I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World… -
Chapter 369 - 369: Hydraflam Leptonyx
The large seal was being silently followed by Thalas to keep it from getting away, Logan followed from behind as he slowly extended webs underwater.
He was looking at the long skill list within his mind, thinking about which he could use in this situation. The best option was Enthralling Pulse and then Alluring Chains—the first would attract the beast, while the second would let him use his whip as a restraint for the fast creature who would be unable to move. Both were borrowed from Freya for a short time, who was the Hero of Enchanting, so capturing the creature shouldn't be hard considering how strong Logan was now.
He selected the two skills to use before looking at what others he could add to increase his chances of capturing the beast.
Having both his creatures close in from the front drove the seal back. Its body jumped out of the water two times as if looking for a direction to go safely.
[Zephyr to the left!] Logan smirked. How was any creature going to escape him when he had so many tames on hand?
As soon as the seal saw the large eagle, it veered right—that was until a large dorsal fin slicing through the water scared it back. It was that of a shark, one of the predators it feared the most.
"Who will you choose to cross paths with?" Logan muttered, voice low.
He was hoping for the creature to choose to go in his direction, but instead it chose to head towards Zephyr while diving down to avoid the flying creature.
Zephyr, however, wasn't going to just let this pass. He began creating a whirlwind that formed a whirlpool underneath him, angered that he was seen as the weakest amongst the creatures present.
[Relax Zephyr, it was probably thinking it could avoid you because you can't swim,] Logan told his creature. Zephyr did not let the seal out of the whirlpool, even raising it above the water with wind magic.
[It needs to learn, to fear you, Master, and to accept its fate…] Zephyr said, still holding slight reproach.
"Sure, toss him here, I have the net ready," Logan called out as Zephyr.
With one sharp gust, Zephyr turned the vortex into a focused updraft. The seal, caught in the sudden pull, was launched directly toward Logan.
As it spiraled through the air, Logan readied the net and pricked his finger, preparing for the blood pact.
Suddenly, in a last-ditch effort, the seal opened its maw and unleashed a stream of fire, transforming the whirlwind it was riding into a raging firestorm mid-air.
"Cheeky one, huh?"
Logan suddenly made the storm stop using his own control over wind. The tornado collapsed, wind dissipating, but the seal was now airborne, ten meters high, and falling fast, and Logan would need to successfully catch it before it really escaped.
Acting swiftly, Logan fired two Darkness Arrows—one into the seal's flipper, the other at the ship's deck. Then he used Shadow Step twice in quick succession, intercepting the seal mid-fall, gripping its flipper, and teleporting both of them onto the ship.
They crashed down in a tangled heap, but Logan used a quick gust to cushion the impact. His whip—now enhanced by Alluring Chains—wrapped tightly around the seal's body. A tendril of darkness sealed its mouth, preventing any further flamethrowers.
"Relax. Now look, this is what you will get if you accept the taming," Logan said, taking out fire crystals. He didn't want to use up any more water crystals since his creatures needed them—it would be great if the beast accepted it.
Logan waited a few seconds. The seal began to stretch its neck as if hoping that a last-minute struggle would get it out of the binds. Too bad for him, Logan was in top shape—his mana reserve was more than half.
As the attempt at escaping failed, the seal finally submitted.
[Cost it will, for you,] he heard the seal's unique voice in his head. The creature scoffed in its own way before getting near the crystals, but before it was able to eat them, it began to glow.
"Oh, come on. Couldn't you wait?" Logan muttered, tossing the beast off the side of the ship just before the evolution took hold. He knew that evolution would sometimes make the creatures grow twice their size.
The seal, who was both surprised by the evolution and by the fact that he was pushed back into the water, tried to flail around before Zephyr helped adjust its fall. He caused it to stop midair before letting him fall about a meter from the seawater.
[Still holding a grudge?] Logan asked, slightly laughing.
"Why do you have to be so rough with the creatures, Logan? That poor seal looked like it was kidnapped and then forced into a contract…" Lisa said, getting close to the side of the ship to see the seal's evolution.
"I do feel sorry for them at first, but they are but mere beasts before I tame them. They gain some intelligence after that, and then again after their evolution. Don't mix my tamed creatures with the regular animals of this world," Logan shrugged. He then held on to Lisa's waist from behind as they watched the evolutionary process finish.
The seal who looked like a sea lion began to look more ferocious. Logan recalled one creature that had that type of appearance.
"A type of leopard seal?" Logan said, noticing the feline-like face, its sleek body, and the way it turned to look up at Logan—seeming to say, come fight me now.
"What do you think, should I discipline our new recruit?" Logan whispered toward Lisa's ear. He still had some slight hesitation about his future choice—he had only withheld the information about her being able to return for a week or two, but it was driving him crazy inside.
"Why do you need to? Have it fight Zephyr. He should feel what his position is after that," Lisa said. She shook her head, knowing the poor creature would regret its defiance.
[Zephyr, you heard it right, slap some manners into the creature, make sure you teach him well this time, just don't hurt him to bad,] Logan told his second tamed beast, one he trusted just as much as Scorch.
Zephyr screeched hearing those words with delight, he began creating a real tornado this time, just as before he was not going to let the newcomer escape so easily underwater.

Flame Jet: Propels itself forward using a burst of fire expelled from its maw or heat vents along its sides. Can be used mid-swim or mid-leap, allowing for high-speed charges and fire-lined impacts.
Molten Maw: Bites with superheated jaws that burn through metal and armor. Causes lingering burn damage and panic in aquatic prey.
Blazing Torrent: Fires a spiraling cone of boiling water and flame, dealing hybrid burn and pressure damage. Especially effective in water-rich environments.
Heatwave Howl: Emits a powerful roar that distorts air and weakens enemy focus. Reduces accuracy and may cause disorientation from heatstroke.
Inferno Dive: Leaps from sea to sky before crashing down in a fiery slam that scorches the battlefield. Deals AoE fire damage, stronger when launched from water.
Fire Veil (Passive): Constantly radiates heat, boiling nearby water and reducing the effectiveness of frost or water attacks.
Abyssal Scald: Superheats a small underwater radius, creating a boiling trap that damages and slows anything pursuing or surrounding it.

Logan had a rough time thinking of a name he hadn't used before, but he was glad to have such a rare creature—one able to use both water and fire in a variety of skills.
As for the creature itself, it was pitiful for now—tossed left and right by a strong gale, left spinning in the air and unable to do much.
[Alright Zephyr, I think that's enough,] Logan called out. The fight had lasted less than a minute. The creature had no way to retaliate—its flames were blown to the side, while its water-based moves needed it to be in the sea to be effective.
This, however, was mostly due to the level difference between the two, and also the blessings Zephyr had over all other wind-based monsters.
As soon as Ignavor was released, it slipped into the water and hid beneath the ship.
"I think it won't act up again," Lisa said, patting Zephyr, who had come closer to be praised.
"Yeah, but now I'll have to wait for it to recover before I can speak to it. I really want to know why it's fire elemental. Could there possibly be an island around here with volcanic activity?" Logan wondered aloud, curious if there were more dual-type creatures hidden in the region.
"Guess we can only ask Lady Elara about our finding. Now, let me continue helping Kryst with the crystals—we'll be needing more for Thalas. I really want to see his evolution."
Lisa kissed Logan before heading back to where Kryst was hard at work, she had already produce a crystallin tree in all three ships.
