Chapter 331: Why would she call him?

Chapter 331: Why would she call him?

At the end of the day, Dongwoo told the twins to go on without him, that he had something to take care of.

He would also eat outside so they could have dinner without him.

"Hyung, where exactly are you...?" Seojun paused.

They wanted to ask where he was going, who he was going with, what he was going to do, and why he didn’t want to take them with him, but then they remembered Dongwoo had given them just as much freedom as he wished they would give him.

He wasn’t their property, he wasn’t their toy. He was a person of his own and his business was his business. They had no right to interfere.

However, there was their dangerous uncle lurking around, probably waiting for the right opportunity to strike with a plan they had no clue about.

But... If it was because they were worried then they could always check his location on the tracking app Dongwoo had installed on his phone on behalf of his worrywart lovers. Hehe.

So, they let him go without any words of complaint and simply told him to stay safe and call as soon as he noticed anything suspicious. If anything were to happen while he was out without them then they would never be able to forgive themselves.

Dongwoo smiled and looked around, just to be sure. They were in their lounge so there was no one.

Then, he planted soft kisses on their forehead.

"Hehe, don’t worry." He said. "I’ll stay safe."

Seojun touched his forehead and Seojin looked away, unsatisfied. But he could not voice it out and just had to look away while Dongwoo left.

"He’ll be fine." Seojin said as if trying to assure himself. "He will be."

"Don’t worry." Seojun said and Seojin lifted his head. "I have people looking around. We may not be able to follow him but with the rats in every corner, it should be fine."

He flicked his lighter a few times to light his cigarette but just before he did, Seojin snatched the cigarette and threw it into the trash.

"Not here." Seojin said, giving him quite a displeased expression. His eyebrows were furrowed, his eyes were slanted and his lips were in a thin line, "Do you want rumors to start spreading?"

"I’m frustrated." Seojun said, sighed, and threw the lighter aside. "I need a few puffs to feel better."

"When are you going to start withdrawing from smoking?" Seojin asked.

Seojun, whose back was pressed to the couch and his head resting upwards so his gaze was directly staring at the ceiling, rolled his eyes towards his twin and then back to the ceiling.

He answered,

"When there’s nothing that will make me feel like I’m running a marathon in one position, I guess then I’ll think about quitting." He said and closed his eyes.

Seojin shook his head.

But then, noticed his phone was ringing. He picked it up from the table, only to find an unknown caller.

Who could it be? Spam? Or stalking fans?

He didn’t want to answer but the fact that the caller, the phone number, to be exact, was an Italian number.

Who could it be?

Maybe it was one of his guys. He thought and answered, only to hear a female voice. His mother’s voice, to be exact.

"Lorento," she called softly.

Seojin immediately started regretting his actions to answer the call. He should’ve just left it to ring.

"How did you get my number?" He asked, sounding quite pissed and attracting Seojun’s attention.

"That’s not important." She said.

"Ah, of course. Of course. And I see no importance in listening to you, so I’m going to hang up." He said.

"Wait," he ended up cutting the call and blocking the number.

Why would she call him? Had she no shame?

"Was it her?" Seojun asked, and Seojin nodded.

He bowed his head, thinking. The most problematic issue they had to solve was because of her.

If she hadn’t been so dumb and been a puppet to her own father, their uncle, her brother, wouldn’t have come all the way here to threaten their happiness.

So why was she calling now? Was she going to convince them to come back to Italy? Did their grandfather give her orders that she just can’t decline, as always?

Seriously, it was such a headache to think about it.

"Just like him, she wants to ruin our happiness." Seojin muttered and Seojun stared at him for a while before turning his gaze away.

He was skeptical. Of course, he knew his mother was a puppet to their grandfather, but he wondered, why would he ask her to bring them back when he knew they weren’t on good terms?

And he already sent out their uncle, so this might’ve been... Something she was doing of her own free will.

He frowned.

"Lorento," Seojun called and Seojin nodded, already figuring out that he had the same thoughts as his brother.

"I know. It’s strange." He picked up the phone and stared at the blocked number. "Just what is she planning?"

"Just call and ask. And if she starts spewing bullshit, just cut the call and block her again. It’s not that hard." He folded his arms.

Seojin did just that. He unblocked the number and just as he attempted to call, the phone rang.

"Ah, she’s so annoyingly relentless." He exclaimed.

(Jeez, now we know where your relentless attitude comes from)

He answered the call, put it on loudspeaker, and said,

"Just answer the question with a yes or no, and answer wisely; if not, I’m blocking your number, regardless of your motives."

"I understand." She said and waited for him to ask his question.

She probably already knew he blocked her but she still kept dialing till she finally got through to him.

"Are you here to ask us to go back?" Seojin asked.

"No!"

"Are you here because of Dongwoo Hyung?"

"No," she didn’t even know who that was.

"Then, are you here to drag your brother back with you?"

A moment of silence followed with Allegra shutting her eyes and cussing in her mind, feeling she had arrived a little too late.

To think Alejandro was already here. She hoped they were okay.

"Yes," she answered. "The main reason why I am here is to stop my father from ruining your lives. Don’t worry, this time, I won’t do anything unnecessary."

They both went silent. It was hard to believe that she suddenly wanted to break loose from her father.

"Can we meet up?" She asked. "I’d like to discuss things with you."

Still, they remained silent. There was no way to tell if this was a plot to kidnap them back to the country or if she was genuine. So, they were weary.

"Where are you?" Seojun asked, which suddenly brought delight to her heart.

She never called Seojun because among them, he was the most violent with words and actions, and they tended to hurt her. So, she always went ahead to call Seojin, who, though may be harsh with his words, did not use the same heart-aching words Seojun used.

So, hearing him speak calmly, made her happy.

"I’m in Korea." She answered. "And I know you’re working at Wailers so, I’m very close. Let’s talk over dinner."

"Alright." He said and cut the call.

Seojun looked at Seojin, his eyes asking, ’Are we really going to go down to her? We have to be cautious. She can’t be trusted.’

But Seojin lowered his head and sighed. He recalled Dongwoo’s words a while back when they were speaking about their mother.

’No matter what, she’s still your mother. And just as much as she was your mother, she was also a daughter who wanted to be recognized by her father. So, it was hard for her. The decisions she made might’ve been tough and you would never understand since you never spoke to her. I believe... When the time comes, she’ll make the right choice.’

He placed his hand on his forehead, thinking.

Was this the right time Dongwoo was talking about back then?

"We’ll just go and meet her. Let’s see what she has to say and then what bright idea she has in mind." He said as he got up. "Let’s go. Let’s get this over with and get back home before Hyung gets back."

Seojun nodded.

Allegra was resting her back on her car, with big shades on and a sun hat.

It had been years since she walked the grounds of Korea, and her face had been put down a long time ago, but she felt she couldn’t walk around barefaced.

One annoying thing would be to suddenly get approached by a manager and get a scouting offer.

She got a lot of those back in the day and all she did was raise her hands to stop them from coming closer before walking away. She was old now, so getting those would be annoying, especially when she was on a mission.

"Matt!" She called the man who was behind the wheel of her car. "Drive me to the nearest restaurant around Wailers. And... It should have good food." She softly smiled, thinking of her sons. "I’m going to be eating with my boys."

It was a first.
