Chapter 356: Get me a First Aid Box

"So what?" Alfonso suddenly spoke up. "I simply punished that woman for her infidelity. Things wouldn’t have gone down that path if she hadn’t cheated on..."

Allegra punched him right in the face. And after the impact, Alfonso realized that it wasn’t a simple fist punch.

"I picked up a habit from one of my boys." She said, flinging her fists and rubbing her wrist. She opened her clenched fist and showed the knuckle brace in her hand. "And I think I made the right choice." She said, her tone shrouded with irritation.

Alfonso couldn’t believe what had just happened. He could feel his jaw torn from the inside and a couple of loose teeth. He touched the blood leaking out of his mouth, and his eyes went red with rage. He got furious and yelled at her.

"Have you gone mad?!" He yelled and earned another punch at the other side of his cheek.

"With how you’re yelling, I can tell your face is doing just fine after that punch so let me serve you some more." She said, no ounce of remorse in her expression.

She was cold.

"Kids aren’t the only ones who should be disciplined." She snorted and added. "Old men like you need to be knocked out once or twice for you to see that you’re wrong." She grabbed his collar, glaring viciously at him. "The more I think about it, the more I hate you. I also despise myself for throwing my life away just to get your approval."

Then, her cold display began to melt, her eyes began to soften and tears glistened on them.

"I regret that I threw my own happiness away just to see you happy and pleased with me, only for all that to be useless. I regret everything. You didn’t deserve our sacrifices. You didn’t deserve our lives. You...you are a monster." She let go of his collar, cleaned her tears with her sleeves, and said, "Now, it is time for you to regret it." She turned around. "Since you care for no one but yourself, I don’t know if finding out the truth will move your frozen heart, but I hope it does."

She glanced over her shoulder, showing her disgust for this man who was her father, and declared, "I hope you wallow in despair for the rest of your life. I’m leaving and this may very well be the last time you set your eyes on me."

She shut the door and sighed.

Alfonso had a rush of agonizing, livid, and threatening expressions on his face. How dare she hit her father like a mad woman? How dare she speak of things she had no idea of? She was a child at that time, so she wouldn’t understand.

But how did she come in contact with that actor? He fed her lies and she believed. He didn’t raise her to be so naive and stupid. His children were a lost cause.

He was about to reach for a tissue to clean the blood in his mouth when his sight fell on the journal. His hands slowed down but he reached for the tissue anyway and then picked up the telephone on the desk, calling his assistant.

"Get me a First Aid box." He simply said and dropped the telephone. Once again, his eyes fell on the journal. He saw no need to take a look at it but he was curious what sort of despair his unfilial daughter hoped to bring to him by dropping the journal of his cheating ex-wife on his desk.

So, he picked it up and flipped the pages. By the time his assistant arrived with the First Aid box and a doctor, in case it was an emergency that a First Aid box could not fix, they found Alfonso wailing in bitter agony, and in front of him was a worn-out journal opened, and a little ultra scan picture on it.

Alfonso... regretted it.

Alfonso was a man of pride and did not go back on his words. He felt there was nothing in the world that could make him regret his last decisions or how he trained his children. But at this point, he was more than regretful. He just... couldn’t live anymore. And all it took was a little dose of the truth.

"July 7th, I found out I had a lost twin sister, and she was in the entertainment industry. Isn’t that exciting?

July 15th, I found out my twin sister had a crush on one of the actors in her company. He is pretty famous and has a handsome face but no one beats my Alfonso, of course. He is my Prince Charming and the only man I will ever look at.

July 30th, I missed my period. Ah, I knew what this meant. After having Alejandro, I finally understand how this works. I’m so happy. I will go to the hospital, get a scan, and then break the news to my darling husband on his birthday. He is going to be very excited. Oh, and I think I’ll finally tell him about my sister. He’s going to be very shocked.

August 2nd, I told Lorina about the pregnancy and she was more than happy to help me plan the surprise. I even introduced her to my sister. She was confused but her reaction was cute. There’s no one I trust more than her.

August 10th, I think my Alfonso is starting to catch on that I’m keeping a secret from him. Oh, what do I do? I don’t want to ruin the surprise.

August 15th, my sister finally confessed her feelings to the actor she likes so much. I’m so happy for them. They kissed too. Thanks to Lorina’s idea, it all worked out.

August 17th, I visited the hospital again and I’m so happy that it’s a boy. I got another scan to get a clearer view of the baby in my womb. Alfonso will be very happy. I’m going to give him another son and make him a father once more. I wish for nothing more than happiness for my darling husband and our children. I want nothing more than to see them smile. I love them so much that it makes me cry.

August 18th..." The page after that was blank but there was the ultrasound scan of the son she was carrying in her womb.

There was no more tale to tell thereafter.

(So, folks, we can all see that Alfonso is going to suffer regret for the rest of his life. Poor lady, she didn’t deserve this. This is why it’s best to know the kind of friends you keep. And even if you can’t read their thoughts, read their expressions sometimes and never think you’re overthinking. It could cost you your life.

Jealousy is a strong manipulator, so you never know when your closest friend might get manipulated into throwing you into death’s bed. RIP, Allegra’s mom (I don’t remember if I gave her a name so let me not give a random name at this point). In any case, she died with their unborn sibling and Alfonso dirtied his hands. It was all him.

We can also see why Allegra was able to give birth to twins. It was in her mother’s blood, apparently.

hey were twins. She felt it.

’Please, take them away from her.’ she pleaded. ’I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I’m the reason you may have to suffer. I am... So sorry.’

She hoped they could get away but her first wish was for the ’child’ to get away and not the ’children’.

She shook her head. She couldn’t do it anymore.

This sadness, this loneliness, and this pain. She couldn’t put up with it anymore.

She climbed the bridge and closed her eyes, wishing all the best for the children. May they have a happy ending and not end up like her.

She fell down the bridge, her tears falling and she closed her eyes. But as she hit the water, she got to see a life she had never lived while sinking deeper into the water.

A happy life. Having a family of her own and smiling. She was smiling.

Two little boys running around her and laughing. She was so happy.

A smile played on her cheek as she sank to the bottom.

The vision of a life she never lived was the only thing that could put a smile on her face. All through her life... She had never been happy.

Mrs Lee, sitting in her car that was parked a little distance away, sighed and said,

"Good riddance to bad rubbish. Seriously, it was about time." She looked at her stomach.
