Chapter 335: It was Hard

Chapter 335: It was Hard

Geumtae and Eunwoo were left to eat alone. Geumtae stared at the food on the table while Eunwoo shifted quite awkwardly

They were alone, he thought. Was Geumtae going to stand and leave now that Dongwoo had left? He saw it like that.

After all, he did not have any reason to stay and eat with him.

"Hey," Geumtae called, causing him to flinch. He raised his gaze, his face slightly flushed, and one would wonder if it was because of the wine or because he was nervous. "With all the food on the table," he leaned forward and rested his chin on his palm, where his elbow was already pinned to the table like a peg. "...do you think I would eat you?"

"E-excuse me?" Eunwoo blinked and gulped, confused. What did that mean?

"You’re acting like I’m a hungry beast that would suddenly attack you." Geumtae explained quite sharply.

He dropped his elbows, picked up the cutlery in front of him, and then raised his gaze to look at Eunwoo, who was still staring at him.

The hat he was wearing wasn’t covering much of his face, but he was plainly dressed in a light brown T-shirt and a jacket tied around his waist.

He must’ve already been comfortable at the company for him to dress so comfortably.

"Are you going to eat or keep staring at me?" Geumtae asked. "I’m used to getting stared at a lot, but the latter would make me quite uncomfortable while ingesting this masterpiece, so please don’t do that."

"Ah, right. I’m sorry." He scuffled, bowing his head and reaching for his fork, but his movements were quite rigid and scattered, so instead of picking up the fork, he knocked it down.

The loud clanging sound on the floor didn’t seem to attract attention to their table but it was awkward.

He pursed his lips, feeling he was making one too many mistakes. His eyes rolled towards Geumtae to find him chewing nonchalantly and not paying heed to his actions.

’I hope he doesn’t get mad.’ he thought and bent down to pick it up but his hand on the table knocked the glass down.

It could’ve crashed on his head but Geumtae was rather fast about his reaction. He got up right away and slapped the glass away.

It broke but not on Eunwoo’s head.

Eunwoo, confused, raised his head to find Geumtae sighing and shaking his head.

"Are you always this rowdy?" He asked and raised his hand to beckon the waiter. "Or is it because you’re nervous?"

Eunwoo felt a little gag in his throat. He looked at Geumtae and then at the glass that had broken.

What just happened? He wondered.

"I don’t have a habit of wasting food," Geumtae suddenly said. "So I advise you to just sit and not make things difficult for either of us. Unless you want to leave."

The atmosphere between them seemed to tense up and Eunwoo slowly lowered his head, bitting and suppressing the odd feeling in his chest.

He gripped his hand tight.

Why was he making a mistake at a time like this? He was already given an opportunity to talk to Geumtae, so... Why couldn’t he use it?

It was as if his brain wouldn’t function properly and he was making mistakes he wouldn’t make on a normal day.

It was hard.

Geumtae watched his expression melt into sadness even with his face lowered. Hmm, why did it feel like he was bullying him?

"Where’s that boldness you had when you grabbed my hand and confessed to me?" Geumtae suddenly asked, causing Eunwoo to flinch.

He raised his gaze sharply to look at Geumtae sipping from his glass.

"You know, that relentless stubbornness. The one you wouldn’t let go of when you were so sure I was your destined partner." Geumtae’s words... Eunwoo could not understand properly.

He didn’t know if he was saying this to taunt him, remind him of his past deeds, or... If he was saying this to stop his nervous breakdown.

"I don’t know." Eunwoo suddenly answered, quite an unexpected response. "I don’t know how to act like that in front of you when everything has become an uncertainty. I don’t want to get you upset and sick to your stomach with words like that anymore and I don’t want to continue making assumptions based on a family heritage. It’s my problem, so I should fix it myself. It’s not right to force it on you."

His eyes grew teary. What was he saying? He was practically blowing his chances. But... He didn’t know what else to do. He was at a loss here.

"And yet you still came to dinner," Geumtae added. "Was it not so you could score a few brownie points with me?"

"It was. But... I think it’s better if I gave up on ideas like that, focus on putting my life in order, and not disturb others about my problems." He clenched his fists. "I’m really sorry if I burdened you. It was reckless of me. I... I just want to go now."

Geumtae watched him. So, he finally gave up the idea.

Or was this a plot to get him interested in him?

You know, like those dramas where the girl leaves the guy who has no interest in them, only for the guy to start missing them and realize he actually had feelings for her.

Absence makes the heart fonder, they say.

Well, in this case, they’ve only met twice or thrice and exchanged only a few words, so they were next to strangers.

His heart would not be stolen when they shared no memories and never exchanged happy gazes.

Well, this was for the best. At least, now he wouldn’t keep coming to him with silly ideas.

"I... I’ll go now. Sorry for wasting your time." He said and raised his head to reveal his tear-filled face.

As soon as Geumtae saw the tears and contorted sadness on his face, his heart skipped a beat.

Well, that was unusual.

He stared at Eunwoo’s face and the question that came to mind, instead of wondering why he was crying all of a sudden, happened to be... How could someone suddenly look so cute?

Ah, it was like a fire had suddenly ignited in his heart, a dangerous desire. Of all times, one would wonder.

He stared at Eunwoo with interest in his eyes and said,

"So, will you just leave me to finish this food alone?" He asked and Eunwoo looked at the food. It was quite a lot. Could he just leave like that? "You know, I wouldn’t mind you staying for a bit, as long as I don’t end up eating alone."

Eunwoo nodded. ’I see. He hates eating alone but would never leave the food to rot.’

He carefully picked up another fork this time and then stared at the food. He felt heavy at heart so he wasn’t sure he would eat a lot.

He would just eat a little and waste a bit of time till Geumtae was done. After that, he cleaned his eyes with the back of his palm and sniffed; he would never appear before him again.

That was the plan, and honestly, that would’ve definitely been the way things would’ve gone if only Geumtae had not suddenly set his eyes on the tears of this poor, innocent fellow.

Geumtae, instead of keeping his eyes on the food, kept his eyes on Eunwoo, and it made Eunwoo feel like he was trying to make sure he ate properly, but in truth, Geumtae was trying to figure out how he hid that cuteness.

That teary face was a sight he would like to see again.

Ah, what would it look like if he cried underneath him, pleading for him to stop as he... Geumtae snapped out of it.

Christ, where were these thoughts coming from?

Then, he realized something. He covered his mouth and looked away, his eyes widened in shock. This couldn’t be happening, right? At a time like this?

The thought he had unconsciously harbored seemed to have been wild enough to give him a boner in public.

When was the last time such a thing happened to him? He couldn’t remember.

He was always able to remain calm, so for him to suddenly get a boner from thinking about Eunwoo crying underneath him, then this was serious.

’Am I just pent up?’ he wondered. ’I haven’t visited a club or done it in a while, so this must be it. Then, should I grab any willing guy to shove my cock in this night?’ he wondered and his gaze subconsciously traveled to Eunwoo.

He snapped out of it soon enough, shaking his head and focusing his head on the food in front of him.

He was sure anyone could make him hard at this point because he was pent up. So, thinking of anyone besides Eunwoo would... His boner died down.

’Hm, that’s interesting.’ Thinking of anyone aside from Eunwoo killed his boner. ’Should I be glad about this or worried?’

It was strange either way he looked at it. Well, for now, he needed to not get hard so he wouldn’t think about it till he was done eating.

But halfway through, he started thinking of Eunwoo again. It was like a curse or something.

Why was he thinking of him? He wasn’t the first cute guy he saw to cry so why was it different? He gritted his teeth.

He would get to the bottom of this.

"Say, Kang Eunwoo, right?" Geumtae asked and Eunwoo raised his head. "Would you like to grab a few drinks together after we’re done here? And don’t worry, I’m buying."
