Chapter 317. Awake
Chapter 317: 317. Awake
"I’m back."
"You sure take your time." Anna looked at Dylan with dissatisfaction.
"Sorry, Sister~. Kitty is not cooperating well."
"MEOW!" Don’t you throw your pot to me!
Kitty hissed and jumped down from Dylan’s shoulder. He went to Anna and jumped up to her embrace.
"Hey, Kitty." Anna chuckled and hugged Kitty happily. "Ugh, you’re getting heavier. Is it because you eat too much or because you’re a mutated animal?"
"Meow." It should be the second one.
Kitty considered this matter seriously. As he knew, most mutated animals were very big, so it shouldn’t be surprising that he was also a bit bigger than usual, right?
Butler Henry looked at these two and then said, "Young Madam, most mutated animals are getting bigger than their usual size. But size doesn’t really determine the strength of the mutated animals."
"Oh? The researchers have more research about this?" Anna was curious.
Uncle Darien glanced at Anna from his phone. "There’s a battle between the army and the large number of mutated animals. It’s a joint cooperation and will be announced in the app in the near future to let the people be wary of going out and encounter the mutated animals."
Wary of going out?
Thinking about her activity with Dylan over the past month, Anna rubbed her nose. The two of them often go out of the base and headed to their own little base. They did encounter some mutated animals outside, but these mutated animals were not very strong.
Bullets could still pierce through the skin of these mutated animals.
And even Kitty could claw them out.
Their abilities were also very useful after they had practiced several methods of attacking. These mutated animals were definitely not their match.
But it was also possible that these mutated animals were the lowest rank, which was why they could easily handle them.
If the mutated animals were of higher rank...
Then Anna didn’t know whether they could still handle them with the same ease. But perhaps, if their ability got stronger, they could?
Anna didn’t know.
"You often go out, right?" Uncle Darien looked at his nephew.
Dylan coughed, but he still nodded his head. "Don’t worry, we’re always being careful when we got out and didn’t do anything strange when fighting these mutated animals."
"You met them?"
"Only occasionally one or two," Dylan replied.
Uncle Darien frowned.
There were also soldiers who patrolled the area, but the snow hindered them from going too far from the base. After all, it was not that easy to travel in the snow and taking care of the snow outside the base was also another problem.
So far, they did encounter some mutated animals.
But it was definitely very rare.
Now that Dylan said that he also encountered some mutated animals, it meant that their number had actually increased at large number but they just didn’t manage to find it in time in the past.
How troublesome.
"It seems the security has to be increased." Uncle Darien sighed.
Dylan looked at his uncle with sympathetic expression. He felt that his uncle has always been very busy and didn’t have the time to rest.
Oh well, it was his choice.
He turned to look at his grandfather. "How’s grandfather?"
"Father is fine," Uncle Darien replied. "He just need more rest. The fever is not too bad and Dr. Mike kept on checking every hour."
"Good, then."
Dylan went to take some fruits and then stood at the hall to practice his ability. He definitely couldn’t practice beside his grandfather because the cold temperature would disturb his grandfather.
This was one of the disadvantage of his element.
Kitty stayed on Anna’s feet as she sat quietly beside Old Master Daniels, reading and occasionally turning her head to look at Old Master Daniels.
...
It took two days for Old Master Daniels to fully recover.
During this period of time, Anna and Dylan stayed in Uncle Darien’s house. There were more than enough empty rooms there and the two of them stayed in one of them. Kitty naturally stayed with Anna and Dylan had to push that annoying cat out of the bed so that he would not disturb their sleep.
So Kitty stayed on the cushion beside the bed.
Old Master Daniels recovered a bit slower than the others, but it might be because of his age.
And when he finally woke up, he also caused another strange phenomenon.
This time, the furniture around him looked like they were cut by sharp weapon but there was nothing. The worst was naturally his bed, which collapsed and nearly unable to support his weight anymore.
"You should have bought a metal bed instead, Uncle," Dylan commented after his grandfather woke up. He looked at the bed below his grandfather and felt that it was good he was staying far away.
"It feels like wind blade." Anna rubbed her hand.
She was the one who stayed nearest of Old Master Daniels, so she was affected a bit. Thankfully, her reaction speed was also very quickly. She formed the vines and made a wall in front of her.
The vines were cut, but she was fine.
"It seems that some people’s awakening are dangerous." Uncle Darien sighed and he looked at his grandfather. "But I have seen other people’s wind element awakening and it felt different."
Old Master Daniels’ face was also dark.
He didn’t expect that when he just woke up, he would see his room in this kind of state. He felt heartache when he thought of the furniture. These things were not that easy to get in this situation, so having them broken made him rather annoyed.
Not to mention, he nearly hurt Anna, who was staying not far from him.
"Are you alright, Anna?" Old Master Daniels asked.
"I’m fine, Grandfather. You have asked this question several times." Anna looked at Old Master Daniels helplessly. She knew that he was worried, but she was really fine and didn’t really get hurt just now.
