Chapter 357: I thought she finally broke free
Alfonso was slowly running mad. A twin? How in the world was he supposed to know it was twin? And Lorina? That woman! She knew all of it yet she approached him, spewing lies about his wife. She deceived him. She made him rip out of his light with no remorse.
Oh no! Oh no! What was he going to do? His wife...his wife who loved him so much. How could he have been blinded? And she was carrying another of his children. Oh, how cruel he had been.
At that moment, warm memories he had locked in his heart began to escape. She was always so radiant, smiling and calling out to him. She was always so beautiful. His face was filled with despair. He couldn’t live with himself after knowing this fact. He was going mad.
Soon enough, Allegra had the upper hand. Driving her father to madness was never something she thought she would do but...he had forced her hands. Besides, he needed to suffer, just as he made his children suffer. And in no time, she had him chipped to a psychiatric ward while keeping things under wraps.
The only way she could think of to get Alejandro back to the country, expose his deeds, and get him arrested for a few years was to use the old trick Alfonso had been using to keep him under control.
Back in Korea, Alejandro was deep in thought, annoyance, and worry clouding his thinking. Things weren’t supposed to go this way, he thought. The kitten wasn’t wasn’t supposed to her caught in any of this. He cracked his knuckles, frustrated. He wanted to act as the villain but not at the expense of the person he wanted.
"Boss." One of his subordinates called and he raised his head. "It’s from the head of the house." Hearing that, he clicked his tongue angrily, what did that bastard want to do at a time like this?
"Answer it." Alejandro said but his man was hesitant.
"B-but..."
"Just answer it. Hear what he has to say and if it’s crap, don’t tell me. My blood is already boiling as it is." He was moody because of what had happened with Minwoo.
He almost spilled the bunny’s blood.
His man nodded and answered the call. He heard what the person on the other side had to say, nodded, and ended the call.
"So? Is it crap?" He folded his arms. "Though I don’t expect anything good from that old man."
"Actually, boss, it was the butler who called." He said and Alejandro paused. "He said that the boss’s sister is being held captive by your father. And he plans to send her to one of his business partners’ bed."
"What?!" Alejandro exclaimed, shocked. "That old fool! How can he think of doing such a thing to his own daughter?"
Alejandro shoved his fingers through his hair, frustrated. Nothing was going his way at all.
"I thought she finally broke free." He muttered. "But she went back to him. Why? Why does she want to keep suffering?" His expression was pained and anguished. He didn’t know what to do at this point. He wanted to be the villain, but didn’t the villains get whatever they wanted at the end? So why did it feel like he was losing more?
Alejandro got up and said
"Prepare. We’ll leave first thing tomorrow."
"Yes, boss."
No matter what, his priority was his sister. So, after finally getting to free her of her shackles, he would come back and make things right. Maybe if he approached more gently...maybe his bunny would hop towards him again.
Ah, but would they want that? He didn’t want to make another mistake that would end up breaking his bunny.
Maybe... He shouldn’t come back after all.
Alejandro was a man who had never experienced the feeling of love. The only love he could recall was a distant memory of his mother and his sister, who always stood up for him at the expense of her own smile. She was an angel.
An angel who was always being bruised and wounded. An angel who could not fly because her beautiful wings were plucked. An angel with no freedom. She looked at him with a smile on her lips and said the words;
"Don’t worry, it’s alright." She brushed his hair softly. "I’m here with you. I won’t let them hurt you. They’ll have to go through me first before they can get to you, got it?"
She said these words to him, trying to comfort him when her back bled.
Maybe that was why he felt so devoted to her and would do anything for her. He never disobeyed her, and this time, he went against her warning and went after the guy she warned him not to.
Maybe that was why he was this mess. Maybe that was why he ended up hurting him, even if he never wanted to.
His sister was an angel, even now, and she knew him best, so she had his best interest when warning him.
Before leaving the country, Alejandro decided to see Minwoo. This may very much be his last time because he had no idea what would transpire when he got back to the country.
Dongwoo sat next to Minwoo, clutching his hand and wishing for him to open his eyes. It was just the second day after he was put out of danger but to Dongwoo, it felt too long. He needed to thank him, as well as apologize, but how was he going to do all that if he was unconscious?
"Please, Minwoo, please wake up."
Seojin placed his hand on Dongwoo’s shoulder, and Dongwoo raised his face to show his tear-filled eyes.
"Hyung." Seojin called and went down on one knee to help him clean the tears in his eyes.
"It’s going to be alright." He said. "I know it."
Seojin was hurting and it was because Dongwoo was hurting. He never thought they would be shedding tears anytime soon. This...was unexpected.
Seojin hugged Dongwoo and looked towards Sungho who was seated on the other side, watching Minwoo closely and not allowing himself the liberty of tears.
Seojin watched him and thought
’He’s putting up with this quite well.’
If the person on the bed had happened to be Dongwoo then he was sure he would’ve lost it. And not just him, Seojun too.
"What are you doing here, uncle?" Seojun’s sudden outburst outside the hospital ward caught their attention. Seojin raised his head to look towards the door in annoyance.
"Wait here, Hyung." He said. "I’ll go take a look at what’s going on outside." He was about to leave when Dongwoo caught his hand, giving him a look that said he wasn’t going to sit idly by.
It wasn’t hard for Alejandro to find out which hospital they took Minwoo to. Hm, maybe he should’ve called beforehand because it looked like they were taking him as a serious threat.
"Haven’t you done enough?" Seojun asked. "I will not let you walk through this door, even if it kills me, uncle." Seojun declared.
He was well aware of what happened before Minwoo was involved in that accident. And so long as his uncle was around, his Hyung was in danger at all times.
"Hold your horses, I just want to take a look, no harm done." Alejandro said, taking subtle peaks at ward behind Seojun.
"Uncle, I don’t know what you intend to do but I’m certain you didn’t come this far just to take a look and leave." Seojun’s voice sounded like an angry grunt as he glared at his uncle, facing an opponent he knew he could never win. But even so, it was better than letting him walk in and then hurting Dongwoo.
"What do you want?" Dongwoo’s voice echoed from behind and Seojun’s eyes widened.
He turned around to see Dongwoo and Seojin coming out of the ward. What were they doing? Why was Dongwoo exposing himself to danger?
"Don’t you think you’ve done enough damage?"
"Yeah, I think I have." Alejandro said, attempting to walk past Seojun and towards the ward, but Seojun stretched out his hand, using his body as a shield and not allowing Alejandro to go any further towards Dongwoo, for fear that he may pull a crazy stunt.
Alejandro took one good look at Seojun’s fierce resolve and sighed.
"And that’s why it’s time for me to leave."
Dongwoo pressed his lips together.
"And is that supposed to make us happy?" He asked, taking risky steps towards Alejandro. "Given the damage you caused, your leaving doesn’t mean we’ll be overjoyed." He reached his hand out and grabbed Alejandro’s shirt. "My brother is in this state because of you. Because of some sick amusement, you derive from torturing us and getting your way. My brother is..." His grip tightened but then it loosened. He released his shirt and turned away. "You have no right to see him. So just leave quickly. At least, you won’t do any more damage." Dongwoo said.
