Chapter 361: I’m fine, Minwoo
Chapter 361: I’m fine, Minwoo
"You two..." Dongwoo pointed at them both. "I’ve heard what I came for, so I’m going to go back to the hospital. Come to me when you’ve both patched yourselves up and reconciled."
With that, he turned and walked away, not allowing anyone to stop him.
The crew members watched him leave and turned to each other,
"Is this going to be okay?"
"Won’t you go and stop him?" Haejoo asked the twins but they did not respond. "I don’t know, but I feel like if you do nothing right now and he walks out of this building alone, you will regret it."
They kept his words in mind but they did not have the courage to go after him. Not after what they had made him go through. How they had messed with his heart.
Seojun, in particular, had no heart to face him. He was ashamed.
Dongwoo made his way out of the company through the security man’s door as well. Though the news had been clarified, the front was still parked with a mob that was fighting with themselves. Seojin’s supported against Song Haijin’s supporters.
Even the reporters stayed there, hoping to get a statement from the company CEO or Seojin himself.
Dongwoo watched this and shook his head, making sure to get away from them as soon as he could since his name was also dragged into the mess.
For a moment, he sat in the park, swinging his legs and thinking. From one mess to another... Their lives weren’t as peaceful as it was.
He thought everything would end with Minwoo getting hurt but it didn’t. The twins fought with each other and Seojun... He could’ve broken Seojin’s jaw all for a misunderstanding.
He covered his face. He couldn’t even think of it. It was too depressing.
"I’ll wait here for a while to clear my head. I’m sure it’s going to be fine, now that everything’s been cleared up." He told himself and watched the leaves fall in silence.
Winter was coming.
He sighed and got up from the bench.
"I think I’ve spent enough time here." He said to himself. "I’ll go see Minwoo and then head home. I’m tired."
On his way to the hospital, he called Minwoo.
"So, how was it?" Minwoo asked. "You got the facts clear, right? I saw the update and--"
"I’m fine, Minwoo." Dongwoo interrupted him. "And before getting there, I already knew it wasn’t Seojin. I just wanted to know why he was in the bar with Song Haijin in the first place."
"Oh, that’s good. Are you with them now?" Minwoo asked but Dongwoo stayed silent, his gaze slowly falling in disappointment.
"No, I’m coming back to the hospital. They... Fought." He sighed. "Seojun thought Seojin cheated and wanted to teach him a lesson. Seojin stayed silent too, so they fought and... I’m mad at it all. They’re both so stubborn and reckless and..." He sighed. "I just need some time away from them."
"Ah, I understand that they’re reckless, but I just don’t get if the screws in their heads keep getting lost or if they’re already gone. Seriously, they both need help." He said, and Dongwoo managed to smile, but it wasn’t a smile that could stay on his lips for a long time.
"Anyway, I’m on my way. I think I’ll be there in a few minutes."
"Yeah, sure. I’ll be waiting. Sungho is still here anyway." Minwoo said and Dongwoo nodded.
He cut the call and rested his back on the chair, sighing afterward.
He covered his face,
Maybe he said too much. He couldn’t get the twins’ saddened faces from his mind.
"They hate it when I’m disappointed." He muttered and then the cab pulled up in front of the hospital.
"We’re here."
"Oh, right. Thank you." He got down, paid the fate, and sighed one more time.
He took out his phone and called Taiha.
"Hey, Kiddo. Heard you left already." Taiha said and Dongwoo responded,
"Yes, Sunbae. I decided to come meet Minwoo at the hospital. I couldn’t stay there for much longer."
"And yet you call. Are you worried about them?" Taiha asked, hitting the nail on its head.
Dongwoo pursed his lips and said,
"Yes, how are they doing?"
"Well, they are just the way you left them. I doubt we’ll be getting any work done."
Dongwoo sighed. He was making his way up the hospital. He already knew where Minwoo’s room was in, so he didn’t have to ask around for it.
"Will you come get them or should I just send them home?" He asked and Dongwoo contemplated.
"Tell them to head home. I’ll..." His words were cut short when someone sneaked up on him from behind and struck him with a rod. "Argh!"
His phone fell from his hand and he lost consciousness right away.
"Hey, kiddo." Taiha called after hearing the crash. "Are you there? What’s going on? Say something."
The one who struck Dongwoo picked up the cracked phone and tossed it in the trash.
"Dammit! What happened?" Taiha got worried.
He heard a loud bang, Dongwoo groaned in pain, and then nothing. That was not a good sign.
"Hey, you two," he called, barging into the office but they kept their heads down, dispirited. "Get your asses up. I think the kiddo needs you."
This made them raise their head and Doha asked,
"What happened, Ahjusshi?"
"I was talking to him on the phone and the next thing I heard was a loud bang and then a crash. I think he dropped the phone. He groaned as well. I think..." He looked up to find them with widened eyes as if they were struck with something horrifying. It was terrifying, their gaze. "Someone attacked him."
"Where is he?" Seojin asked, getting up right away. "Where is Hyung?" He yelled, even to the extent of grabbing Taiha’s shirt with his eyes blazing in anger.
"He said he was at the hospital, going to meet Minwoo. So, you’d find him--" Seojin dashed out of there, not waiting for Taiha to finish his words.
"Ah, I hope nothing bad happened." Doha exclaimed, equally worried. "But..." she glanced back at Seojun, who was still seated with bloodshot eyes and a trembling body. "...Is he okay?"
Seojun could not believe it. He could not believe what he just heard. Something had happened to his Hyung? Just when he had left, looking so disappointed in them.
’Calm down. Calm down.’ he told himself. If something happened to Dongwoo, he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself. He would never ever since he caused this.
He took out his phone and called his people,
"Surround central hospital, right away. Do not let anyone suspicious leave the premises."
They watched him make that call and wondered if he was a secret boss or something. He just acted like one of those Mafia bosses.
Seojun sighed and then called Minwoo.
Who knows? It might just be a false alarm and Dongwoo might be with Minwoo. He hoped that was the case.
The falling and everything... He hoped it was just an accident and Dongwoo was perfectly fine.
"Are you calling for lessons on how to apologize to your lover?" Minwoo asked with a cheerful voice. "Don’t worry, I don’t change much. Just a hundred dollars per minute."
"Minwoo," Seojun called, his tone still so serious that Minwoo immediately realized that something was wrong. "Is Hyung with you?"
"Well, not yet. He said he’d be here soon." He answered. "What’s the matter? Can’t reach him?"
Seojun covered his face, his heart thumping alarmingly.
"Is anyone with you there?" He asked.
"Yes, Sungho is here, but what’s going on? You sound disturbed."
"Please," Seojun pleaded which came out as shocking. "Ask Sungho to look for Hyung around the hospital. I hope it’s not true but Hyung might’ve been kidnapped on his way to you."
"What?!" Minwoo exclaimed but Seojun already cut the call.
Minwoo was greatly disturbed.
"No, how could this happen? When did this happen? This must be a joke, right?" He wanted to get down but Sungho stopped him.
"Hey, where are you going? You can’t walk on your own, remember?"
"I can’t sit here and do nothing. I have to..." He struggled but Sungho put him down on the bed. "I have to find Hyung."
"Wait, what happened? Tell me."
"Sungho, help me find Dongwoo. He’s supposed to be here any minute now, and if you see anything suspicious on the way, tell me right away."
"Suspicious like what?"
"I don’t know, anything. Blood, his... His phone, any piece of his clothes. Just..." His hand trembled as he gripped Songho hard. "Find something. I just found him, I can’t lose him again. I can’t lose my Hyung, Sungho."
Sungho looked worriedly at him. Something happened to Dongwoo?
"Alright, I got it. Stay here. I’ll be back. I’ll go find him and be back right away. So please, don’t stress yourself."
He said and left the room.
There was only one direction one could follow on the way down to Minwoo’s ward, so he followed that path.
Towards the elevator, he carefully searched. And then he saw a little blood stain on the floor. It was faint, but he noticed there were other blood drops that had been cleaned, leaving faint red stains and a path to follow.
"Oh no," he exclaimed and followed the path to see it lead to the emergency stairs.
He hurried back, planning to tell Minwoo about it when he saw a trashcan next to where he saw the first blood stain.
Something could’ve been thrown there, right?
He checked, just in case, only to find Dongwoo’s shattered phone. His eyes widened.
"Oh no. No, no, no, no." He shoved his fingers through his pink lush hair. "This can’t be happening."
