Chapter 316. Encounter (2)
Chapter 316: 316. Encounter (2)
After Dylan was out of sight, Sana glanced at her brother. "I thought that our family and their family is not in a good relationship?"
"That’s the matter of our elders, so why are you involving me?" Sean asked back, not convinced with it. "Anyway, I don’t think that I should treat him any differently since he’s my old friend and I don’t want to make more enemies if possible."
Sana sighed and shook her head.
She felt that her brother was indeed too naïve. Even after the world changed like this, he kept on being like this and was unwilling to change his view and all. It seemed that the family future would be left to her.
Thankfully, their father didn’t really care whether it was her or her brother who inherited the family back then. He was also more reassured with her compared to her brother who was so naïve.
He simply felt that everyone could be friend.
But the world was much more sinister than that.
"Come on, Father is waiting for us."
"Ok."
...
Dylan didn’t think much about his encounter with Sean and Sana. He only felt that Sean was still as friendly as ever. Even though the head of Mason Family was annoying, Sean was the only exception in that family.
He was not calculating like his other family members and always gave out the warm feeling.
To be honest, Dylan didn’t know whether a man like that would be able to survive in this harsh world or not.
"Meow?" Are you close to them?
Kitty was still lounging on Dylan’s shoulder as he pondered about this. He hadn’t seen Dylan played with the Mason Family’s sibling in a long time. But in his impression, Dylan was not close to them.
"Hmm? You know that I don’t understand your words, Kitty." Dylan was a bit helpless with the cat on his shoulder. He was itching to know more about what Kitty was saying, but the language barrier still prevented this from happening.
And there was nothing they could do.
The researchers couldn’t possibly create a translator when they have no reference about what Kitty was saying at all.
"Meow!" ugh! I’m only asking about those two.
Dylan saw Kitty pointed at the back and recalled Sean and Sana. "I’m not close to them and I don’t know why they stopped me. Anyway, a little greeting wouldn’t hurt, right?"
Kitty: "..."
Well, that was true and he couldn’t say anything about it.
"Meow."
Dylan chuckled when he heard the lazy tone of the cat. This meant that his answers satisfied the cat or it hit the question he was about to ask. Even if he couldn’t understand the cat, he could still hear the difference in the tone the cat used to talk to him from time to time.
When he was lazy, when he was annoyed, when he was hungry, and so on...
*sigh*
Dylan often felt that he was simply the caretaker of the cat as time passed.
"Meow?" Kitty suddenly raised his head and turned to the back and then patted Dylan’s shoulder.
Dylan sensed the annoyance in Kitty’s tone and turned his head. Upon seeing Tasha Davis not far from them, his expression also darkened. He felt that his luck for the day was really bad.
"Let’s hurry back."
"Meow."
Dylan sped up and nearly ran towards his uncle’s place.
On the back, Tasha saw Dylan and her eyes lit up. She wanted to chase after him, but Dylan had disappeared very quickly.
Dylan’s physical strength after getting his ability has been very high, so other people wouldn’t be able to get close to him if he didn’t want to. Well, it was more like he was able to outrun most people except those who awakened speed related enhancement ability.
Those people’s physical strength was definitely better than those who awakened elemental ability.
And those with physical strength or other attributes’ enhancement would usually train their body to increase their ability. Either it was strength, speed, or even stamina, they worked their hardest to practice and increase their abilities.
Anyway, with Dylan’s ability, he was definitely able to outrun most people, even those with awakened ability.
Tasha managed to awaken her ability.
But there was a limit to how many of those liquid that the researchers could distribute to others. Aside from the five leaders, their family members could only get a little bit and it was only recently agreed on.
In the other bases, the situation was similar because these researchers were working together to make it.
In fact, some bases are worse because they couldn’t find any source to make the liquid. Three cities could get it from the lake, including City A Base. Many others had trouble.
City C that was near the sea was also not doing it easily because the sea’s essence concentration was not very high. It might be caused by the large size, but their liquid was lesser than the one made in City A Base.
In this situation, most people wouldn’t be able to reach the rank 2 that the higher ups had agreed upon.
They would only be in the first rank, still getting used to their very limited ability.
Tasha was the same.
So she was left behind very quickly.
Looking at Dylan’s back, Tasha stomped her feet in annoyance. She wanted to go directly to Uncle Darien’s house, but the last time she went there, Butler Henry called the guard and said directly that this woman was not welcomed in their house.
It could be seen that she wouldn’t be able to get close to Dylan like this.
Bang!
Dylan glanced to the back and saw Tasha was firing fire. He arched his eyebrows slightly and only felt that even though this woman was annoying, the gene from her family was still very good.
Many people from their family managed to awaken their abilities.
After that, Dylan continued to quicken his pace as he went back to his uncle’s house.
