Chapter 220. Fierce Fishes
Chapter 220: 220. Fierce Fishes
"We’re here." The soldier nodded at his comrade who was guarding.
The fence was made a distance away from the lake to prevent them from being hurt by these fishes.
But the lake water was calm right now.
’Where are they?" Lucy asked. She didn’t see even a single fish.
"They’re inside." The soldier took out a piece of rock from his pocket. He had been prepared before they came here. "Watch."
Splash!
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
The moment the rock fell to the water, the calm fishes that was not visible on the surface immediately jumped up, attaching the rock in front of them as fierce as possible. Some bites, some slap with their fish tails, and so on.
It was a mess.
"Whoa!"
They were all stunned when they saw these fishes’ movement in front of them, not daring to come closer. The water splashed everywhere.
"So fierce."
"Their reaction speed is so fast."
They commented around and looked at these fishes that hadn’t calmed down. Anna also looked at these fishes and silently urged the space to take the water from a distance away to her space, a separate place from the other water balls.
So, she had another water balls.
There was drinking water, bath water, rain water, fuel, oil from the factory, and now the lake water.
Anna had the faint feeling that she had become various liquid collector in her space. She urged her space to take more water and in the lake, the calm water become turbulent as more water was missing.
But because these fishes were noisy, no one noticed this phenomenon.
’Is it because there’s something in the lake?’
After nearly one minute, the fishes started to calm down and Anna also stopped taking the water. She had taken a lot of water from the lake because she could take a large volume all at once.
The water volume on the lake decreased, but it was not very obvious because of the lake’s size.
Anna silently thought about taking anything that didn’t belong to the lake to her space, at another different place from the other things once more.
Splash!
Various trashes appeared in her space.
Anna’s expression blackened slightly. Who the hell threw these things to the lake? There were many used up cans, shoes, and there’s even clothes. Because she only said items, these things were relatively clean aside from the sign of tear and wear after being submerged in the water for so long.
Trashes and trashes.
Anna looked at these things and finally shook her head internally. These things were useless and she silently thought to herself to toss them away outside later. Anyway, it could be said that she was cleaning the surface of the water.
With that in thought, Anna’s attention was back to the lake in front of her.
"Sir, is there anything strange from the lake that’s detected that might be the cause of these fishes’ change?" Dylan asked.
The soldier laughed. "The scientists have already tried to salvage things from the lake, but we don’t know the exact details of their research. All we have to do is to protect the lake here."
Protect the lake?
It was more like to prevent others from approaching the lake and hurt themselves.
Dylan nodded and didn’t ask any other question. He looked at the tents in the distance and thought to himself that there might also be researchers here. And the important sample that required so much preparation should be the sample from the researchers.
The water was indeed important but not as important as the research result.
’How troublesome.’
"Are other animals also show such change?" Alan suddenly asked. He didn’t pay much attention to the animals.
"I don’t know. There are not many animals out there that could survive from that savage flood. The rest of the animals are in the specific area that the government had prepared before the flood," the soldier replied.
Huh?
Dylan looked at the soldier and then asked, "You mean, the government had already evacuated the animals and prepared a place for them to stay before the flood occurred?"
"Yes," the soldier replied.
"How do you know this?"
"My friend is in that place." The soldier replied. "He told me that it’s very boring to guard animals all day long and through him, I know that this place has been prepared months ago."
Months ago?
Dylan nodded absent mindedly and looked away. At this time, he had the faint feeling that there should be some people who had already known about this changes ahead of time.
If not because of this, there was no way that they would have prepared a place for the animals.
The base itself was also built ahead of time.
But from what his uncle told him, the flood was not estimated to be as high as it ended up to be. The preparation was lacking and countless people ended up dying in that large flood.
But is it the truth?
Dylan felt cold sweat on his back when he thought about this possibility.
He didn’t want to think about it.
But it was inevitable for him to have some thoughts, especially when he heard about some things.
In the end, Dylan sighed.
Even if it was true, he had no way to prove it or to do anything to those people. Sometimes, it would be better for him not to know anything so as not to be burdened by these things.
Mark patted Dylan’s back. Based on his understanding of Dylan, this friend of his might have already thought about some things that shouldn’t be said out loud. He nodded at the soldier. "Thank you for showing us the lake today. Do you know where we can rest for the night?"
"I’ll take you there." The soldier smiled, not taking Dylan’s question to the heart.
There were many other people who were also curious and had asked him a lot of questions in the past.
