Chapter 318: I’m glad you got to know more about my past
"Hyung?" Minwoo called and Dongwoo looked towards him. "Can we talk about this?"
Dongwoo stared at Minwoo, not responding to his question.
He probably wanted to talk about what he said to Mrs Hwang. But he didn’t wish to speak about it.
He reached his hand out to him, tapped his head, and said,
"It’s all in the past." But Minwoo bit his lip, unable to simply accept it.
Was it because he was hearing it for the first time? He felt so awful knowing Dongwoo had passed through something like that.
Ah, was that why he didn’t have sex up until recently? He had boyfriends in the past, and then there was Shinwoo who was persistent with him.
He just thought he didn’t have sex with them because he felt they weren’t worth it. Ah, now he saw the reason. To think this was it all along.
While one of them has sex so regularly that they became addicted to it, using it as a coping mechanism, the other stayed far away from it because he just couldn’t cope with it.
Just who was it that wanted to take advantage of his poor Hyung? Ah, thank goodness he was dead. If not...
Wait. His eyes shot out in sudden realization. This ’friend’s father’ he was referring to... it couldn’t have been related to the twins, right? In the first place, did they know of his condition? Was that how they were able to get him head over heels for them?
They were the first ones to have sex with him... So they definitely knew something, right?
"Hyung-"
"Minwoo," Dongwoo called interrupting him. "Please, let it go. Please." He pleaded.
He would only disturb his thinking if he tried to put two and two together in this case. It wasn’t worth it.
"It’s all in the past, so please... Let it go. I’m no longer hurting from that incident so don’t do it. Don’t dig it up in your heart." He said and hugged Minwoo, pressing his head on his shoulder and tapping his head. "I’m serious, Minwoo. It’ll do you no good. I’ve talked it over before and I got better. If you want to know who it was, they’re already dead and I know you’re wondering if the twins are involved..."
Minwoo blinked, his mind screaming, ’Were they?’
"Let me just tell you this..." He whispered in Minwoo’s ear. "They killed him. Because of me... They killed their father."
Minwoo’s heart tugged. It was like a trigger. What did he say?
"Now, do you want to know how I lived with that in mind? Two innocent boys killing their father because he was trying to rape their friend. It was hard, Minwoo. So hard that the guilt kept eating at me, but I did not stop caring for them. I wished for nothing but the best for them and hoped they never saw a person like me again. Yet, here we are." He broke the hug, looked at the expression on Minwoo’s face, and said, "We’re past that guilt, forgiven, and love each other more than anything. Do you seriously want to dig up the past?"
Minwoo blinked, looked away, and then glanced back at the pained expression on Dongwoo’s face. Ah, there was just so much underneath the water. He had no idea.
He hugged Dongwoo and said,
"I’m sorry. I was thinking about something unnecessary again."
"It’s okay. I just don’t want you to trouble your heart." Dongwoo said and let out a sigh. "I think my heart feels so much lighter now."
"How so?" Minwoo asked as they broke the hug.
"Because you finally know something I’ve been keeping in my heart." He smiled, "I didn’t want you to find out and wished to keep it away from you, but somehow, it ended up like this, and I actually feel relieved about it."
"Well, me too." They rested their foreheads together. "I’m glad you got to know more about my past."
"You’ve worked hard, Lee Dongwoo." Dongwoo said with a warm smile and a warm look in his eyes, and Minwoo closed his eyes, smiling softly.
"Yea, you too, Hyung. You’ve worked so hard."
They took the elevator down and found Seojun waiting with his car in the parking lot. Dongwoo looked at him, surprised. How was he here?
He turned to Minwoo who answered the question that was plastered on his face,
"I have to be somewhere now, so I can’t drive you back." He said.
"So you called him?" Dongwoo asked and Minwoo nodded. "Ah, I almost thought he followed us because he was worried. That’s a relief."
"Hyung," Seojun called and Minwoo stared at him as he smiled at Dongwoo.
’So, that was their past.’ he thought. He found it quite odd that those two suddenly fell head over heels for Dongwoo but if they had known each other for that long and even went that far for him, then he could understand their deeply attached feelings for him.
In any case, this just proved that their feelings were genuine. So genuine that distance and time did not break it.
"I’ll be heading out now." Minwoo said but then Seojun asked,
"Where are you going?" It was off and out of the blue.
Since when was he concerned about his movement?
But as he looked at Seojun, he felt Seojun knew something. Did he know the deal he made with his uncle? Or was it just a hunch that they were involved? Was that why he was looking so fiercely at him?
"I have an appointment." Minwoo simply answered and Dongwoo waved at him.
"Don’t stay out too late. You know there’s a danger lurking around." He said and Minwoo nodded.
"I won’t."
Instead of the danger lurking around, in reality, he was going towards the danger.
Dongwoo watched him leave and then turned to Seojun,
"Shall we leave?"
"Yeah,"
As they walked towards their car, Seojun asked,
"How did it go? Did you get scared?"
"Hm, not really." Dongwoo answered. "It was actually quite fun and I think I learned a lot too. I’ve become so much more confident." He raised his hands, showing his non-existent muscles and Seojun laughed, brushing his hair back.
"That’s good to hear." He said and Dongwoo smiled widely.
They got in the car and then Dongwoo realized something, so he asked,
"By the way, where did Seojin go? I don’t think I’ve seen him that much today."
"He’s been under the weather." Seojun answered. "So he went to a bar to grab a few drinks."
"Is he okay?" Dongwoo asked but Seojun turned his head to him, moved closer, and said,
"If he isn’t, he will be." Then, he planted a soft kiss on Dongwoo’s lips before moving back to turn on the engine. "We’ll head home first and then call. He shouldn’t be getting himself in trouble."
"Alright."
It was already getting late, so dinner together seemed to be out of the question. Dongwoo just wished Seojin wouldn’t get himself in trouble. Well, he wasn’t like Seojun, who used his fists instead of his brain, so he would be all right.
And he was also good at holding his liquor so he should be fine.
In a bar, far from their apartment street, Minwoo sat by the counter, staring at the glass in his hand.
He had over three shots of whiskey but they were all flushing down like water in his system. He could have something stronger but he didn’t want to... At least, not yet, till he had completed his mission.
He was setting a trap.
"Hey, handsome," a lady called, shamelessly dropping her hand on his shoulder. "Are you alone?" She asked.
Seojin glanced at her and looked at what she was wearing: the bright red lipstick on her lips that spread so wide with confidence and that unbearably harsh perfume she had on. He closed his eyes.
Not the best, but she would do for now.
"Yes," he answered and gave a polite smile. "Though I’m waiting for someone, you could keep me company if you’d like."
This lit the lady’s interest and she saw on the stool next to him. Her eyes fell on his Rolex wristwatch, and the excitement in her grew.
"So, where are you from? I don’t think I’ve seen you around here." She asked, signaling the bartender to bring Fort a shot.
"And I assume you know everyone who comes in here?" Seojin asked and she chuckled.
"Don’t flatter me. I’m not that good." She said but he suddenly drew closer to her, as if flirting, and said,
"Then, what exactly are you good at?" The wide grin on his lips made this lady misunderstand his question and she bit her lip seductively.
"Why don’t we go around back and I’ll show you." She said, her eyes breeding her ’pure’ intention to claim him for the night. "I’ve got really great hands."
She leaned in, probably planning to kiss him, but then he leaned back and looked up at the lady who just walked in and said,
"That’s too bad. We could’ve talked more but I’ve gotta run." He got up, dropped a few notes on the counter, and then walked away.
The lady bit her lip in frustration, wondering how he could just stand and leave. No, she didn’t want to let this big fish leave like that.
"Hold on a minute," she got down and went after him but he ignored her. "You can’t just walk away." She said and caught his arm but he flung her hand off and wrapped his arm around the lady who just walked in.
"Sorry, my company has already arrived." He said with a proud grin and the lady whom he had wrapped his arm around was none other than Song Haijin.
She looked at him stunned and called,
"Seojin?"
