Chapter 146: I’m sorry, it’s none of my business

HjDongwoo was back on the rooftop, where he saved Sungho from committing suicide.

The wind up there was rather harsh and freezing, so Dongwoo was going to make it fast and get down from there.

At least, they would be done before Seojun got back and Seojin was done with his drinking competition.

"I’ll make this quick." Dongwoo said and Minwoo wondered what he wanted to talk about.

He wondered if it had to do with what he said earlier about him being his twin and about their family.

’Did he rethink it already? That was rather faster than I expected.’ Minwoo thought but he couldn’t be so sure.

But he didn’t have to wonder for too long as Dongwoo got right to the point with his words.

"It’s about Sungho."

Minwoo paused. Ah, of course. It couldn’t have been about what he said. It was just one day that Dongwoo would not simply change his mind right away.

"What about him?" Minwoo asked.

"You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?" Dongwoo said but Minwoo did not say anything and kept quiet. ’Is he going to deny it? If he does, I don’t know how to get him to admit it. I told Sungho I’d handle it but I’m really nervous right now. Should I just give it up now and come up with a plan later? Minwoo doesn’t seem unreasonable so maybe I can talk him out of any plan he had.’

"What are you trying to say exactly?" Minwoo suddenly asked. "Did he... tell you everything?"

Dongwoo nodded and this made Minwoo feel conflicted, feeling Sungho might’ve explained to Dongwoo that he did such a dirty thing to him while using his guilt.

It was a really low thing to do, but he just wanted to have sex and relieve his pent-up stress. That was all.

But what if Dongwoo misunderstood his intentions?

"I... I didn’t approach him because I knew he was affiliated with you." He said. "That night, I just... I..." He grabbed his arm and bit his bottom lip. "I may be a whore, but please don’t say it to my face." He blurted out and Dongwoo’s eyes widened in shock.

"What? I didn’t say that." He defended himself. "And I would never say that to someone."

"Right, you’re a good person." Minwoo said, having a sad demeanor. "It’s just... That’s the way...they all think after getting to know my strange ’hobby’." He said and looked away. "But as much as I try, I can’t bury that part of me so, I’m sorry if it makes you disgusted. I... I didn’t want you to discover that side of me." He bit his lip deeper to the point it almost tore.

Dongwoo watched him in shock. Then, he blinked, finally understanding him by his awkward posture.

It was like that with him less than a week ago, when the talk of sex came up. He was so ashamed of his body that could not respond positively to sex that he had this look of fear in his eyes, creeping up from his heart.

’Why does this remind me of myself? Is it because I’m staring at my face?’ he thought and shook his head. "I’m not here to criticize the person you are or your hobby." He said and Minwoo raised his head to show the sad look in his eyes.

He knew what it felt like to be insecure but he had no idea what it felt like to get caught actively hunting for ways to satisfy his desires.

He lived with fear of that desire so he would never know.

"What you do is none of my business, honestly and I wouldn’t dare think of you as disgusting." He said. ’Especially when you and I share the same sexuality and sexual craving. You’re just more open about it and I’m not.’

They were opposites. Whereas Dongwoo hid away from sex because of his trauma, scared of his own body, Minwoo actively sought out sex through any means and even when criticized, did not turn away from it but craved it more.

At least, that was what he understood from their situation.

He hoped he was wrong though.

He hoped Minwoo did not have some sort of trauma that made him similar to him in more ways than one.

"Sungho said you seduced him." Dongwoo continued. "Is that how you normally are? Drunk on sex?"

He sounded like he was scolding Minwoo but he just wanted to know if it was really just the sex he was after. Or... If he wanted to blackmail him in any way.

But Minwoo did not think that far. He thought Dongwoo was disappointed and disgusted. But he failed to realize that Dongwoo never mentioned his sexuality.

He bowed his head in shame. He didn’t want his brother, of all people, to find out that side of him, but it was all out in the open.

Seeing Minwoo like that, Dongwoo realized he had been too direct and it looked like he was scolding him.

"I’m sorry, it’s none of my business." He said. "But I won’t judge you. Everyone is different, you know. Everyone has their own problems and their means of solving them, but when doing that, you should also think of how the other person feels."

"I know, but I..."

"Did you approach Sungho with any evil intentions in mind?" Dongwoo asked and Minwoo’s eyes glimmered.

The kind of ’evil’ intentions he had wasn’t exactly the kind Dongwoo was talking about.

"By evil intentions, are you talking besides the sex because the only intentions I had was striping him and using that fine body of his?" He accidentally let his thoughts slip and closed his mouth.

He looked at Dongwoo in shock and though Dongwoo did not expect to hear those words straight out of his mouth, he confirmed that Minwoo was indeed in it for the sex and sex alone.

He looked at Minwoo awkwardly.

"No other intentions besides that, I swear." Minwoo said, and Dongwoo nodded.

"Then, that’s okay." He said. "I promised Sungho I would help him out so could you do me a favor and not speak about what happened to anyone?"

"I don’t usually have the habit of blabbing about my sexual exploits." Minwoo said, and Dongwoo nodded once again.

"Then I guess we’re on the same page." He turned and looked out into the horizon where there was nothing but darkness.

Even the stars were in hiding.

"Lee Dongwoo." Minwoo suddenly called and Dongwoo turned his head to look at him. "I didn’t mean to cause you pain with my presence." He said and bowed his head, feeling awkward. "I just got so excited that I finally found you with my lead that I approached you like that. I wanted you to come home, and..."

"Minwoo..." Dongwoo called, interrupting him. His eyes unexpectedly darkened. Coupled with his darkened eyes, his expression was rather solemn as he stared at Minwoo with no vivid emotion displayed on his solemn face. "Why do you think you caused me pain?"

The question was short and simple but Minwoo could not find the words to answer.

The wind blew and froze the air around them.

"You don’t have an answer, do you?" Dongwoo asked. "Is it because you don’t know? You just imagined I was in pain, didn’t you? Well," he closed his eyes and started heading for the stairs. "You don’t have to worry about me, I’m not in pain. And that’s because your presence doesn’t mean anything to me. To me, you’re just a crew member." He forced a smile and walked away. "The rooftop is cold, so try not to stay out for too long."

Minwoo stood there and sighed. He rubbed his arms and muttered,

"If my presence doesn’t mean anything to you then why were you crying in your sleep?"
