Chapter 132: The twins’ mother was a very charming lady who used to rule the entertainment industry
Haejoo stared at his door for a while with bated breaths, and after confirming that the twins weren’t going to suddenly bounce back in and hit him, he gave out a sigh of relief.
He hated to admit it but they gave him the shivers sometimes. But he just couldn’t stop himself from messing with them.
He could’ve given them a heads-up of what was going on before making decisions, but he hated that he had to be scared of two little brats, so he always took risks like that.
"I was sure he would hit me but he didn’t." He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "I guess he’s practicing self-restraint. Is this also thanks to that Hyung of theirs?"
"Mr Haejoo." Min Hyuk called worriedly as he rushed in worriedly. "Are you okay?"
"Did something happen?" Haejoo asked and Min Hyuk glanced back at the door.
"It’s just... Those are the stars, right? Angels? I knew it right after seeing them." He said and turned back to Haejoo. "They looked like they would get violent and so I was worried."
"Haha, you don’t have to worry. It must’ve been your imagination. They wouldn’t do such a thing." He said. ’At least, not while there’s a witness.’
"Then, are you familiar with them? You look like you’ve known them for a long time."
"Ah, do I?" He turned his chair around and glanced outside. He crossed his legs and thought back to a distant memory.
The first time he met the twins, he thought to himself,
"They look angry. Are they going through puberty?"
And that was the case for every day he came to visit.
They looked like angry little jaguars. They were always so angry and always yelling, throwing loud and violent tantrums, cussing out in Korean, and asking to be sent back to their ’Hyung’.
It was a catastrophe but their mother couldn’t exactly listen to their words and send them back to Korea. To her, it was just a matter of time till they got tired and got used to the place.
"This... Is their home. They’ll come to learn that. For now, I’ll let them misbehave."
The twins’ mother was a very charming lady who used to rule the entertainment industry until she was forced into retirement by her family.
Allegra Barone. Known worldwide as the ’night that never sleeps’ and ’the star that never falls’. There were even names like ’Everlasting Sunset’. So many names to describe one woman. Just one.
She was a fair maiden with green emerald eyes that sparkled and blonde hair that sparkled under the sun and glowed under the moonlight. She was given many names and carried many awards but her family was opposed to this ’measly’ fame.
She was such a sensation that even after she was forced out of her industry, her name still found its way through people’s mouths.
They didn’t care if she was on top of it all; as long as it had to do with the entertainment industry, they would never let her stay, so she was asked to get married, and that was how she got into an arranged marriage with the deceased Mr. Kim.
He was the son of a long-time partner in Korea.
Love wasn’t present. It was all madness.
As it was, Mr Kim was a long-time fan of Allegra, so he idolized her so much that it drove her insane.
She couldn’t keep up with his madness and complained to her parents. They agreed for her to get a divorce only after she told them Mr. Kim was a fanatic who was trying to get her blood and other things just because he was a ’fan.’
It worked out well for her but her children couldn’t leave with her.
Mr Kim pressed charges of defamation and took their divorce to court.
Haejoo met Allegra through the entertainment industry. He adored her so much that he followed her everywhere.
He even became her assistant just so he could be close to her at all times and his adoration transformed into love.
His love for her blossomed into obsession, and that moved him to do crazy things. Things that he still didn’t regret. If anything, he was thankful for it.
He loved her then and still did. But unlike then, he couldn’t see her however he wanted anymore.
Maybe she would find her way to him after knowing her boys were under him. But... He didn’t want to risk it.
"Mr Haejoo, are... are you okay?" Min Hyuk asked and Haejoo snapped out of his thoughts.
"Ah, I was lost in thoughts for a moment." He said, smiling coldly.
"Um, Mr Haejoo?"
"What is it?"
"I wanted to ask you then but I kept quiet, knowing you had a reason for what you always do. But I’m still curious." Min Hyuk said, and Haejoo gave him the go-ahead to speak by being all ears. "So, um, how did you gather so many big names to invest in ’Angels’ so fast? It should’ve taken at least two months to gather half as much as the result. How did you...?"
"It’s easy." Haejoo said. "I simply told them their mother’s name."
"Their... Their mother’s name? Who’s that?"
Haejoo went silent from there and turned around.
Anyone who heard that Allegra Barone’s sons were entering the entertainment industry as models would immediately drop what they were doing to assist them.
Whether or not they would become the second coming of Allegra Barone, it was still not certain but just seeing their pictures already gave them some sort of affirmation. And thus, they would all make sure to contribute to it and reap the benefits later.
’Whether or not it was a good decision to invest, it would all depend on their little Hyung, I guess. Ah, to think that there would be someone who could control those beasts. I’m impressed.’ he closed his eyes for a while, thinking deeply. ’The cause of their tantrums, the cause of their anger, and the cause of their hatred... It was all Lee Dongwoo.’
Meanwhile, Dongwoo, after listening to his supposed twin explain to him that they were twins related by blood and that an accident separated them, closed his eyes for a while to think.
It was definitely confusing and bewildering. To think there was such a thing going on. But... He couldn’t accept it.
He opened his eyes and without even trying to consider the possibilities and give it a little more thought, he said,
"Thank you for taking the time to explain to me." He said, and his twin’s eyes lit up, seeing hope, only for Dongwoo to dash those hopes with his next words. "I’m sorry you had to lose your twin at a young age but you’ve got the wrong person. Please, check elsewhere. I am not your twin."
