Is It Wrong To Love My StepBrother Alpha Mate? -
Chapter 122: Chap 122
Chapter 122: Chap 122
When Helen climbed back into Victor’s car she expected questions or maybe anger from him.
She’d hidden half of her identity from her allies, deceived them into thinking there was no threat allying themselves with the Blackmoon and Stonehill packs, and yet she was greeted by nothing but silence.
Victor drove them back to the city in silence.
Helena tried to start a conversation several times, but he would only grunt in response.
Eventually, when they were at a stoplight, Helena decided that she didn’t want this between them before she got home.
"Victor, say it, just say it," she demanded. "I know you learned things about me today that were unexpected."
"Unexpected?" Victor asked. "Really that’s what you’re going with, Helena, unexpected? When I met you at Warrior Academy all I knew was that you were Alpha’s stepdaughter, the year after you were an Alpha Heir, now I come to learn that you’re not only mated to the the Blackmoon Alpha but also the Grand Warlock’s Heir. Really you call that unexpected?!"
Victor ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
Like Helena, Victor had chosen to strengthen his skills as a warrior rather than to train with other Alphas. That’s where Helena’s friendship with the Sunfire Alphas started, with her and Victor being classmates.
He was one of the few who didn’t treat her differently because she was female, and when news came out that she was an Alpha Heir he was there with her too.
Honestly, she didn’t know who was more jealous of her friendship with Alphonse, her mate, or Victor who felt like he’d been replaced as her best friend.
"What does that even make you now? I didn’t even know you were only part wolf. How did that even slip past us?" Victor questioned.
"According to Dora, we’re stepcousins, I guess," Helena said with a shrug. "And as for the scent, Dora doesn’t have one either."
"Cause she’s a witch?" Victor asked.
"No, because she’s the Grand Warlock’s sister," Helena said as a matter of factly, leaving Victor stunned and confused.
"What now?" Victor asked.
"That’s how we’re related, I guess," Helena said with a shrug. "She’s my Grandfather’s sister. Warlocks and Witches from the Grand Warlock’s line don’t have scents."
"What?" Victor asked. "I thought all witches didn’t have scents."
"How many witches have you been around?" Helena asked as she laughed at her friend.
"Well, I guess two, you and Grandmama," Victor said with a shrug. "There wasn’t much here before the Grand Warlock’s Heir died, I guess that was your relative?"
"My dad," Helena sighed.
"Shit, I’m sorry Helena," Victor said as he reached out and placed a hand on hers.
"Plus it’s three now," Helena said as she kept her eyes downcast. "There is a little baby Warlock that seems to have stolen all of your hearts."
"Right, Ronan," Victor said, nodding. "That kid’s gonna have a lot of weight to bear."
"Hopefully, it’ll be a long time before he does," Helena said, nodding. "You know there is a higher chance of him becoming Grand Warlock than I do of becoming Grand Witch."
"Because Witches and Warlocks are sexist?" Victor asked as the stoplight turned green.
Helena snorted at his comment.
"That’s rich when I’m the only female Alpha Heir," Helena chuckled.
"And there have been female Alphas," Victor pointed out.
Helena sighed and shook her head.
"He’s more likely to become Grand Warlock because my Grandpa will leave much longer than we will," Helena chuckled. "Have you not seen Grandmama Dora? She hasn’t aged since I first met her!"
"Does that mean you won’t either?" Victor asked.
"I don’t know," Helena admitted. "I remember my dad and mom both looking like they were in their twenties when Raul and Cynthia looked older. I guess mom aged after dad died."
Victor nodded as he left Helena to her thoughts.
They pulled up her building and Victor gave her a smile. "I guess we’re family now."
Helena laughed and nodded.
"Ronan can really call you Uncle," Helena pointed out.
"You know that means that you can always find sanctuary here, right?" Victor asked. "And I have the right to go to both Blackmoon and Stonehill without asking for permission."
Helena laughed at Victor’s declaration.
"You’re just going to do it to annoy my mate," she pointed out.
"And Rae’s, he’s gotta love all the rumors circulating about us," Victor teased.
"That’s my future Beta," Helena said, nudging him. "Let’s go, I miss my baby."
Victor smiled as he got out of the car and opened the door for Helena.
"Grand Witch," Victor said teasingly as he bowed.
Helena rolled her eyes as she got out of the car and they went up to her apartment.
She couldn’t help but bounce in excitement at the thought of seeing her son. She missed him, and now they were a few steps closer to going home.
When the elevator door opened, Helena quickly slipped out and opened the door to her place.
"Ronan, Mama is home!" she called out but froze in her tracks.
"What’s wrong, Helena? Your son not recognize you anymore?" Victor teased as he followed her into the apartment.
"Mom? Rebecca?" Helena gasped as she saw her mother standing in her apartment, holding her son.
Alyssa looked up and glared at her daughter.
"Rae, hold my grandson," she said as she passed Ronan over to Rae.
Rae on the other hand began laughing.
"How did I not know you were pregnant?" Alyssa demanded.
"Mom, I can explain," Helena said as he slowly backed up, only to bump into Victor.
"And you managed to drag your sister into a scandal? Do you have any idea how worried both of your mates are?" Alyssa asked, her voice raising a little. "They sent me here because I wouldn’t be turned away, but you should see Romeo."
"Mom!" Helena shouted. "I left to protect the pack! The witches and warlocks are part of the threat and I couldn’t just stand there. I just came from meeting Grandmama Dora, now if you could just back down a little."
The air sizzled with power, making everyone step down.
"Dora? You found Dora?" Alyssa asked as tears began to fall from her eyes.
Helena eventually managed to get her mother to calm down, and as hard as she tried, she couldn’t drive out the Sunfire City Alphas.
They’d declared themselves to be her family in Sunfire City and had decided that they were going to stay.
"Mom, have you been introduced?" Helena asked as she pointed at the five men who were surrounding Ronan as he slept in his crib.
"To my Grandson, not by his mom," Alyssa grumbled.
"He’s asleep," Helena sighed. "Later."
Alyssa glared at her daughter but still answered Helena’s question.
"No, I haven’t been formally introduced," Alyssa told Helena.
"Youngest to eldest, shall we," Helena grinned as she gestured for Jonathan to step forward.
"Mom, this is Jonathan Hellfire, Alpha of the Hellfire Pack and the last of the Hellfire Alphas," Helena said with her tone becoming grim at the mention of the fate of his family.
"I heard of what happened to your grandfather and father," Alyssa said as she pulled the young man into a hug. "My Vincent, Helena’s father, was friends with him, he used to visit Stonehill with your mother quite often."
Jonathan looked like he was about to tear up, but he held his tears back.
"Thank you, Luna," Jonathan said.
"Please, Luna is Helena now, just call me Alyssa," her mother said with a wink before letting Jonathan go.
"It’s is an honor to meet you, Alyssa," Jonathan said as he used her name.
"Oh, what a handsome young man," Alyssa said, grinning.
Helena shook her head as she waved over another Alpha.
"This is Aaron Suncrest," Helena said as she introduced one of the more quiet Sunfire Alphas.
"We’ve met, Alyssa," Aaron said as he offered his hand to shake, but Alyssa pulled him into a hug.
"Yes, you came to our pack and brought us news of our Helena," Alyssa said. "I thank you for that."
"She is family even before we learned of her relation to Grandmama Dora," Aaron said.
Helena shook her head as Aaron returned to Ronan’s side and watched the sleeping child.
"And this is Caleb Firelake," Helena said pointing to the most boisterous and charismatic of the five.
"Oh, he’s the one that kept us entertained the whole time," Alyssa chuckled.
"I’m happy to have kept you entertained, Alyssa, welcome to Sunfire City," Caleb said with a wink.
"She’s mated," Rae grumbled as she crossed her arms on her chest only to be teased by Rebecca who sat next to her.
"I know, Rae," Caleb chuckled.
"He is entertaining, Rae," Alyssa said, grinning at her stepdaughter.
Caleb winked at Rae’s direction before backing down.
"Now, for the most brooding of Alphas," Helena teased, making the oldest-looking Sunfire Alpha roll his eyes at her, to which Helena only giggled. "Gavin Firefang."
