Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1203 - 1203: Together
To confirm his suspicions, Rain fired an ice spear at the mage, and then, as soon as it crossed the limits of his domain, it was hit by dark bolts of energy and fell on the ground before long… they weren't only being targeted yet thanks to Rain's domain.
While they tried not to show that, it was hard to keep their composure in such a situation where they couldn't take a single step out of an area. Still, they couldn't show that… if the enemy wanted to play that kind of game, then they would play that game.
Seadrei, Danny, and Sealyn soon began to charge their mana on another golden arrow that Asche was charging her arrow as well… In the next moment, the cloaked mage raised his arms, and then the ice shards on the ground began to move toward the other pillars and cover them as well… before long, they cracked, and all the smoke covered the pillars and started to harden.
"Shit… I knew that I would have to learn a lot more team battles, but this is just too annoying," Rain thought.
Still, if the enemy wanted to play like that, then that was a game that everyone could play. There was no point in holding back anymore since the next would be the fifth challenge, after all.
Rain, realizing the necessity to counter the cloaked mage's strategy, swiftly equipped his ice skills. Raising his arms, he tapped into the power of his domain. Before long, a powerful wave of intense cold emanated from Rain's domain, sweeping across the entire chamber. In a matter of seconds, the temperature fell below freezing, transforming the surroundings into a frigid landscape.
The sudden drop in temperature caught everyone off guard, including the king in the shadows. As the cold seeped through the chamber, the cloaked mage struggled to cope with the biting frost. Faced with the chilling onslaught, he also hastily conjured a full plate armor made of shadows, attempting to shield himself from the numbing cold.
Rain's strategic maneuver not only disrupted the enemy's plans but also showcased the versatility of his skills. The frozen environment added a layer of complexity to the ongoing battle, forcing both sides to adapt quickly to the ever-changing conditions within the prison.
"I am countering his shadow magic," Rain said, using Telepathy again. "However, I can't do this forever. I don't even know how much mana he has access to now. So, we have a time limit. Five minutes. Also, I won't be able to use mana for anything else, so good luck."
"Once he shows up, we won't hold back," Sealyn declared.
"Try not to show too many of your cards," Rain said. "Focus on the mission, and we will win in the end and in all senses."
Everyone nodded, and then eventually, Asche fired another arrow… but this time, the crystals didn't try to stop the projectile… it pierced through the cloaked enemy and froze it instantly… that was the power that Rain granted by freezing the entire place, and it looked like the king in the shadows decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to fight that directly.
In the next moment, the king in the shadows jumped from his throne and then almost landed on the floor. He stopped midair as he was hit by the energy of the crystals. Thanks to that, his body began to pulsate with power and grow.
"It is time to call our Megazord as well… wait, we don't have one," Rain said.
"I wonder how you and Nigel don't get along. You two are basically the same," Elisabetha said.
Rain ignored Elisabetha's comments while he watched the king in the shadows grow… he wondered how that was possible; it was hard to imagine how a single monster would have creed so much power in the room, and now the king in the shadows could use that power… maybe the cloaked mage did something as well.
Regardless, the team battle took an inexplicable turn in that situation, and they had to find a solution to it.
"Asche, charge the arrow by yourself. We will keep that guy busy," Sealyn said. "He should be tough enough to withstand most attacks now. Still, this should be the strongest point that he could be in a team battle, and we need to determine how much damage he can withstand…"
Everyone nodded, and then they moved from Rain's domain as the crystals in the pillars began to shatter and fall on the ground. For a moment, Rain expanded his domain to get a feeling of how much stronger the enemy had become, and in terms of size alone, his mana pool increased by ten times…
"I guess it wouldn't be fair to make it increase by five times only when our teamwork enhances our strength," Rain furrowed his eyebrows.
The king in the shadows stopped growing when he began thirty meters tall, It was enough for him to move well in the chamber, and that wasn't enough… when he landed on the ground, he looked completely unfazed by the cold… even though Rain was trying to control it to only damage the king instead…
With a speed that didn't make any sense considering his size, the king charged toward Asche and then immediately tried to kick her. Seadrei was the one who reached him first and managed to stop his kick with his arms, but soon he was sent flying and spiraling in the air toward the opposite direction…
When he hit the ceiling of the chamber, his body convulsed as all the air in his lungs left his body.
The king moved his body and prepared his stance to jump and smash him, but soon he was attacked by the side… he barely had the time to protect his face with his right forearm when Sealyn hit him with her spear… the impact made the entire room tremble, and the king was pushed to the side for several meters.
