Chapter 307: He’s such a fool sometimes
Dongwoo was worried and decided to go check on Minwoo before leaving. Since they weren’t getting any work done, they might as well leave for the day, right?
He reached out to open the door but found Seojun behind him.
"Why are you following me?" He asked.
"Because that woman could do anything." Was Seojun’s strategic response. Dongwoo sighed and shook his head. Worrywarts, all of em. (Says the guy who’s deeply worried about Minwoo)
He opened the door, only to find a body falling on him.
"The hell!" Seojun, who saw this, yelled and pulled Dongwoo back before pushing the body forward.
This enabled Sungho to get back on his feet without falling and he looked back to Dongwoo in a panic.
"Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Did I hurt you?" He asked, getting closer but Seojun did not let him get closer, protecting Dongwoo like Sungho was a lethal weapon.
(You know what else is a lethal weapon?)

Minwoo, who had gotten up from the sudden incident, approached and said,
"See, I should’ve just thrown you out instead." Causing Sungho to smile awkwardly.
"Sorry, Dongwoo. I wasn’t paying attention." He said.
"Well, it’s okay. I understand you were not paying attention especially when there was a certain someone in front of you." He cleared his throat and bobbed his head towards Minwoo, who dropped his hand and asked,
"Wait, what does that mean?"
But Dongwoo did not explain anything and went ahead to say,
"So, can you two leave us for a moment, I need to talk with my brother?" Hearing that, Minwoo felt it was finally time for Dongwoo to fire his questions.
"Alright, I understand." Sungho said, sliding away. "I’ll get going now."
Dongwoo looked at Seojun who was silently standing guard next to him.
"What?" He asked.
"I believe this is the part where you give us a moment." Minwoo said, "Alone."
Sungho narrowed his eyes. There was no way he was going to leave, not after what had happened. He stood his ground.
"So, are you saying I could hurt my own Hyung? Is that what this is about?" Minwoo asked, folding his arms.
"As if you could ever." Seojun said, belittling him. "I’m just worried that someone could get in through the window and harm Hyung, and of course, you wouldn’t be able to help him."
"Hello, this is the 14th floor." Minwoo said, in utter disbelief. But then, he shut his eyes and just gave up. "Do whatever you like. I don’t care. Hyung, why don’t we talk some other time when there’s no inconvenience like this?"
Dongwoo shook his head and turned to Seojun.
"When did you take the job of a bodyguard?" He asked.
"Since the moment it was revealed that you could be threatened by your own mother and the likes of my uncle." He said, which were quite reasonable claims but that wasn’t an excuse to be overprotective.
"Well, since I can’t talk you out of it, you’ll just have to wait outside. No one can come in through the window of the 14th floor all willy-nilly, and if you’re outside the door, you can stop anyone suspicious from coming close. Isn’t that the same thing?"
Seojun gave it a thought. It was a pretty decent idea.
’Hah, he’s such a fool sometimes.’ Minwoo thought. ’I guess his love for Hyung makes him unable to think properly.’
"Alright. I’ll wait outside." He said. "But if someone truly comes in through the window then don’t hesitate to scream."
"Yes, yes. I got it." Dongwoo gave him a thumbs up and he finally left.
After they left, they both sat down and got into an awkward silence. Who would say the first word?
"So, I-"
"Will you-"
They both finally spoke but at the same time and mixed their words together.
" "You go first!!" " Once again, they spoke at this time but said the same thing.
So, instead of speaking, Minwoo decided on a gesture, giving Dongwoo the go-ahead to speak.
"So, I was wondering," he pursed his lips. "...how long have you been hiding it?"
"Hiding what?"
"The fact that they wanted to see me." Dongwoo asked and Minwoo pursed his lips. How to answer that?
"They called me a while back." He lowered his head. "They wanted me to come home for dinner. I knew they were always trying to get me to come home and do their bid, but it was always mother calling. Yet this time, it was father that called."
"Oh, at the bar that time." Dongwoo quickly remembered. "Was that it?"
Minwoo nodded and then started twiddling his fingers.
"He said to come home for dinner Friday night and bring my brother with me. That was when I knew that had found out about you. I kept it to myself because I knew they were up to no good and definitely didn’t have your best interest at heart. I felt this way, you would be safe from them. And wouldn’t have to be a... a trophy piece.
But I didn’t do anything that was of any actual help. I couldn’t even keep mother away from you."
"It’s not your fault." Dongwoo said, taking his hand.
"No, it’s mine. If I hadn’t acted so rashly then, we wouldn’t have been caught up in that Song Haijin fiasco and we wouldn’t have had our faces all over the internet. That was how they found out you were alive. I..." He clenched his fists and bit his lower lip. "I led those monsters back to you."
"Hey!" Dongwoo scolded him with a frown. "Stop that."
Minwoo looked up and stopped biting his already torn lip.
"You did what you did to protect me. There was no way we would’ve known Song Haijin’s plot, or that we would lead them to us. You just... Had my best interest at heart." He squeezed his hand. "And you also had my best interest when you did not tell me about their calls. Thank you, Minwoo. You’re such a great brother."
As if that was what Minwoo wanted to hear, longed to hear even, his heart burst as he felt lifted and light. He nodded, and said,
"Thank you for acknowledging me, Hyung."
"Hey, now, don’t think of crying. There’s nothing to cry about." Dongwoo said, seeing the tears in his eyes. "Anyway, that’s my side. What did you want to talk to me about?"
"I wanted to apologize." Minwoo said and let out a laugh. "But it seems there’s no need for that now."
"Yeah, no need for apologies."
"And..." Minwoo added, his smile slowly falling. "... I wanted to talk about this seriously. Please, don’t take this the wrong way but I feel..." He managed to raise his gaze and met Dongwoo’s eyes. "We both need therapy."
