Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1204 - 1204: Issues
For a while, the king looked surprised… he didn't expect that he would find someone who had more raw power than Rain in that group… he wasn't paying attention to Seadrei fighting, apparently.
When the king checked his right hand, he saw the shadows moving to repair the damage caused… he couldn't let himself block that weapon directly like that for long unless he wanted to get in trouble eventually.
Seadrei landed on the ground and then took a moment to recover… it had been a while since he got such a good hit, but at least that made the tension in his body disappear. Thanks to that, Seadrei, who was about to summon his one hundred water arms, calmed down a bit and then changed his mind… that kind of technique should be kept hidden until it is absolutely necessary.
Like when he had to lead his own group the next time…
When the king was ready to charge again, something suddenly passed in front of his face and then hit his nose. The pain wasn't that high, but it caused some damage… when he looked in the direction the thing flew, he suddenly was hit in the opposite direction, but soon he moved his hand to grab whatever hit him…
Fortunately, Danny was ready for that and soon stopped his advance by summoning an earth wall in his path that propelled him to the side, and he avoided being grabbed. When the giant was about to grab the earth wall and crush it, it turned into dust when it came in contact with his hands… and then enveloped it in one of his fingers.
He didn't know what was the reason for that, but he could tell that it wasn't good and soon repelled all the sand with its shadow magic…
In that short window of time, Seadrei and Sealyn changed positions and then attacked the sides of the knees of the enemy, and broke his stance. In the next moment, Asche fired her arrow that hit the forehead of the enemy.
The combined force of Sealyn's spear, Seadrei's fists, Danny's diversion, and Asche's arrow created a powerful shockwave that echoed through the chamber. The king in the shadows, despite his immense size, was forced to take several steps backward. His massive form trembled, a testament to the impact of the arrow and the group's impeccable teamwork.
Rain observed the result with satisfaction. This kind of coordinated effort was what they needed, showcasing their abilities and exploiting the enemy's weaknesses rather than relying solely on overpowering them. It was a strategy that required finesse and precision, and the effectiveness of the attack spoke volumes about the potential they held as a team.
When the enemy recovered from the combo, he looked very annoyed. Rain could see the shadows moving in his forehead while they tried to repair the damage… it had been high enough that Rain saw the shadows losing some power and the king decreasing in size… as expected, that was what had truly happened…
"The enemy's size changed because he is using mana to reflect his real form," Rain said via Telepathy. "Keep causing damage to him; it will decrease his power. Don't focus on big attacks."
"Heh, this telepathy thing is really convenient, huh?" Asche asked.
The giant form of the king functioned as a formidable shield for him, providing a certain level of increased power but not in an exponential manner. The limitation was in place to prevent the rapid depletion of the king's energy reserves. If the power boost were too extreme, it would lead to a swift exhaustion of the energy required to sustain the giant form.
Recognizing this vulnerability, Rain and the others strategized accordingly. Rather than launching powerful, singular attacks that the giant form could potentially block, they adopted a tactic of constant small attacks. The sheer volume of these smaller assaults overwhelmed the enemy, making it impossible and exhausting to try and block each one.
This approach exploited the giant form's limitation, wearing down him over time.
Simultaneously, Rain played a crucial role by manipulating the cold within the chamber. Gradually, he transformed the ambient temperature into ice, causing it to encase the enemy's body. This icy constraint accelerated the decrease in the giant form's effectiveness, compounding the pressure on the character.
"Urgh…" The king groaned in annoyance when his size decreased to twenty meters.
The enemy realized that Rain and the others found out his weakness… He couldn't keep up with his farce any longer. It was time to go all out… the enemy suddenly summoned countless shadow blades around himself and made them spin around him.
There were numerous rings of those blades and each one of them spin at a different rate, speed, and direction… blocking those would be a massive ordeal… However, the enemy began to decrease in size clearly with every passing moment, and so he charged at them.
In that brief moment of time, Rain grabbed his sword and then gathered all the cold in the area toward the weapon. At the same time, he charged at the king with the ominous sword in hand… when he was about to attack him. All the shadow blades were pointed toward him and fired all at once… piercing his body from countless angles.
Everyone opened their eyes widely when they saw that… to think that the enemy would change all of his strategies to take down Rain… even though it was supposed to be useless since people couldn't actually die in that zone… his hatred toward him was that intense.
Still, before long, the shadow blades disappeared, and Rain reappeared, covered in the shadow of Elisabetha's anger… he was bleeding all over, but it didn't look like the damage was critical…
"Dad! Are you all right?" Danny asked.
"Kind of… finish him off for me while I, uh… deal with some issues here," Rain said.
