I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 170. Offices
Chapter 170: 170. Offices
The first few days after the flood disappeared, it was estimated that there would be many people who tried to scavenged around the area and grabbed any items that was available to pick up as much as possible.
Because they knew that if they were too late, other people would grab the items first and it wouldn’t be their turn to take these items anymore.
Some people might still conflict with others.
Especially if they were targeting the same thing.
But because they came here because they wanted to get furniture, they didn’t clash with the others. It was estimated that they saw they were taking furniture and didn’t care too much with them.
It was the fight of food that was fiercer and caused more conflicts.
"Let’s go back. It’s getting hotter too." Anna looked at the sun right on the sky and sighed deeply.
"Shall we go out again after this?"
"Where do you plan to go after this?" Anna asked back.
Dylan thought for a moment and then replied, "The offices to find some supplies."
Anna: "..."
What supplies can you find in offices? Snacks?
Seeing that Anna didn’t seem to understand, Dylan quickly explained that they could get some things in these offices because some of them put their storage in their own offices. Of course, the big companies would have separate warehouse in the suburb but there were also offices that put their items in the same place as their offices.
Thinking about that, Anna agreed.
The four of them went back and this time, it was much faster. They only needed to show their base’s card and then they would be able to enter.
The four of them worked to move the furniture, have lunch, and then departed once more.
Everything was done quickly as if they were worried that there would be nothing if they were late.
"After this is done, I’m going to honestly pick mission and not travel far again." Lucy sighed. "We should be able to earn enough contribution points to buy grains and others for our living."
"The price in the supermarket can’t be said to be cheap." Mark shook his head. "Or do you plan to rely on the internal supermarket."
"Internal supermarket?" Anna asked.
"For the military, they can get discount when buying things in the supermarket. Also, they can ask for the goods to be delivered instead of going there with some payment," Mark replied. "You can think of it as online shopping."
Anna: "..."
The base has already implemented this system?
She was speechless when she thought that this base that has only been built for a short period of time was actually already quite advanced in some areas.
"It’s convenient and if you want to, the so called online shopping can also be used by you. However, the delivery price is a bit higher. There are more than enough people who want to work as delivery man because they can get a quarter of the delivery price."
Anna nodded thoughtfully.
So in a way, it was also opening another job for the people who were living in the base. After all, there were many people and it would be hard to post missions all the time. The missions from the base can be mixed with the missions from others too.
With that in thought, Anna felt that the base was actually developing quite well.
If not because the temperature was so freaking hot, then the situation would feel more like they were going back to normalcy soon.
The four of them departed and headed to one of the company buildings located a distance away from the base.
They went up and checked the place.
As Dylan said, there were still quite a lot of things they could get from the building because of them truly put their goods in the warehouse inside the building. And these goods were phones.
They brought the boxes and planned to exchange it for supplies.
Anyway, they didn’t really need so many supplies.
Aside from these phones, they also found a lot of snacks and tea boxes. Looking at the stack of tea boxes, they had the urge to throw them out.
"How come so many people like to drink tea in the office?" Anna asked speechlessly when she saw the small hill formed by the tea boxes in their truck.
"I don’t know." Lucy was also dumbfounded.
Mark shook his head and turned to look at Dylan. He didn’t know about this either because he didn’t like to drink tea.
"Culture?" Dylan asked doubtfully.
The others: "..."
Anyway, they separated the precious tea from the ordinary ones. These ordinary ones would be all traded for contribution points.
After they were done with their cleaning, they hurriedly go back again.
No one has the intention to stay here for a long period of time.
Besides, it would be evening soon and if they didn’t go back to the base, it would be dark and they couldn’t see the road clearly.
In normal times, it was fine because there were street light and other various colorful lights from the advertisement and also buildings on the side of the street.
But now that the electricity has been cut, only the base has electricity.
They wouldn’t be able to travel properly if they didn’t go back in time.
Thankfully, they managed to reach the base before it was dark.
"Let’s go to the mission hall first." Dylan said.
"We’ll park the car first and you can go to the mission hall. Don’t worry, you can ask to stop the truck temporarily to unload the items for trading."
"...Why didn’t you tell us this before?"
"Because it’s enough to use bags before?"
The others looked at Mark resentfully. The bag was still pretty heavy, alright? If they can use the easy way, who would want to pick the hard way?
Mark rubbed his nose and then directed the car to the parking lot.
Lucy snorted and looked away.
