"They got Joker."

Primo’s and Bear’s faces creased as they stared at Wolf solemnly. Wolf just arrived and was already bringing another bad news.

"Shit," Primo breathed out, ruffling his hair irritably. "I told you to keep it to yourself for now."

Wolf huffed and marched inside, sitting on the vacant couch across from Primo. When he sat down, he slipped his hands inside his suit and took out his phone. He tapped on it several times before tossing the phone on the table.

"I received that on the way here," said Wolf, jerking his chin toward the phone.

Primo and Bear stared at him before their eyes fell on the phone. Primo just stretched his neck to get a glimpse, while Bear slowly reached for it to see it. When Bear held the phone in front of him, his expression darkened.

Joker was tied up in a chair, unconscious. Blood was all over him, and from what he could tell, he passed out after getting beaten up badly. After assessing the photo, Bear leisurely handed the phone to Primo while setting his attention to Wolf.

"Anything else you want to add to our problems?" Bear asked Wolf. "You were supposed to pick him up, but someone else got him. And because of that, look what happened to her."

Primo ignored Bear’s line of question as he zoomed in on the picture, clicking his tongue continuously.

"Don’t make it sound like it’s my fault, Bernard. I sent people to get him, and because of that, I lost those people," Wolf argued calmly. "I didn’t want this to happen to her, but what do you expect me to do? Stay cooped up in a room and wait anxiously to hear whatever news Moose is going to give us?"

He scoffed and shook his head. "Arguing with each other isn’t going to help us right now, Bernard. If you’re already trying your best to suppress your emotions, then might as well gain some sort of advantage while you’re at it."

"I hate to say it, but I agree with him," Primo agreed, tossing the phone back on the small table in between them. "Even if we cry blood, that won’t help Heaven’s situation. Instead of waiting anxiously, we should make progress even if it’s a tiny one. After all, the problem still exists."

Wolf arched a brow as he glanced at Primo. At times like this, Wolf was glad this guy was with them. Primo stayed with them just recently, and if there was someone who was less emotional, that would be him. It was good to have someone like him around when each of them was highly emotional.

"Bernard," Wolf called once more. "I know this is painful for you, and at times like this, it’s better if we have someone to blame on why this had happened to her. However, this is not the time for that. I know you already know that."

Bear ran his tongue across his inner cheek, rendered speechless by the logical and sensible argument thrown at him.

"Hey, Wolf." Seeing that Bear calmed down, Primo snapped his eyes at Wolf. "Do you know who sent this photo?"

"My people are still looking into it."

"Got any progress?"

"None yet. Apparently." Wolf sighed as he shook his head. "It seemed whoever sent this photo used an alternative IP. But one thing is for sure, this person is skilled. Probably just as skilled as Joker for giving us a hard time to track it."

"Is that so?" Primo leaned forward, pushing the phone back to Wolf with his fingertips. "It might not be enough, but look at this."

Wolf furrowed his brows, looking at Primo with doubt. Even so, he picked up the phone and checked it. The photo was already zoomed in, making him squint his eyes.

"Look at the reflection in the glass," said Primo. "It’s not much, and I don’t think this is good news either. But I’m sure you know that tattoo on the back of the person’s hand."

In the photo, aside from Joker’s beaten-up state, the background was messy and dark. One could tell wherever they brought Joker, it was a secluded and messy place where one could do their dirty work. In the background, there were shards on the floor, dirt and trash loitering around, and then a shattered window. It wasn’t noticeable in the first place because of the brightness of the photo, but if one looked into it more, a reflection was seen in the shattered window.

"Those bastards..." Wolf scoffed as he finally saw what Primo saw in the picture. "So, Dragon was able to ally with them as well, huh?"

"It’s a big organization," Primo leaned back, rubbing his chin as he pondered. "Just like the Reapers, they got capable people. So, it’s not a surprise if they have someone like Joker to throw us all off and mess with any leads we got."

A moment of silence followed suit as the three men pondered about it.

"Let me see." After another minute, Bear broke his silence and looked at Wolf. Without saying anything, Wolf handed the phone to him. Bear immediately found the detail Primo caught after a quick scan of the photo.

"Wait." While waiting for Bear to finish looking, Primo couldn’t help but voice out his thoughts. "Is it necessary to help him?"

"What nonsense are you talking about now?" Wolf returned. "Is that even a question? Joker is part of the team and even if he messes things up every once in a while, he’s useful. Moreover, if Heaven isn’t in that surgery room, I’m sure she’ll immediately concoct a plan to rescue him."

"Why?" Primo cocked his head to the side. "Because he’s family?"

Primo blinked twice, darting his eyes between Wolf and Bear. "How about Hera Cruel? Don’t get me wrong. Between Hera and Heaven, I’m more fond of Heaven. But I find it strange that you’re already talking about how to rescue Joker when Heaven is like that because she risked her life trying to save Hera Cruel. Fig is also injured for the same reason, and I’m stricken with guilt and anger because I am the only one who isn’t heavily injured among the three of us."

"Right now, with the little manpower we got, we have to make a critical decision," he continued, leaning forward and resting his arms on his spread legs. "Who are we going to save first? Hera or Joker? Which of the two is more important right now?"
