Chapter 285: It’s been three hours
Minwoo helped get the missing groceries for dinner with Seojun while Seojin prepared the side dishes with what they had in stock.
They had to share the labor because, in the end, if whatever Dongwoo was doing was successful, they would have a feast.
But while they were doing what they were doing, they were worried about Dongwoo and what he was doing.
He didn’t give them a clue as to what he was planning to do but just took a picture.
What exactly could a simple picture solve?
’I don’t get it.’ Seojin thought as he stored the stew. ’No matter how I look at it, It’s just a picture.’ he thought and stopped stirring.
He tried to think of what Dongwoo could possibly use that picture to do but no idea came to mind.
"Is it done?" Minwoo asked, watching Seojin turn off the gas.
Seojin nodded and asked,
"What do you think he’s thinking?"
"What?"
"You’re twins," Seojin said, "and twins tend to understand what each other thinks."
Minwoo folded his arms and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Yes, we are twins." He said, "But do I have to remind you that we both grew up separately and lived our lives as complete strangers? We passed through different things and both have completely different understandings of the world. There’s no way I would know what he’s thinking."
"Ah, so you’re useless then." Seojin said but Minwoo did not get offended and rather retorted like this,
"You seem to know him longer than I have. So, tell me, what could your passionate and sweet ’Hyung’," his forehead creased, "...be thinking at a time like this?" He asked. "You should know, right? After all, you claim to know him completely."
"Yes, I know him inside out." Seojin folded his arms. "And I know him well enough to know that he’s never done something like this before."
"Oh yeah? Then it’s the same here."
They both exchanged electrifying glares, battling with their eyes and making the tech guys uncomfortable.
Seojun watched them. He didn’t have the strength to engage in such an argument with them.
He was more worried about what Dongwoo was doing and why he chose Geumtae, of all people, to stay with him while he did what he did.
And that aside, what was with that smile?
He thought back to how natural and sunny Dongwoo’s smile was. He saw the comments; that was a fact, but why was he unaffected?
Given his character, they expected him to be hurt and his feelings crushed but none of that happened.
"Wait," he got up. ’Could it be that he wanted to cry while talking to someone that was why he took Geumtae with him?’
No, taking someone with him was Seojun’s idea, so he probably didn’t have that plan in mind.
"It’s been three hours," Minwoo suddenly said and Seojun turned his attention to him.
The time was 9 pm, way past dinner time, and so he sighed.
"Hyung hasn’t come out or asked for our help for three hours. Is he really okay with whatever he’s doing?" He asked out loud.
"I want to check too." Seojin said. "I’m worried."
A moment of silence followed and then one of the tech guys shouted out,
"He just posted an official announcement."
They turned to him.
"What’s that?" Minwoo asked. "Who posted an official announcement?"
"Lee Dongwoo,"
Their eyes widened and they hurried to see what it was about.
On Dongwoo’s official page, which should’ve been under HR’s management, had an official announcement written by Dongwoo himself.
"What the...? Isn’t this the picture he took of us just a while ago?"
Dongwoo, in his room, stretched his arms and took in a deep breath.
"And that’s done." He said, and Geumtae approached with a cup of sweetened coffee.
"Nice work," he said with a smile.
Dongwoo smiled back at him and took the coffee.
"Thank you." He said. "And thank you for your help."
"No problem. You know I’d do anything for you." Geumtae said and though Dongwoo appreciated it, he wasn’t comfortable with Geumtae saying things like that.
Geumtae called his older brother, Geum Haejoo and Dongwoo did the talking. He requested access to his official page.
Haejoo was, at first, surprised that Dongwoo knew his younger brother but he wasn’t going to let Dongwoo do whatever he wanted without knowing what he was going to do.
At that moment, Geumtae took the phone and spoke,
"Hyung," he called, "...just do what he wants or your baby pics are going to flood the Internet."
"Haha, are you trying to threaten me? My baby pics are cute." He said, and Geumtae grinned.
"Yes, yes, very cute. And so are the pics of your exposed baby penis. Those are especially cute." He said, and Haejoo’s eyes widened in utter disbelief. "Don’t test me and just do what Dongwoo wants."
Haejoo took a moment to understand his own situation, placed his hand on his head and said,
"Give the phone back to him."
Geumtae handed the phone back to Dongwoo.
"Very good, Dongwoo." He said. "So, you managed to not only trap those bratty twins but my brother as well. Well done. I still want to know what charms you have that they fawn over you so much. What’s the secret?" He asked, not knowing he was on loudspeaker.
"You’d have to be gay to understand his charms." Geumtae yelled in the phone and Haejoo felt irked.
"It’s on loudspeaker, isn’t it?" He asked.
"Yes," Dongwoo answered and Haejoo sighed.
"Fine. I’ll contact the HR right away. They’ll allow you to do what you want. Just don’t do anything that’ll defame my company." He said and cut the call.
"Thank you, Geumtae." Dongwoo said, feeling relieved. He didn’t know how he would’ve done it if not for Geumtae.
"Oh, don’t sweat it."
While they were waiting for HR’s contact, Dongwoo went ahead to call Dooshik.
"I expected your call." Dooshik said. "And I prepared what I feel you might need. But first, are you okay?"
"Never felt better."
The reason Dongwoo called Dooshik was because Dooshik always had a camera running while they were on set.
Well, he actually set it up when they discovered they would be working with Song Haijin, so he wanted to have evidence of Song Haijin being a heartless witch in case of another Yaeran incident.
The only people who knew of this camera were Dooshik, Eunwoo, Doha, and Dongwoo.
And with this, Dongwoo was ready to write his first countering text. This was going to be the first time he was defending himself, having been framed and publicly humiliated countless times.
And this time... He felt more confident than ever.
And he started his post with...
