Chapter 87. Discussion
Chapter 87: 87. Discussion
The others turned to look at Dylan.
Dylan nodded.
There was no need to keep this a secret from the others anyway. "My grandfather is staying in a hotel under our family temporarily. However, there are more and more people who has to move from downstairs, so it’s not very comfortable."
The hotel where his grandfather was staying was not very far from here.
Because the house where his grandfather has been staying lately was flooded, his grandfather quickly resettled himself to move towards another place. It was also because of this that he was still fine even if the flood reached extremely high.
But at the same time, there were many people who lived in a hotel.
The hotel where his grandfather stayed was filled with people and once a floor was flooded, a lot of people had to be relocated upstairs.
Because of his grandfather’s status, he was able to live by himself so far.
But it was unknown how long this will last.
Now that the rain had stopped, Dylan wanted to go see his grandfather and see whether he was fine or not.
There will definitely be many people who come out.
Half would be going to find supplies.
The other half would be going to find their families.
But the problem was that not everyone has boat. Those who have boat will have to be careful because there will be people aiming to them.
"Do you need help?" Mark asked.
"I also have an assault boat. Don’t ask me why I have that thing. It’s put inside the storage room and I only found it recently," Dylan replied. "If possible, I might bring them here since this place is safer."
Them as in his grandfather and the butler.
Dylan’s parents were no longer here. They passed away when Dylan was still very young, so he was raised by his grandfather. Because he was considered as the ’successor,’ his grandfather was also very strict with him.
This is what caused Dylan to be tossed outside and also somewhat feared his grandfather.
But the two of them truly cared for each other.
And Dylan definitely couldn’t let his grandfather stay by himself in that hotel. If possible, he wanted to bring his grandfather here.
"Hey, if your grandfather come here, I think it’s better for us to move upstairs again." Mark calculated the room and shook his head. It wouldn’t be very good for him to take the space that belonged to Dylan.
"You’re going to the base first, aren’t you?" Dylan asked in confusion.
"Not now." Mark showed his phone. "My father told me to go there at least after a few days because they are currently rearranging the people and needed to settle down. It’s also because of this that I have to stay here for the time being."
"I see." Dylan nodded.
"How about you, Lucy?" Anna asked.
"I’m going with Mark. My parents are with his parents in the base anyway." Lucy stretched her hand. "But I’m clearly being treated as a child because they didn’t let me come earlier to help them."
For this matter, Lucy wanted to protest.
She knew that she was not an excellent child, but there was no problem in helping a little from the side.
They just didn’t allow it.
For this matter, Lucy will also stay in this apartment temporarily.
"Ok."
Anna looked at the others and pursed her lips.
Everyone has a place where they would be staying while she didn’t have any. Her grandfather from her mother’s side was living in different city. And since there was a flood, she was not entirely sure where they were staying now.
Besides, she was not very close to her grandfather and the others because she rarely met them.
Bothering them at this juncture would be unwise.
Moreover, Anna was also afraid of her space being made known to others. In that situation, she might put herself in danger because of her abilities that was more like an auxiliary ability.
Who could guarantee she will not be used as mobile transportation?
Anna didn’t want to take the risk.
She didn’t know the other relatives from her mother’s side either. They would be with her grandfather. Since she didn’t know them, she also didn’t know their personality and whether they could be trusted or not.
But as a person who knew very well that human’s heart couldn’t face a lot of trials, Anna didn’t want to test it.
It would be better for no one in the world to know the truth of her space.
In that situation, it would be safer for her to live alone.
But can she truly live alone.
Anna looked at her three friends and sighed from deep within her heart. She knew that staying near other people will put her at risk of exposure because she will definitely use her space.
But so what?
Life is short.
She will take this bet and try her best to live with her friends while trying to conceal the truth of her space.
At the very least, she would not feel lonely at all.
There might be other worries that she has to face, but Anna didn’t want to think about it.
"Are you going with us, Anna?" Lucy asked.
Anna tilted her head and looked at Dylan. "I’ll think about it later, but I should be going to the base at the end."
At the very least, living in the base meant that she didn’t have to worry too much about her safety. There will be others who will protect them since it was similar to how the city was before these flood started.
And with her friends around, it wouldn’t be lonely.
But Anna didn’t want to go there now.
Hearing Mark and Lucy’s words, she could guess that the base has only started to take shape.
For ambitious people, they will go there to establish themselves.
But for Anna, she would just wait until the situation was stable enough before going.
