In Love With My Fierce Farming Wife!
Chapter 838 - 817 Betrayal

Chapter 838: Chapter 817 Betrayal

Seeing that the other person’s unrepentant expression, she felt that she probably couldn’t stall any longer!

"Stop crying, didn’t you want a puppy? Come on, Aunt Wu will take you to find the puppy, and then to a nice place, where you’ll have whatever you want to eat. There’ll be all kinds of delicious food and drinks, everything!"

The words coming from her mouth were gentle, but the chilling light in her eyes was particularly unnerving.

Little Yanyan became scared and quietly stepped back.

"I, I don’t want a puppy anymore, can we go find the doctor? Aunt Wu, your face, it’s so scary... woo woo..."

"Hehehe... It’s alright! Aunt Wu will take you to a nice place first!"

Su Xian’er said with a fake smile, forcefully dragging Little Yanyan’s hand and pulling her outside.

Little Yanyan was dragged a few steps but stopped crying, "Aunt Wu, I can walk by myself, where are we going?"

"Follow me and you’ll find out!"

Su Xian’er was too lazy to continue the useless chatter and pulled her along faster and faster. The places on her body and face where she’d been stung by hornets were burning with pain, causing her complexion to look awful!

As a woman as beautiful as a flower led a little girl by the hand, they immediately attracted attention.

Soon, a troop of officials surrounded them, eyeing Su Xian’er with her swollen face.

"Halt! Who are you?"

Su Xian’er stood there without a hint of fear, straightening her back.

"I am a distant cousin of Lord Jun Ruochen, and I wish to see him!"

Jun Ruochen was stationed here, currently scrutinizing a map, discussing the current battle affairs with his aides and subordinates.

As time passed, the young Jun Ruochen had shed his youthful naivety and gained a sense of steadiness and maturity, his face now possessed the charm of a mature man. However, the constant smile that used to play on his lips had vanished, replaced by silence and restraint.

An attendant quickly entered from outside and whispered into Jun Ruochen’s ear.

Jun Ruochen raised an eyebrow, his face expressing surprise before he waved his hand to dismiss the attendant.

The subordinates reporting on military affairs soon noticed that Lord Jun seated above was distracted. They were all sharp enough to find an excuse to take their leave temporarily.

After sitting alone for a while, Jun Ruochen finally stood up, walked slowly out of the house, and headed towards the rear courtyard.

Over the years, he had deliberately avoided hearing that person’s name. Completely unexpectedly, he had been assigned to lead the troops. From the moment he received the Imperial Decree, he knew that eventually, there would be no avoiding or escaping!

He also knew that His Majesty was already displeased with the Jun Family. The Jun Family seemed glorious, but they were actually walking a fine line between the glory of the threshold and the gates of hell. In the blink of an eye, everything before them could turn into a mirage!

Before departing, his grandfather personally called him to the study. How could he not understand the gravity of the words spoken to him?

He had long vowed to forget the figure that he had deeply buried in his heart!

But why was there someone who obstinately refused to let go, repeatedly, and incessantly bringing it up?

Perhaps noticing that he had been standing there too long, an attendant couldn’t help but softly call out, "My lord, you see..."

Jun Ruochen finally broke free from his memories, looking at the attendant beside him, "Where are they? Where did you arrange them?"

"Just inside the courtyard."

The attendant couldn’t help but lower his voice, "Because I didn’t know what you would wish, I didn’t dare act rashly and brought that person in. So..." The attendant stealthily checked Jun Ruochen’s expression.

Jun Ruochen fell silent for a while before striding with haste into the courtyard.

In the room, Su Xian’er covered her face, which was swollen to one side, glaring furiously at Little Yanyan, looking as though she wished she could devour her whole.

Contrary to expectations, Little Yan Yan wasn’t afraid of her at all!

Since being brought in, she had taken a seat opposite Su Xian’er and calmly picked up the snacks laid out, savoring them slowly with Clear Tea, without so much as a glance at Su Xian’er.

"My Lord, please come inside."

With the sound from outside, a tall figure appeared at the doorway.

Jun Ruochen, clad in battle armor, stepped inside and lifted his gaze to see the two sitting opposite each other at the table.

Although Su Xian’er was in considerable discomfort, she stood up upon seeing Jun Ruochen for the first time.

"This humble woman, Su Xian’er, pays her respects to Lord Jun."

The surname Su?

Jun Ruochen stared at Su Xian’er for a long while, his gaze finally resting on Little Yan Yan at the side, leisurely chewing on pastries, not bothering to stand. The familiar yet youthful face of the girl immediately enlightened him!

"You are Su Xian’er? The sister of Su Pan’er?"

Su Xian’er subconsciously clenched her fists tightly.

It was Su Pan’er again!

Why did everyone have to refer to her, Su Xian’er, with the phrase "the sister of Su Pan’er"? She loathed it!

Outwardly, however, she respectfully curtsied, "Indeed, I am Su Xian’er!"

Jun Ruochen’s face regained its calmness and he slowly walked up to Little Yan Yan, examining her closely, though his words were indifferent.

"Did you come to see me today for a reason?"

Su Xian’er lifted her head and looked at Jun Ruochen, "I believe My Lord is already aware of the purpose of my visit today!"

Back then, during his time in Luoyan Village, because of Su Pan’er, they had actually met on a few occasions. She just didn’t know if he still remembered her.

Jun Ruochen didn’t respond but looked deeply into her eyes.

"From the look of your face, it seems you were stung by a hornet? Fortunately, I have a Military Doctor with me. Go down and let the doctor have a look, lest it worsens."

A hornet sting can either be a minor or a severe issue; there have been numerous instances of people losing their lives due to allergic reactions.

Su Xian’er understood this all too well, especially since the area where she was stung by the hornet was giving her excruciating pain. Though she wanted to mention her concerns about Little Yan Yan and say a few more words, Jun Ruochen would not let her speak further and had already sent attendants to take her away.

As Su Xian’er walked out the door, she turned back to look at Little Yan Yan, who still sat calmly in her chair.

There was a tranquil expression on Little Yan Yan’s face, and her eyes, full of mockery, were nothing like her usual sweetness.

Such a look sent a shiver down Su Xian’er’s spine. She wanted to look again, but the attendants forcefully led her away.

"You are Qin Yan Yan, the daughter of Su Pan’er, aren’t you?"

When only the two of them were left in the house, Jun Ruochen finally asked in a low voice.

The little girl in front of him wasn’t very old, but her face was almost an exact replica of Su Pan’er’s, so even if he wanted to misidentify her, it would be impossible.

Little Yan Yan had been sipping on Clear Tea when she heard him, and she gently pushed the teacup away.

Blinking her large eyes that seemed to speak, her bright eyes twinkling clear and transparent, she tilted her head to look at him!

"Are you my Uncle Jun? The refreshment is gone, Uncle Jun!"

She smiled sweetly at him.
