Chapter 306: I’m the one who’s supposed to be doing the protecting, not you

Chapter 306: I’m the one who’s supposed to be doing the protecting, not you

Things just got even more interesting but unfortunately, the crew would never get to see the official end of the live-action drama.

"Ahem!" Haejoo cleared his throat, breaking the tension.

He eyed the Kim twins, who weren’t giving him a face at all, Dongwoo, who was watching as his brother battled his mother, and Mrs Lee, who didn’t want to back down but was contemplating.

"I don’t appreciate that you would disrupt my company’s workflow. So, if I may, I would like to ask you to leave, Mrs Lee. Or I might just have to take legal action. What do you think?"

Mrs Lee decided to back down. She didn’t want to risk getting any information of ’that’ leaked in a public place, and the entertainment industry at that. Who knows if someone is recording the event and using it to threaten her later?

No, she must not let that info out at any cost. It would ruin her reputation as well as her husband’s.

So, whether Minwoo was bluffing or not, she decided to take it seriously and left.

As soon as she walked out the door, Minwoo’s legs gave in, and he staggered back, but luckily, Sungho caught him.

He walked in after Minwoo had been slapped but he did not know what was going on.

The crew was silently watching and the confrontation was hot. So, he decided to watch it as well.

But, he had no idea Minwoo had been slapped.

After catching him, he saw the bruise on his cheek and frowned.

"What’s this?" He asked but Minwoo shook his head, standing to his feet, and said,

"It’s just a scratch. Don’t mind it." He said and touched his face, but it stung, and he hissed.

It wasn’t just a scratch. This made Sungho feel bad.

"Come, I’ll get you an ice pack." He said and almost held Minwoo’s hand, forgetting where they were. But luckily, before he could, Dongwoo grabbed Minwoo’s hand and asked,

"Are you okay?" He looked into Minwoo’s eyes, concerned.

"Yes, yes. This younger brother of yours will always protect you." He proudly said, lifting his head in pride.

"Dummy." Dongwoo flicked his forehead. "I’m the one who’s supposed to be doing the protecting, not you."

Minwoo simply tittered. How could he let Dongwoo do the protecting when he had no idea what their mother was capable of doing?

She was a vile woman who would go to any length to get what she wanted. He grew up with her, so he knew her well.

"Okay, okay. Let’s wrap this up." Taiha spoke up and they both turned to him. "Minwoo, Kiddo, you two go get some rest. That drama must’ve taken a lot out of you."

"Drama?" They both exclaimed, confused.

Wait... They looked around... Everyone took this situation like it was an actual drama? This crew... They were unbelievable.

"Ahem!" Haejoo, who was still at the premises cleared his throat, just to make sure he wasn’t being forgotten.

"Why did you come here anyway?" Seojun asked.

"Oh, I’m sorry. I happened to hear a mule of guards marching towards the studio where our famous stars worked. Did you expect me to sit down and wait until things were settled?"

"But you weren’t that much of a help either." Seojin said with a smile. A mocking one, secretly telling him, ’You’re useless, so get the fuck off already.’

Haejoo got the message loud and clear and this irked him. Just when he wanted to do something good, this happens.

He sighed.

Anyway, he wasn’t just here for the drama that they were acting, he heard from his assistant that he had spotted his brother around the premises, so he was looking around and they were how he followed the guards here.

’Hm, I wonder what that kid is planning this time around.’ he thought. ’I better not catch him; if not, he’s dead.’

Meanwhile, Jaeho had stepped away when he saw that things were getting messy. He wasn’t trying to be a coward, but he just couldn’t afford to get his face on camera in case anyone was filming this action. It would immediately get him in trouble.

He just stood at the side, away from the scene but as soon as he spotted his brother walking in, he immediately turned and hid behind the green screen, watching from there.

Backing the scene would only make him look suspicious so he decided hiding was the best.

Once Haejoo and his assistant were gone, he walked out and let out a sigh of relief.

He has to be very careful.

The entire crew just couldn’t get back to work after what had happened. Another day went by without any work done.

The drama was getting constant in that studio. They would very much get their own nickname in the company really soon.

Minwoo was getting ice applied to his bruised face by Sungho in his office and though he said it wasn’t a big deal. It stung.

"Was that your mother?" Sungho asked, gently applying the ice pack to his face.

"Why?" His eyes narrowed down sadly. "Is it disappointing?"

"It’s ridiculous, actually." Sungho said, confusing him as he looked up at Sungho, surprised. "Who would do something like this to their own child? I didn’t arrive early but I heard she called you names. How... How did you live with that woman?"

Minwoo slowly lowered his gaze and said in a sad tone.

"I got used to it."

Getting used to it didn’t mean he was alright with it. He passed through a lot but this was the very first time she was laying her hand on him. Yet, getting beaten felt so much better than when she stabbed his heart with her words.

Maybe a few hits were what he needed all along to feel better.

Yes, maybe if he had been beaten for causing his brother to fall off the cliff, then maybe his heart would’ve been a little bit at ease, and the burden would’ve been lighter.

But they did not touch him and only stabbed him with words.

He sighed, pushing Sungho’s hand down.

"You should go." He said and rolled his eyes towards him for a second before looking down. "I don’t want others to start getting suspicious. You have an image that can’t be tainted."

His words jabbed Sungho’s heart, but he understood it clearly.

In this ’relationship’ they had, the only thing they would stand to gain was pleasure from each other’s bodies, and they couldn’t risk ruining Sungho, who was an international model, because of their godforsaken thrill.

He nodded and said,

"I’ll get going now. But call." He said, getting up and taking steps backward and towards the door. "Yeah, call. Call me if you need anything and I’ll..." His leg hit the door and he rested his back on the door.

He didn’t want to leave. Not yet. He wanted to stay with him a little longer but... He shook his head.

What was he even thinking?

’Don’t forget that your relationship is nothing without our bodies. We have no other commitments.’ he reminded himself, licking his lips as they felt dry, even though there was gloss that his stylist had applied.

Minwoo watched him hesitant and smiled.

"You want me to push you out the door?" He asked but Sungho scratched the back of his head, nervously and said,

"No, no need. I’m already-"

The door opened while he was still leaning on it, causing him to fall back and he was on his way to crash into the person who had opened the door from outside.

"Hey!" Seojun’s voice thundered and he pulled Dongwoo, who was the opener of the door, and pushed Sungho forward. "The hell! You could’ve hurt Hyung."
