Chapter 957: Say your prayers

"So, this is how it’s going to be."

Fig stomped on the pedal and took out the pistol from his suit pocket. Now that he wasn’t sandwiching the sedan, he could fight. Primo’s eyes went wide because the moment Fig held the pistol, the cars that were initially tailing them drove off the road as he shot their tires in one try.

"Oh, wow." Primo cleared his throat and held his rifle securely. From his position, he confidently moved half of his body out of the window and sat on it. His feet were inside the front passenger seat, propping his rifle over the hood of the car, and just randomly shot those cars that they drove past.

Meanwhile, inside the sedan, Dragon furrowed his brows when Fig suddenly drove away from them. He flinched back to reality when a thud came to the driver’s seat. Turning his head, he saw Heaven hitting the window with the back of her sword, forcing herself in.

"What is she doing?" he whispered, furrowing his brows, knowing this window was too thick for it to break so easily with a bullet, let alone by brute force. "Doesn’t she control this car? She could’ve just asked Joker to roll down the window..."

Dragon trailed off as his brows arched. "Hah... don’t tell me..." The corner of his stretched from ear to ear as he set his glowing eyes on the steering wheel. When he twisted the steering wheel, it moved.

"Hah..." he grinned. "I knew it. That woman is all talk. Too bad. I —"

"Stop it!" Suddenly, Hera jumped from behind and wrapped her arms around the seat and his neck. "I won’t let you!"

Dragon clenched his teeth and grabbed her arm, but alas, she held her arm in a way that even a grown man wouldn’t easily get free of.

"Dragon," Hera breathed out. "How dare you forget that I’m still here, huh?"

"Hera!" Dragon gasped for air as he slapped her arm, making the sedan move back close to Heaven. "You... dumb ... bitch!"

Hera clenched her teeth as she glanced at Heaven, keeping her grip tight. Heaven paused as she saw the situation inside, compelling her to continue what she was doing.

"Should I kill you?" Hera wondered under her breath, ignoring the nails sinking into her arms. "Fine. I’ll just kill you."

Dragon gasped for air once more, tapping her arm and listening to her voice. A sense of dread and panic waved down his spine just at her tone.

’She lost it,’ he thought, slipping a finger in between her arm and neck. ’As if I would...’

Using his other hand, Dragon reached for the lever on the side of his seat. When he felt it with his fingertips, he grabbed it and pulled it down. He kicked the steering wheel to force his seat to recline all the way down.

"Ah!" Hera squealed as she jumped back a little, taken off guard and losing her hold on him. When she raised her head, Dragon was already throwing his fist in her direction. She tilted to the side, dodging the punch timely.

"Hah!" she breathed out, slapping his arm away and throwing a punch in his face.

She hit him.

Hera froze as her breath hitched at the same time. She hit him, making his face toss to the side.

"You..." Dragon’s eyes blazed as his expression turned dark, looking back at her to reveal the cut on the side of his lips.

Hera couldn’t help but swallow the moment he locked eyes with her.

"Come here, you bitch!" Dragon shouted, reaching out and grabbing her hair. Hera lifted her arms to stop him, but he only grabbed her arm and pulled her to him. Using his other hand, he slapped her with all his might.

"You stupid bitch! Do you think you’re as scary as you were before?!" he exclaimed, smacking her head once more while Hera pressed his shoulder away. "How dare you... I’m no longer someone you can beat around whenever you want to!"

"Ah!" Hera squealed, which was abruptly halted when his hand landed on her head.

"If you want to die so badly, then you wait!" he roared, throwing her back aggressively. "I’ll kill you once I get out of here. No. I’ll make sure you’ll beg me to kill you once I get out of here. You’ll regret everything, Hera."

Hera coughed as she peeked at him, holding the side of her head as she felt dizzy. Dragon didn’t pull up his seat as he repositioned himself, ready to drive away. When she glanced at the window, Hera was still punching the window with the end of the sword handle.

’Why can’t she get in?’wondered Hera, before recalling Dragon’s remarks earlier.

Hera or Joker lost control of this car for an unknown reason.

’No!’ Hera panicked, holding on to the handle when their tires screeched once more. Dragon twisted the steering wheel against the escort car, pushing Heaven back inside the vehicle.

After forcing the escort car away, Dragon created a little distance from it to have more space. Hera’s eyes lit up, knowing she couldn’t let him have a little chance of turning things around.

"No!" she yelled once more, using every bit of strength to jump into the driver’s seat. She wrapped her arms around him from behind, pulling him back and making the car move closer to the escort car.

"Hera!" Dragon shrugged her off, but she clung to him as if her dear life was on it. He scratched at her arm but to no avail. Thus, using his other arm, he lifted it slightly and then swung his elbow back, hitting her side.

"Ugh!" Hera’s breath hitched as her grip around him loosened momentarily. However, she endured the pain and held onto him.

Dragon struggled to get rid of her, shouting and launching more elbow attacks at the person clinging to him from behind.

"Hera, I said..." he trailed off when he finally felt the breeze brush past him. His eyes went wide, turning his head to the car, and caught her fingertips pressing the button of the windows. "You —"

His breath hitched when a hand suddenly grabbed the window. Shifting his gaze, he went eye to eye with Heaven.

"Good job, Hera," Heaven smirked, looking at Dragon straight in the eye. "Hey, Frankenstein. Say your prayers."
