Chapter 334: You should’ve just said you were shy

Eunwoo secretly watched Geumtae swipe the strands of his long white hair behind his ear, so he could focus more properly and maybe not let a few strands fall on the food that would arrive soon.

Every action of his, though little, Eunwoo could not help but pick them out.

Geumtae looked so... out of reach too.

He shut his eyes and pursed his lips, wondering, Was this a mistake after all?

Maybe he was rushing things. Maybe his night visions were just there and his destined partner wasn’t Geumtae to begin with.

What if he made a mistake and the moment he saw Geumtae, his face replaced the vaguely faced man in his dreams?

What if he hadn’t been the one after all?

Then... This was definitely a mistake.

Just look at him. He glanced at Geumtae again, who was now smiling at Dongwoo, while teasing him that he would suck his pocket dry no matter what.

He shut his eyes once more, grimacing. Geumtae would never... Look at him like that. Not like how he looked at Dongwoo, nor like how the man in his dreams looked at him.

"Hey," Geumtae called, and Eunwoo snapped out of it, opening his eyes to look at Geumtae who was looking at him.

Ah, why was he looking at him? He looked at Dongwoo who was also looking at him. Did he do anything wrong?

He was getting anxious all of a sudden.

He was usually hot-headed and impatient, but in this situation, he felt like a naive kid, scared of doing something wrong, only to end up getting scolded.

"Are you done looking through the menu?" Geumtae asked, tapping his index finger on the table. "The waiter is waiting."

Eunwoo looked up to see the waiter was also looking at him. He gulped and decided to pick anything quick before he made things even more awkward.

His eyes landed on a familiar dish, and though he never recalled having that dish, he decided to pick it since it was the only familiar option.

Geumtae tilted his head after seeing the option he had picked in the menu, and suddenly laughed, striking them as odd, till he fixed his dreamy gaze on Eunwoo and smiled.

"You have great taste." He said and only then did Eunwoo realize that the reason the dish was so familiar was because it was one of Geumtae’s favorite foods he had memorized.

He lowered his head and blushed. Geumtae had smiled at him. He complimented him.

Dongwoo sighed. At last, some progress. Even if it was little, it was still something.

"So, Geumtae, are you still talking to your online friend?" Dongwoo asked, catching Eunwoo’s attention. He glanced at Geumtae who clicked his tongue in annoyance and said,

"I know they were suspicious. There’s no such thing as meeting your destined one online. He just knew too much to be considered a coincidence." Geumtae complained.

"So, it was a scam?"

"More like an Ex trying to get back at me by making me ’fall in love’ and then get heartbroken. He seriously underestimated me." He explained. "Did he think I would fall in love with someone just because they had so much in common with me? What bullshit."

His eyes fell on Eunwoo who was keenly listening. But once he saw he had been caught, he bowed his head right away to avoid eye contact.

Geumtae sighed.

"So, how did you figure it out?" Dongwoo asked. "Did he slip up?"

"Nah, he didn’t slip. In fact, it was just too perfect for me to be comfortable with. Only someone who knows me inside out could know so much about me. I almost thought it was that little brat Jaeho messing with me, so I had someone track the IP address." He picked up the wine bottle on the table. Poured his glass till it almost overflowed and filled Eunwoo’s glass as well.

He shifted one glass slowly to Eunwoo’s front and then picked up the other.

"Anyway, I found out who the fucker was," he paused, trying to mind his language, and continued. "... And taught him a lesson."

Eunwoo gulped and looked at the glass in front of him.

He was glad Jaeho did not come up with an idea like that. They would’ve been busted.

It seemed like he already knew his brother would suspect him if he pulled a stunt like that, so he didn’t go ahead with it.

He was thankful.

"Aren’t you going to drink up?" Geumtae asked, startling him.

He looked at the glass, at Dongwoo, and then back to Geumtae, pointing at himself.

"For me?" He asked.

"Is there anyone on the other side besides you?" Geumtae asked, sipping his own wine.

Eunwoo looked at the full glass. He didn’t have to fill it, did he?

They hadn’t eaten anything yet, so if he drank this much now, how was he going to stay focused and eat the meal?

"You know," Geumtae called out softly. "It’s rude to reject a drink that’s offered to you." He said.

Eunwoo’s eyes widened. No, he didn’t mean it that way.

"But if you can’t drink, then it’s fine." He reached his hand out to grab the glass but Eunwoo immediately picked it up and started downing like he was crazy.

Geumtae watched him like he was a comical piece and scoffed.

"You should’ve just said you were shy." He said and refilled his own glass

Eunwoo felt his head spin. Maybe he shouldn’t have drunk that fast. His head was beginning to spin.

"Here," Dongwoo passed him a glass of water. "It’s not good to drink so much before the meal, you know." He directed his words to Geumtae, "And I get that you’re trying to prove you don’t have anything against him by being ’friendly’ but it’s too much. You should also be considerate when being ’friendly’." He looked sternly at him and then to Eunwoo, making sure he drank the water and felt better.

Geumtae felt he had just been scolded. He threw his gaze away. He just wanted to get Eunwoo wasted, so he would leave first, but I guess that idea was a bust.

"Huh? Isn’t that your twin, Sweetie?" He said, and Dongwoo thought he was trying to change the topic but when he looked, he indeed saw Minwoo.

Wait, what was Minwoo doing here?

Opposite this fancy yet lesser establishment was a top-quality hotel. It was rated seven-star and had a lot of rich and foreign customers, staying in the suites and lounges.

Why was... Minwoo going into that hotel?

"Is it work?" He mumbled and shook his head. It was his business.

Maybe he was meeting up with a friend. But at an expensive hotel like that? It made him uneasy.

"The people who occupy the rooms in that hotel," Geumtae began, "... Are mostly politicians, rich foreigners, and, of course, businessmen. But... They don’t hold business meetings there. The only meeting held there is between two or more people who want to get their ’naked’ hands dirty."

He glanced at Dongwoo, hoping he understood it clearly and he did.

Minwoo was going in there to... Meet someone other than Sungho.

Or wait, it could be Sungho.

He didn’t know why he was anxious, but he just decided to call and inquire.

He took out his phone, just as the waiter rolled the cart towards their table and unraveled the food.

Dongwoo called Sungho’s phone.

"Um, hey, I was trying to get through to my brother but his phone isn’t going through. Is he there with you? Maybe I could speak to him?" He asked and Sungho went silent.

He took a moment to massage his eyebrows and said,

"Sorry, he’s not here. I got off work alone and I don’t think he’s coming here tonight either." He answered, sounding quite disheartened. "I’m sorry."

"Oh, no, no, it’s fine." Dongwoo said and bit his lip. "I’ll keep trying his number. Thanks." He cut the call and stared at his phone.

The other two at the table stared at him, wondering what he was going to do.

Sungho’s tone was heavy when he responded. So, was Minwoo meeting up with some other guy? Was Sungho aware of this?

Damn, was this why he asked for advice to win his heart?

They might’ve been together as pillow partners but Minwoo’s heart wasn’t with him?

Oh, no, he couldn’t think like that. He clearly remembered that when they were having their therapy section, Minwoo talked about Sungho like he was the world to him.

So, to think he had no feelings for him... His head was a mess.

"I’m sorry, but I gotta go." He said, getting up. "You two can carry on without me. If it turns out to be a misunderstanding, I’ll be back but if I don’t come back then..." He bit his lip and shook his head. "Sorry, I’m bailing, Geumtae. This seems to happen a lot."

"Haha, it happens all the time." Geumtae said but watched him.

He looked so worried and deeply concerned. Well, it was understandable since it was his brother, but he was not a kid.

"Hm, just a word of advice, Sweetie, your brother is not a kid. So, his decisions, whether right or wrong, they don’t have to fall on your shoulders." Dongwoo nodded.

"I understand. And thanks." He glanced at Eunwoo, secretly giving him a thumbs up to use this opportunity to get closer to Geumtae.

This was now how they planned things to go, but an excuse was still an excuse and this time, Geumtae would not suspect a thing.
