Chapter 950: Are they blind?
"Holy shit..." Primo gasped as he looked around from the driver’s seat, seeing some wrecked cars along the road. "This is a disaster."Primo thought more problems would occur once they drove away from the Dragon’s den. The mansion was mostly cleared, with Fig telling him to not kill those who were left alive. Although Primo argued that making sure Dragon’s "minions" were dead would not give them problems in the future. However, Fig argued Heaven left many of them alive for a reason.
Therefore, Primo didn’t argue. It wasn’t like those people would come after them; they didn’t have the capacity even if they wanted to considering their injuries.
"Wait." Primo blinked, turning his head to the driver’s seat.
There, in the driver’s seat, was Fig. The man could barely fit in the seat and the steering wheel almost touched his bulging stomach. Even though Primo wasn’t the one in that position, he felt uncomfortable — suffocated for him.
"Can you breathe?!" Primo breathed out, feeling a little out of breath, just looking at Fig. "Should I drive?"
"No, I’m fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Thank you."
Primo scrunched up his face and shrugged. "If you say so," he said, looking away from Fig and then back to the window. "Right. Back to my question. You said Heaven had been in the mansion, right?"
"Yes."
"I have this strange encounter inside." Primo massaged his temple as he recalled the gruesome sight that gave him a full mystery. "What weapon did she use?"
"Hmm?"
Primo cast Fig a curious look. "Was she using a gun?" he asked. "If she was, then we might have a problem."
"What problem?"
"Most of Dragon’s minions had these deep cuts in their body," he explained in a knowing tone. "I examined a few of them on the way out and from what I could tell, these cuts were deep but not fatal. More like it was deep enough to incapacitate them, but not kill them instantly. Though some of them died instantly, most of them were kept alive."
"So, my question is, what weapon did she use?" he continued. "If she used something like a sword, then I don’t think it’ll be a problem. At least, not right now. But if she didn’t, then whoever did that to those people is a big, big problem. Bigger than you. That only shows we have a very scary enemy."
Fig remained quiet as he listened to Primo’s explanation. Earlier, Primo briefly told him of the situation inside. To be exact, he only said, "Many of them were left to bleed out." Thus, he assumed Heaven simply let them off for a reason only she knew. But now that he mentioned the details inside the mansion, Fig’s expression turned stiff.
"A sword, huh?" Fig murmured. "She’s probably really angry."
"Huh?" Primo blinked. "So, are you saying that’s her?"
"Mhm." Fig rocked his head. "That’s her, for sure."
Primo gasped, hands on his chest. "That’s her doing?! Really!? Fuck?! Why does this still surprise me?" He had seen her drag a grown man out of the forest, infiltrate an enemy’s base when he was attacked, and even come out alive. Yet Heaven still never ceased to surprise him.
"Can you try contacting her?" Fig requested. "If she’s using a sword, she must be very angry. She might kill everyone and ruin her own plans."
"What?"
"My big sister always ruins her plans when she’s angry," Fig remarked calmly, but his eyes glowed with determination. "And she becomes an entirely different person. She might end up killing everyone and cutting off all leads that would lead us to everyone conspiring with Dragon. Not to mention, we still have almost zero knowledge of Dimitri’s full force."
His expression slowly darkened as he remembered a past terrible habit she had during her era. Back then, Hera, who was now in Heaven’s body, promised to catch the culprit who murdered her mother. When they caught a co-conspirator, Hera beat him up to a pulp.
Their plan at that time was to torture the man and get as much information as possible. However, even after Hera beat this traitor to the brink of death, her wrath wasn’t quenched. She used this sword her mother kept as a memento of her grandfather to that traitor.
She ended up killing him, which led to a long search for Feliz’s murderer.
Ever since then, everyone had grown aware that whenever she would use a sword, everyone knew she had taken the matter personally. Although it had become rare, it still worried them when it happened. Heaven was the scariest whenever she chose a close-combat weapon instead of a gun.
"Big sister?" Primo murmured, looking at Fig strangely. "Did you just call Heaven a big sister?"
Fig didn’t respond, so Primo just shrugged.
"Well, I might start calling her big sis after this too," he quipped, glancing at the terrible horror left on the road. He then pressed his earpiece. "Hey, everyone. Is anyone there? I think we’re lost."
Primo waited for anyone connected to the earpiece to respond, but nothing. "Hey, Heaven Liu, can you even hear me? Me and Fig are out of the mansion, trying to trace your tracks. Can you help us out of here?"
"Hey, Heaven Liu! Are you dead?!"
"Can you stop yelling? I can hear you — you never stopped talking."
Primo’s breath hitched when he finally heard Heaven’s voice from the other end of the line. "Oops. Sorry. I never thought you were actually listening. Anyway, we’re on the road now and wow, these scenes are straight out of an action film! Bravo! We should’ve filmed this —"
"Follow me." Primo stopped mid-sentence as Heaven spoke indifferently. "And Joker, are you done? Can you take charge now?"
"Hey! Wait! I’m almost — not yet, alright? Give me a moment! I’m almost there!"
Primo furrowed his brows as he listened to Heaven and Joker’s brief exchange. When they somehow agreed to something, the line suddenly went quiet.
"What the hell?" he murmured, only to turn his head when Fig raised a question.
"What did they say?"
"Well, let’s see." Primo rubbed his chin and pondered. "First, she said follow me. I’m not sure if she meant it for me or Joker. And then they both talked about something and that Joker needed a few minutes to get something done."
"I see."
"What?" Primo frowned. "It didn’t make sense to me. How did that make any sense to you?"
"When I infiltrated Dragon’s base the second time, I left something in one of the cars," Fig explained, keeping it short and simple. "It’s a device that Joker handed to me before he left to hide."
Primo blinked. "What’s that device for? I mean, you infiltrated his base twice?! How come no one saw you with how big you are?!"
"..."
"Are they dumb? Or maybe, blind?" Primo clicked his tongue and shook his head. When he snapped his eyes, he arched a brow and somehow caught a car from the other side of the road. "Huh?"
One of the cars spun around and went off tracks, crashing into a post. Primo squinted his eyes at the road opposite theirs, gasping when he saw Heaven crawling out of the driver’s seat of the sedan and jumping to the car in front of it.
"Oh, shit," he breathed out, making Fig glanced at the front passenger seat to see what Primo was looking. "I don’t know if I should be surprised at seeing her use the car’s roof as her runway, or the fact that she’s actually using a sword."
"We’ll follow them," Fig announced and before Primo could react, he suddenly made an abrupt turn, driving straight to the thin metal railings on the side of the road and off to the other lane to catch up to Heaven.
