Chapter 221. Rest by the Lake
Chapter 221: 221. Rest by the Lake
The six of them made their way to the tents prepared for them. The tents was much smaller here, which was obviously used for the soldiers to stay.
"Women are over here and men are here," the soldier replied.
"Ah?" Lucy was surprised. "We can’t stay together?"
"Unfortunately no."
"Tsk." Lucy clicked her tongue. She wanted to stay with her husband and discuss the meaning of life at night. But thinking that they were outside, it didn’t seem to be suitable for her to do these things.
Lidia and Anna looked at Lucy’s expression and had a faint guess of what this girl was thinking.
It was estimated that there were many censored images in her mind right now.
"We’re in a mission right now," Lidia couldn’t help but remind Lucy.
"I know," Lucy replied with a grin. "You don’t have to be so serious, Lidia. Enjoy your life more."
Lidia shook her head and didn’t say anything more as she entered the tent to check the content inside. Well, there were only three sleeping bags inside, which was for them to sleep for the night.
For other things, they brought their own backpack.
Lucy entered the tent and sighed deeply. "I guess another cold food for tonight."
Looking at the jerky in Lucy’s hand, Anna’s lips twitched slightly. "You can still eat meat, so it’s good for you."
"How about you?"
Anna silently take out a bread from her bag. It was bread from her space that she had from a long time ago. Since the time in her space was stagnated, the bread was still very good. It could be eaten anytime.
She didn’t want to eat jerky, so she took out the bread.
"There are still bread?" Lucy looked surprised. "Damn, did the supermarket now sell bread?"
"I don’t know, the last time I go there is over a week ago," Anna replied.
"It doesn’t look like the hard bread from the canteen. Did you make it yourself?" Lucy looked at the bread in Anna’s hand.
Anna shrugged and didn’t answer. She only ate the bread in her hand and finished it very quickly before taking another one to eat.
Lucy who watched Anna eat: "..."
Jerky should be more fragrant than bread, but after eating jerky so much, Lucy really couldn’t bear to eat so much anymore.
She sighed deeply and could only swallow the meat in her mouth.
Lidia looked at the other two and eat her meal quietly and then went to sleep quickly. Based on her posture, it seemed that she was able to sleep in the instant she laid down.
"Go to sleep." Lucy patted her sleeping bag and sighed. "Tomorrow will be another tiring journey where we have to sit for a long period of time."
Anna’s lips twitched, but she didn’t refuse and laid down.
...
The night passed by quietly.
When it was morning, they woke up early and helped the soldiers to carry a lot of boxes from the warehouse to their trucks. There were also a few others who had already woken up and started to help out.
The other teams were even earlier.
These boxes all looked the same and if one didn’t know better, they would think that their content was also the same.
But Anna could guess that within these boxes, there should be an important box that had to be protected at all cost.
"Are you ready?" Lucy asked with a yawn.
"You can sleep again later if you’re sleepy." Mark looked at his wife helplessly. "We still have a long journey ahead."
"Uh huh."
Anna looked at this place and pursed her lips silently. She rubbed her hand and then got closer to Dylan. "Dylan, do you think the temperature is a bit colder in the morning now?"
It was still a bit warm and not cold, but she had the faint feeling that this temperature was colder than yesterday. She was not very sensitive to temperature most of the time, but this kind of change after not feeling any cold at all lately was a bit strange.
"Hmm?" Dylan arched his eyebrows and nodded lightly. He also had this faint feeling.
Yesterday, the temperature was not as hot as before and today, the morning was a bit colder...
Would there be a change in the temperature again?
When Dylan thought about this, he had a faint headache. It wouldn’t be so easy if the temperature turned cold. Thankfully, they had enough clothes after taking those clothing from the mall back then.
Even if it was a bit cold, but it wouldn’t be so bearable.
But it wouldn’t be enough.
He should figure out a way to prepare if the temperature got colder.
"Yes, it’s getting colder. You should prepare some winter clothing later," Dylan said to Anna.
Anna heard Dylan’s words and blinked her eyes. Winter clothing? She had dozens of them inside her space. Oh wait, not just dozen but hundreds of them. There were male and female’s version.
She would be fine in terms of clothes.
What she needed was an excuse to take them out for Dylan to use so that he wouldn’t be so worried about this.
Huh?
Why is she so worried about Dylan?
Is she still treating him as her little younger brother like in the past? But he had grown up and could take care of himself.
It was just that if Anna were to hear about Dylan having a difficult time, she would definitely feel distressed.
"That..."
"Dylan, Anna, let’s go," Mark said after all the boxes have been loaded to their truck. He didn’t know how much the base needed, but it would be better for them to be prepared.
"Do I need to drive carefully?" Dylan asked back.
"No need, the inside has been sealed and secured."
"Good, then."
The road was not very smooth, so the people who prepared this had been prepared for a rough journey ahead. Even if the driver was not very good, the content should be still safe.
