Chapter 962: Everyone’s fears coming to life II

[Sorrento]

"That damn motherfucker!" Tiger roared as he twisted the steering wheel, driving in the middle of the busy street. "Are they blind!? Can’t they see there are people!?"

Dominic kept his eyes on the side mirror, watching their pursuers drive through the sidewalk and creating more chaos. People were shouting, running for their lives, while the police and Dane unhesitatingly opened fire. Ivy, who was in the back seat, couldn’t help but cover her mouth. She was looking back, watching everything unfold, rendered speechless by the scenarios behind.

On top of the fact that the authorities were only after them, they were too careless in such a busy street where civilians were. Even Dominic and Tiger stopped shooting the moment they entered the city, not wanting to hit any civilians if they engaged in a gunfight.

But those guys...

This only showed how Dane controlled the entire city — maybe the entire country. What a powerful and dreadful man who had no regard for life.

"Take the highway," Dominic breathed out as he checked the map on his phone. "We have to take them somewhere far."

"I know that." Tiger ground his teeth as he caught more police mobile on the end of the street. "That damn Moose is dead after this. Didn’t he say he already got them?! Hold tight! I’m taking the alley!"

Dominic and Ivy instinctively embraced themselves for another abrupt turn. The three of them had to fight force as the car drifted, turning to a small alley. They bounced a little as the side of their car bumped into something, driving through the narrow alley. Their vehicle could barely fit through it, leaving only a few centimeters on either side of it.

"Shit!" Tiger breathed out and stomped on the pedal when they were near the exit.

"Turn left!" Dominic shouted with his eyes on the map while his other hand was on the handle. "Left!"

"Got it!" Tiger shouted back, and as soon as their car emerged from the alley, they drifted to the left.

"Kya!!"

Right outside the alley was another busy street. People were already running and screaming before they came out. But their panic grew louder as the cars that had been running rampant around the city reached the area.

Tiger’s eyes glowed as he gazed ahead, catching a stoplight and stopped cars ahead.

"What..." Ivy whispered a jagged breath, wide-eyed. "Did they block the road?"

Dominic gripped the handle tighter, staring at the sight before them.

"I got no choice," Tiger remarked under his breath. "We have to crash through them."

"It can fit in there!" Dominic pointed at the corner turn of the pedestrian stop on the side. "Barely."

Tiger glanced at the area Dominic was pointing, a little doubtful. The alley was already narrowed, but that space wasn’t enough for them. Even so, it was much better than directly crashing their car against the cars ahead.

"Fine." Tiger nodded. "I’ll give it a go."

As soon as they heard that, Dominic and Ivy embraced themselves for another hellish impact. At this point, they could only accept the rough ride and adrenaline with countless people after them. They also had to turn a blind eye to the damages created by this chase and swallow the little conscience left in them for taking this chase in the city.

They should’ve known Dane’s people would follow them through the ends of the world. Regardless if they hurt innocent civilians in the process. But then again, it wasn’t like they purposely went to the city to protect themselves. It was just that to get to another area, they had no choice but to take the city.

"Oh, god," Ivy whispered as they approached the narrow space at the end of the stoplight. She instinctively shut her eyes while Dominic held his breath. Tiger, on the other hand, ground his teeth as hard as he could.

Sparks flew from the car’s rear, hitting the post and the other car near it. A ringing scratch echoed in their ear as metals crashed against each other, making that five-second moment a lot longer than it should have. Even before they could drive through the narrow corner, gunfire echoed in the air.

"Jerks!" Tiger roared, stopping himself from opening fire as he forced the vehicle through the narrow corner. Their car didn’t stop as soon as it went through, hearing more gunfire from behind as the police opened fire more aggressively.

"Heh!" Tiger snickered as he continued to drive away, heading to the highway.

When Ivy opened her eyes, she looked back to see if someone was still following them. Seeing that some cars were stuck because the road was blocked, she couldn’t help but sigh in relief. Dominic also glanced at the side mirror, relaxing his tensed shoulder a little.

"I guess they thought they’d catch us there," said Dominic, seeing that their traps only worked in their favor, as they couldn’t follow them immediately. "Even so, it’s still not time to feel relaxed."

"Don’t worry. Even if some managed to follow us, it’ll be easier to handle," said Tiger, earning a look from Dominic.

"You’re right." Dominic held the rifle close to him, furrowing his brows as he heard a motor revving. "That sound..."

Dominic glanced at the side mirror, and the moment he did, he caught an SUV suddenly emerging from another street behind them. That vehicle had been on their tail and Dominic didn’t even need to use his brain to know who was in the car.

"Those annoying fucks." Tiger clicked his tongue in irritation. "I’m going to shoot them myself."

Dominic didn’t react for a moment before he raised a hand to stop Tiger from doing the action himself.

"What?" Tiger asked, his tone with a tinge of annoyance.

"Wait," Dominic whispered, eyes in the side mirror. "I don’t think there’s a need for you to bother."

The moment those remarks rolled out of his tongue, a motorcycle suddenly emerged from the side and now riding in between the sedan and SUV. Tiger’s brows rose as he glanced at the rearview mirror, while Ivy squinted her eyes.

"That rider..." she trailed off as she caught the rider jumping on the motorcycle, only to face the enemy without driving the motorcycle.

Meanwhile, those in the SUV had their eyes wide when Moose suddenly jumped from his driving position. Now, Moose was still on the motorcycle, but his body facing them, with a bigger rifle over his shoulder.

"Shit!" Alfred shouted as he turned, but then Moose opened fire. This time, the bulletproof of their car didn’t work with the type of weapon Moose used. The second shot hit their tires, causing imbalance, and they crashed into an establishment.

Moose smirked behind the helmet, only to panic when he realized he wasn’t driving. Doing the same stunt, he jumped in the same spot and faced ahead.

"Oh, shit!" he panicked and drifted, barely saving himself from crashing into a post. "Almost dead!"

As soon as Moose stabilized his balance, he kept his eyes on the sedan ahead. At this point, he knew they succeeded in shrugging off the enemy. That SUV was the last one.

"Mission success..." he trailed off as he heard noises from the earpiece, furrowing his brows before his eyes slowly went wide. His grip on the steering wheel tightened, his lips quivering behind the helmet.

"What... the fuck did you say, Attorney? What did you say happened to her?"
