Chapter 286: More speculation rose

’Let me tell you a story...’ That was how Dongwoo began his post. ’It’s gonna be long, but I hope you stay till the end so you understand what’s going on completely.’

’So, a long time ago, I was separated from my brother. I fell off a cliff, you see, and hit my head. When I was saved, I couldn’t remember anything but I did remember my name. I said, My name is Lee Dongwoo, and to this day, I’ve been called Lee Dongwoo. But just a few months ago, I met my brother. My twin brother. Same face and, oddly, the same name. Funny how I remembered my brother’s name, thinking it was mine. So, all my documents I have, including my international, passport, all have this name, haha. Anyway, we had our reunion and were working in the same place. Wailers. While I worked as a photographer, he worked as a manager. Just below, you’ll see a picture of us. We look so alike, I tell you.’

Below is a picture. The same picture Dongwoo had taken of them just a few hours ago.

’There’s my twin with the glasses and there’s me. And behind us, well, I’m sure you can recognize them. Kim Seojun and Kim Seojin, wearing their usual home clothes. They look good in everything, I know. And besides them, that hot handsome guy over there is a friend of mine. He’s a vet, haha. And he’s holding my cat. We have a good relationship and are close. Like, very close.’

There were a lot of reactions, as people didn’t know where Dongwoo was going with his long story. But they wanted to know, so they kept reading.

’When I say we’re very close, I’m actually referring to the Kim twins and me. We go way back. After I lost my memory and started living with the old lady who took me in, I met them. They were these sets of gloomy kids but they were so adorable, haha. Let me show you a quick pic of when they were way younger than this.’

Below that text was a picture of the twins, back in their younger days. It was the picture Dongwoo always carried in his wallet.

He sent out a smiling emoji and added,

’Even if they weren’t smiling, they looked so adorable back then and they still do till now. Anyway, where was I? Ah, yes. Anyway, we go way back and that’s how I was given permission to use their picture for the competition Wailers hosted a few months back. I got it. I won the competition and it was thanks to them. I invited them to be models, to which they accepted. And do you know what, they weren’t simple people. Wanna know why I said that? Their mother happened to be a big-time model back in the day. I won’t call her name but know that that’s why so many big shots decided to sponsor them on their debut. Not only do they have the same stunning face as their model, but they also have the talent, and I... I was swept into it. That’s why I say, they’re my lucky stars. (⁠◔⁠‿⁠◔⁠)’

’So, all the talk of me getting sponsors by using my body, that’s all slander and I sure as hell know who is responsible for it. But before I get there I just want to let you know that I do my best as a photographer and try to bring out the best out of a simple picture, hoping to reflect the same brilliance they possess in real life. I do this with pride and I’m more than overjoyed that I have models who shine and allow me to show my talent. Getting told that I use my body to get favors when I work so hard hurts me, honestly. But no one will know why that came about until the end.’

More speculations rose. Some were angst, waiting for Dongwoo to finally clarify the video that had been circulating, while others wanted to know the name of the Kim twin’s mother, putting their full interest in them and pointing out how good they looked even when taking casual pictures.

The post was longer than any paragraph guy’s explanation out there, and people were eager to see the end of it.

Dongwoo posted them in bits.

He read through the comments, and one caught his eye. It said,

Cheer.for.me- "A great photographer would not bully a model. You have to explain that to us for us to know whose side to take."

The people who commented on that one comment were livid.

Bug.a.boo- "What do you mean whose side to take? It’s clearly Song Haijin’s side,"

Blind.useer- "Don’t be fooled by his sob story. He’s definitely faking it."

Unstoppable.S- "The fact that he or his twin, whatever, hit Song Haijin was clear. There’s no way he can lie his way out of that."

Dongwoo read the comments and smiled.

"They’re rather active." He thought out loud. Just the kind of reaction he was expecting from the stubborn netizens.

And then, finally, after reading the comments and knowing that the public was anticipating the rest of his story, he decided to post the last part.

’And I’m back...’ he began the last section.

’Where was I? That’s right, I was talking about my twin brother, who bears an exact name to mine, Lee Dongwoo. As stated in the video, it looked like he was bullying the rose of the industry but I assure you, he was just trying to protect me, his brother. But yes, yes, violence is never the answer but when faced with violence, peace isn’t exactly the way to react, especially when it has to do with the one you love. Eh? My brother loves me so much that he couldn’t bear to see me get hit. Yes, that’s right. I got hit first and he... Decided to return the favor. There’s no trace of me getting hit in the video but that’s because it was an edited video. Right now, I’m going to send out a video of what really happened that day. And I hope after this... You finally understand why my brother had to go that far. I hope you take back your nasty words. I hope you face the real culprit and swallow your insults.’

And then he posted the video right below that text.

The video started with Dongwoo laughing with Eunwoo and Jaeho, but he made sure to blur his face, because he remembered Jaeho saying his brother, Haejoo, must never know that he was working there.

And so, the video played just as it happened that day. Song Haijin bumped into Dongwoo’s coffee hand and slapped him in rage, spewing cruel and harsh words at him while Dongwoo was still recovering from the shock.

It was clear enough to show the exact reaction Dongwoo had on his face. The shock he had.

And then came Minwoo, who came forward, hiding his brother behind his back, and paid Song Haijin with the same slap she sold to his brother.

The words came out clearly. The exact thing Dongwoo/Minwoo said to Song Haijin and how he expressed himself that he would protect his brother, no matter who he was up against.

The video also showed Song Haijin’s true nature and how she treated people. She wasn’t a rose. She was... A shrub of thorns.
