Chapter 316: Yeah, I miss you

Chapter 316: Yeah, I miss you

They watched Mrs Hwang pen down a long piece of information before raising her head, adjusting the bottom of her spectacles, and slightly pushing it up.

"Lee Dongwoo," she called. "It takes great courage to take the step that you took. And the fact that you’re having thoughts of staying with your current partner is also another improvement. Your sex addiction seems to have weaned but just in case, I will recommend you do some exercises and try to maneuver them as your coping mechanism. Also, you will need to visit a health specialist who will put you through this specific case. You might’ve been safe when doing it with numerous people but it doesn’t mean you’re entirely safe. So, on the safer side..."

"Yes, please." Minwoo said and she nodded.

"As for your coping mechanism, because I know these things tend to reoccur when you’re stressed mentally and emotionally, so you can find something else to help you cope with the feelings." She added and Minwoo nodded once more.

She wrote a few things down and then added,

"Your partner... Do you believe being with them makes you a whole different person?" She asked but Minwoo could not understand properly and asked,

"Could you be clear on that?"

"What I mean to say is... Before you met this partner of yours, your habits, did they change? Just as you stopped meeting other people just to do it with your partner alone, did anything else change?" She asked and Minwoo went into deep thoughts.

"I don’t know if it’s because of them." He said.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I met him around the same time I met my brother. We got into our relationship at the same time I patched up things with my brother. So, I don’t know if things have changed because of him or my partner." He answered and Mrs Hwang gave it a little thought before saying,

"Then can you confirm that a lot of things changed after meeting your partner and your brother?" She asked. "Because that is the essence of this. Your healing, and your peace of mind. If just being with them, makes things better, then I can say that you’re on the right track."

Minwoo looked towards Dongwoo who was still expressing his pride in him. He just needed to keep going.

"You should try to spend more time with them. Maybe go on a vacation to beaches and mountainsides and bond more. It will certainly give you peace of mind." She advised and Minwoo nodded.

"I will... Try that."

"Okay, we will follow up on your problems in your next session. We’re halfway through our appointment, so let’s move on to your brother’s problems now."

"Yes, of course. Thank you." Minwoo said and suddenly remembered something. "Excuse me, I’ll go out to make a call really quick."

He got up, walked out the door, and outside, he took out his phone and stared at Sungho’s number.

He suddenly had the urge to hear his voice.

He dialed the number and in no time, Sungho picked up.

He was driving into the garage of his apartment building.

"Hey," Minwoo began, letting out a small smile. "Whatcha doing?"

"Parking my car," Sungho answered. "What’s wrong? Do you miss me?" He teased, smiling sheepishly but to his surprise, Minwoo answered,

"Yeah, I miss you." Sungho was stunned and he bit his bottom lip. "Anyway, I wanted to hear your voice, and I wish I could come to you right away, but I can’t tonight. I’ll see you tomorrow."

As soon as he said that, Sungho tightened his grip around the steering wheel.

He recalled what Minwoo said about having no choice but to go and have sex with another guy besides him. Was that what he was going to do tonight?

Though he said he would forgive him, since he was in no place to get mad, he couldn’t stop himself from feeling mad about it.

"Alright," he managed to say, forcing a smile. "Get home safely, okay?"

"Yeah," he cut the call and stared at his reflection on the dark screen. He sighed, resting his head on the wall.

He opened the door and walked in to hear their conversation,

"So, you said you have a trauma that you feel is already healed?" Mrs Hwang asked and Dongwoo nodded. "And it occurred when you were 16 to 17?" Once again, Dongwoo nodded. "If you don’t mind, may I ask what occurred? What caused this said trauma?"

"I was almost raped." He answered straightforwardly and Minwoo’s eyes widened. What did he just hear? "It was a grown man, the father of my friends, and... Well, things happened, and he died." He clenched his fists. He was speaking like he was all right, but it was a bit difficult.

Recounting what had happened that day was slightly easier now. Maybe it was because he was over it. Over that guilt and fear.

But it was still difficult, recounting that fear he experienced, knowing they had killed their father on his behalf and forcing them to go live with the mother they hated.

Ah, he didn’t know which was the worst, but it was a crazy and difficult time for all of them.

He looked at Mrs Hwang’s expression. She looked like she had seen a ghost and even forgot to write down anything.

Maybe she hadn’t heard such a tale before. Or maybe she was just shocked knowing he was almost raped by a man old enough to be his father, Dongwoo couldn’t tell.

He just knew that her gaze was making it a whole lot more difficult.

Then, he heard Minwoo’s voice,

"Hyung?"

Dongwoo looked back to find Minwoo at the door. He also looked like he was staring at a ghost.

’Ah, did he hear? I didn’t want him to hear about my trauma.’ he pursed his lips and then sighed. ’It had already happened. He turned to Mrs Hwang, hoping to throw this matter with him a bit further till they were done there. "So, Mrs Hwang, I believe I no longer shake when someone makes sexual advances at me but I still have some issues."
