Chapter 995: You’re safe now, Heaven.

"Can she get up and fight in this state? From a doctor’s point of view and a friend, can she?"

Moose’s remarks halted at Dominic’s sudden question. Deep lines appeared between his brows, observing Dominic, who was still staring intensely at his wife.

"Fight?" Moose scoffed. "To be honest, if I’m being personal, she can. With all her injuries healing up at such an impossible speed, she might be running around in a few days. That is, if she responds!"

"Wait." He paused and frowned, looking at Dominic in displeasure. "Do you think she would escape?"

"No. I’m not talking about her," Dominic whispered, eyes still on Heaven, planting his hand on her shoulder. He smiled while his lips quivered, patting her shoulder as mild as he could, it almost appeared awkward. "You’re safe now, Heaven."

He nodded reassuringly, swallowing down the lump in his throat. Those present especially, Bear, Moose, Fig, and Tiger furrowed their brows. Did he call her Heaven? As far as they knew, Dominic had been calling her Hera whenever it was them. But then again, Ivy and Axel were present.

That must be the reason... they thought until they heard Dominic’s next remarks.

"Leo is also safe," added Dominic and everyone almost held their breath as her eyes crawled in Dominic’s direction. "I checked on him a few days ago, and he wouldn’t stop telling me to help you. He was practically begging. He was worried sick that something bad might have happened to you."

Tears slowly rolled down Heaven’s temple, staring at Dominic squarely. Her lips parted, quivering as she tried to whisper out her words.

"It’s... my fault." Her voice was coarse and shaky, speaking just a few words left a painful scratch on her throat, but she forced herself to speak more. "... sorry... I’m sorry, Dominic Zhu."

Moose dropped the chart in his hand while everyone’s faces went blank, staring at her listlessly. Tiger even staggered back, grasping what this situation was.

"Clark?" Ivy called, confused, noticing Fig, Bear, and Moose had the same shocked expression. "What’s going on —"

"What did you do?!" Before anyone could react, Moose roared and grabbed Heaven’s shoulder. His eyes blazed while his entire body trembled, clasping Heaven’s shoulders tighter. "Why you... what did you do? Where is she?"

Heaven whimpered, wincing at the pain in her shoulders. Moose shook her aggressively as if he hadn’t taken care of her delicately for the past week.

"Moose, you’re hurting her," Dominic remarked, but Moose ignored him.

"Why are you here?" he asked under his breath. "And what did you do to her? Of course, I know it’s your fault. If not for you, this wouldn’t happen. There’s no way she would end up in such a state unless she didn’t have a choice."

Moose stopped momentarily, grinding his teeth. "Tell me... are really... Heaven?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course, she’s my sister!" Axel yelled, jumping into the scene and grabbing Moose’s shoulder away from Heaven. "What the hell is wrong with you, man?! Are you crazy!? Can’t you see you’re hurting her?!"

Axel clicked his tongue, standing in front of Moose defensively. "Mr. M, I respect you, but you can’t just hurt my sister! She just got out of the coma. Aren’t you a doctor!? You should know that acting like this is something you shouldn’t do to your patients."

"Tiger!" Fig jumped to Tiger, hugging him from behind to stop the man from jumping into the scene.

Hearing this, Axel turned to Tiger and just like Moose, he was like a feral, ready to bite his big sister!

Dominic pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed heavily. When he dropped his hand, he cast Bear a look.

"Bernard, remove everyone from here," he ordered solemnly. "I want to talk to her alone."

Dominic’s voice brought Bear back from the current lapse. However, Bear didn’t respond immediately. He needed a moment to process this information. After a minute, he just nodded and cast Fig a look.

"Drag him out, use force if you must," said Bear, only for Tiger to roar.

"No! Removing me here —"

"Tiger." Bear looked at him dead in the eye. "Please."

Tiger’s face scrunched up as his tensed body relaxed.

"Miss Wei, please look after him for a while," Bear added and then approached Moose. He placed a hand on Moose’s shoulder. "Let’s go, you too, second young master. Let’s give Dominic and Heaven a private time to talk."

"But..."

"Second young master, please."

Axel frowned, glaring at Moose. "Fine!" he said, stomping his feet away, following Fig, Tiger, and Ivy out.

"Moose, let’s go," Bear said, but Moose kept his fiery eyes on Heaven.

"I can’t."

"Moose."

"I’m still her doctor," Moose reasoned out, lifting his eyes to Dominic. "Let me stay. At least, let me hear what she has to say. I promise I won’t lose my cool again."

For a moment, Dominic and Moose stared at each other. Dominic assessed Moose’s eyes and the air surrounding the man. Moose was highly emotional as if he just snapped when he realized this woman wasn’t the woman they expected to wake up.

"Alright," Dominic nodded, shifting his eyes to Bear. "You’ll stay, Bear. If he does something, take him out, even if it means you need to get rough."

"Yes."

With that being said, Dominic’s eyes fell on Heaven once again. He pressed his lips into a thin line, seeing the reflection in those same eyes, yet he couldn’t feel the same feeling he would feel whenever he would look in her eyes.

It was almost strange, and it was hard to explain. However, the moment Dominic saw her eyes, he instantly knew this was not his wife. This was no longer Hera.

"I know this isn’t the right time for this, but... this is a crucial time for us," Dominic started under his breath. "Do you know how you got back into your body?"

Heaven pressed her lips together, keeping her eyes fixed on Dominic. She wanted to ask him how he figured it out so easily. However, her questions were not important at the moment.

"I don’t know," she whispered, forcing herself to speak even if it hurt. "I don’t know how, but what I know is... she risked her life, trying to save me."

She slowly looked away and gazed at the ceiling. Tears continued to flood her eyes, rolling down her temple, and damping the pillow.

"I’m not saying how she marched in the Dragon’s Den to rescue me, but in that car..." she paused, swallowing the little water in her mouth to soothe her throat. "... if I wasn’t careless, Hera — this body wouldn’t end up brain dead, and Joker wouldn’t get caught."
