I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 233. Friends?
Chapter 233: 233. Friends?
The people in the car was noisy.
Anna heard their words but she didn’t care. She had more than enough supplies for herself and there was no need for her to join with other teams.
If she had no space, she might be more worried right now.
But there was no if.
So, Anna simply made her way back to the apartment with Dylan walking beside Anna. His eyes swept the people in the car coldly but didn’t say anything.
He felt that these people who tried to take advantage of others were the worst.
"Just ignore them," Anna said. "I’m not close with my classmates and if they want to cooperate together, they are free to do so. I don’t need to get involved with them."
"Are you sure that you’re fine?" Dylan asked back.
"Why should I not be alright?" Anna asked back and chuckled.
"Don’t you have any close friends or better friends whom you can talk with?" Dylan continued.
Close friends?
Anna could only remember Lucy and Mark if Dylan were to ask about close friends. Because she knew very well that most of her other friends were only plastic sisters such as those whom she met in the parties.
The other rich second generation who came to the parties and befriended her back then was only interacting with her because of their background. Since they all came from similar background and didn’t have any hostilities with each other, they could interact from time to time.
But close friends?
They could only be called as plastic sister.
As for her classmates in the school, Anna was not exactly close to them. Even if there was someone who was close to her, Betty would make trouble and pulled those who were close to her to her side.
Thinking about those days, Anna only felt that Betty was very annoyed. If not because she needed the attendance at school, Anna really wanted to ask for permission to study in the library so she didn’t need to see Betty at all.
So the friends she had in the school were only friends to talk with but was not close with each other. It was more like, they couldn’t get close at all because Anna knew that they were not trustworthy.
The only reason why they got close to her was because of her background.
And when she was kicked out of the Williams Family, they didn’t even bother to send any perfunctory consolation message. In that situation, Anna could see very clearly that these people never had her in their eyes.
She didn’t care too much about them either.
It was natural for them not to want to befriend her when they were worried of offending Williams Family.
But it also meant that they were not worthy to be close friends.
"No, I don’t really need them either," Anna replied.
Dylan frowned. "That’s..."
"There are you, Mark, and Lucy," Anna cut off Dylan’s words. "You’re all enough for me."
Dylan arched his eyebrows at Anna’s words and then smiled faintly. "Alright."
They reached their floor and went their separate ways to their respective apartment. Anna sat down in the living room and sighed deeply.
She silently took out the large bathtub and the lake water.
This time, she only separated that specific particle and put it in her space. After it was done, the water was put in a different group again by Anna and then more and more water was used like this.
After a while, countless buckets were already done and Anna started to feel tired.
She felt that the so called barrier in her mind that she sensed was already very close. But there seemed to be something that prevented her from reaching it or even breaking it apart.
Anna pursed her lips.
’Let’s not think too much.’
Being able to have space alone was already a great gift for Anna. She didn’t want to be so greedy and kept on asking for more.
Taking a bath, eating dinner, and so on, Anna then went to sleep.
She planned to continue doing this again tomorrow after coming back.
...
The next day, the temperature dropped even further.
After waking up, Anna silently used another hand warmer and checked her phone. Seeing that the official temperature was stated to be minus 3 degrees Celsius, Anna realized that it was truly winter.
Winter in March...
And it was only beginning.
Anna sighed when she thought that the temperature might drop even further. She hoped that it would not reach the point where it would be impossible for them to live.
For example, zero degree Kelvin...
Well, no one would be able to stay alive in that situation.
Anna put on two heaters in her bedroom as she dragged her portable stove there. It seemed that she would only be living in her room in the future.
After she was done with breakfast, Anna checked her plants in the living room. Thanks to the heater that was turned on, the temperature was still cool and not cold. The plants were fine, but Anna estimated that they might not be able to grow well.
’And here I thought I’ll be able to be self sufficient.’
Anna shook her head and sighed.
Nature was the hardest to predict. Even if humans knew that there were many things they could do, sometimes nature was the one that blocked their ways. They had to use various methods to make sure that they could survive.
Anna silently took out the reusable hand warmer and put it in the water. It might not help much, but at the very least, it could keep the water relatively warm for these plants.
She could only help so much and the rest would depend on these plants themselves.
After it was done, Anna went to see Dylan and check Kitty by the way.
When Dylan heard Anna asked about Kitty, Dylan’s expression was a bit strange. "Well, Kitty is..."
"Is there anything wrong with the cat?" Anna asked.
"No." Dylan sighed. "Just take a look at him by yourself."
