo shrugged his shoulders.
"I have no idea. But given that they want him intact and unarmed, they just want to put him to good use." He sneered, eyeing Dongwoo like he was some sort of meal he was ready to eat. "How knows? They probably want to sell his pretty body and pretty face for a nice price in the market."
"Do people still do such things?"
"I don’t know. They’re rich people. Who knows what they’re thinking? But..." He grinned. "I would very much like to get a taste of what I was deprived of for so long."
Dongwoo gulped. No, not this again.
He hoped it wouldn’t come to this because if he did...
’I can already feel my body trembling. No, this isn’t good. I have to get my act together.’ Dongwoo thought to himself. ’I have to use my brain and not past experiences.’
"Hey, wake him up."
Someone yanked the sackcloth from Dongwoo’s head, and they all stared at him in his unconscious state. His face looked flawless as his head dangled down and his hair cascaded his skin.
"Well, I have to admit, he is quite the looker." One said, his cheeks lightly flushing from the sight but Shinwoo frowned.
"Hey, he’s not for you to look out. I said wake him up, not gawk at his face." Shinwoo ordered, his tongue laced with displeasure.
He hated that these brutes had their eyes on Dongwoo. They weren’t worthy, honestly, but it would be fun to watch him struggle as they tried to take advantage of him.
In that situation, he would call out to him to save him, and then... He gloated, thinking of how good it would feel for Dongwoo to ask him for help.
Until the person who paid for his capture arrived, he would humiliate him just as much as Song Haijin was humiliated.
Truth be told, he wasn’t doing it for her sake. He just wanted Dongwoo for himself. So, even if it was for a short period... He licked his lips disgustingly... He would savor it.
The man was about to pour cold water on Dongwoo to wake him up when Dongwoo decided it was time to wake up and put his measly acting skills into practice.
"Ugh... Where..." He glanced around with lazy eyes and as soon as his eyes landed on Shinwoo, they widened. "Shin... Shinwoo? What’s going on? And where..." He looked at his tied hands and tied feet, his eyes trembling in fear. "What is going on here? Why am I tied up?"
"Oh, sleeping beauty didn’t need a wake-up call after all." Shinwoo exclaimed, and Dongwoo gulped, sweat dripping down ten corners of his face.
’So far, so good; he doesn’t know I’ve been awake all this while. I think my acting is convincing enough.’ Dongwoo thought. "What is the meaning of this, Shinwoo? Why do you have me bound?"
"Because it’s a very nice look on you." Shinwoo said, getting closer to him. "You know, you’ve been running wild with those two buddies of yours and carrying your weight. It got so annoying that I decided it was time to teach you where you belong."
"Where I... Where I belong?" He blinked. "Did I originally belong anywhere?"
"Of course." Shinwoo answered. "You belong in the cage I built for you. But it was too bad that you ran, even hot me arrested and shit like that. I have so many things to make you pay for."
"S-so, is that why you kidnapped me?" Dongwoo asked. "Because you want to lock me back in a cage for your amusement and your fulfillment?"
"Ah, I wish I could do that. I really wish I could. But unfortunately, someone else wants you." He said. "So, why don’t we have a little bit of fun for now?"
Dongwoo gulped, his eyes roaming around and counting how many men were present.
There were a total of five and if he assumed two were outside keeping watch, then they were seven in today. Eight, with Shinwoo, included.
He gulped. He wasn’t trained enough for this. So, he had to pay it safe.
"Now, let’s--" Shinwoo’s words were interrupted when his phone rang. He picked it up right there but started taking a few steps away. "Yes, we have him. He is unharmed."
Dongwoo glanced around one more time, looking at the men who had eyes on him. They wouldn’t even look away for a moment. What were they looking at? And what did they hope to gain from looking at him so much?
The person who wanted him asked that he be brought unharmed, so he was confident that they wouldn’t harm him, but... Who was this person and what exactly did they need him for?
The only way to escape whatever torment was waiting for him on the other side would be to escape from there as soon as possible.
"Tsk, bummer." Shinwoo exclaimed as he came back. "They’ll be here in about three hours at the least to pick him up."
Dongwoo’s eyes widened.
"Who? Who is it?"
"Oh, I don’t know." Shinwoo said. "They never revealed their identity. But I believe you’ll know once you get there. And since we don’t have much time, shall we have a little bit of fun first?"
"H-hey," Dongwoo called, his tone a bit frightened. "How... How long has it been since I got here?"
"Why? It doesn’t matter if you know." Shinwoo said.
"Ah, that... That’s because..." Dongwoo gulped. "I haven’t really used the restroom since this morning, and I suddenly feel like I need..." He glanced at them. "...to ’go’."
Silence followed his words but then Shinwoo laughed.
"I’m not a kid, Dongwoo. I know you just want to find a way to escape." Shinwoo said. "It’s only been two hours since we brought you here. It’ll be dark soon since it’s a little past five but that doesn’t mean..." He looked at Dongwoo’s pressing expression.
Dongwoo was told that when trying to convince a kidnapper, words don’t work, but expressions speak louder.
So, if he acted like he was really pressed, then they would have no choice but to believe him.
He wrapped his legs together, barely shifting on his chair while his expression twisted.
"It’s fine if you don’t believe me..." He said. "I... I’ll just try to hold it but I doubt I’ll be able to hold it for long. So, please, don’t take it out on me if I wet myself."
Shinwoo frowned. Was he telling the truth? He didn’t want to fall for a trick.
"Stop wiggling, dammit. I’ll take you to go take a piss, but I’m not releasing your legs or your hands." He said and Dongwoo nodded.
"Yes, thank... Thank you." He said but Shinwoo mocked him with a sneer.
"Moron, you’re still such a fool. Who thanks their kidnappers?"
’Well, you’ll be allowing me to see exactly what kind of situation I’m in and what my environment looks like, so why not?’ Dongwoo thought. ’Between you and I, you’re the moron.’
