Chapter 944: Show you what’s crazy

"Are you busy? If you are, then good. I’ll be occupied in a bit. Talk to you later. Love you."

Dragon clicked his tongue in irritation, considering Heaven’s action as mere mockery. How could she have the leisure to leave her husband a message? He assumed she was talking to her husband because who else would she talk to affectionately aside from Dominic Zhu?

"What a cheesy woman," he remarked in ridicule, looking back at the car after them. "And a two-faced."

"Well, at least, I don’t confine him in one place to monopolize him. Though I’m reconsidering faking his death so we could cuddle day and night."

Dragon hissed as he looked back at the driver’s seat. "Heaven Liu, continue getting on my nerves and I’ll assure you I’ll send your husband’s head to you before killing you."

Heaven went quiet this time, giving what Dragon wanted. However, hearing nothing from her in response, he swallowed the sudden tension that built up in his throat.

Why did she suddenly turn quiet?

"Frankie, threaten me with my life and I’m okay with that." After a prolonged silence, Heaven spoke. Her tone was calm, but somehow, the temperature in the vehicle dropped. "But don’t you dare mention my husband with that filthy mouth of yours. Even if I know it’s a pathetic threat to make yourself feel superior, be careful of what you say."

Her eyes remained on the road, but the corner of them sharpened. "Or you’d be surprised at how short my patience is when it involves my family."

Dragon opened his mouth but psychologically stopped from saying anything further. Arguing with her was pathetic. It would only make him feel in denial, a small little runt acting tough even when he was already at a disadvantage.

"Hera, buckle up," Heaven remarked without looking back. "I don’t care if that guy dies, but think about your safety."

"Oh." Hera cleared her throat and before she could think about anything else, her body started to move as instructed.

Dragon glanced at the submissive Hera, shaking off whatever ridiculous thoughts that were invading his mind. However, he couldn’t help it. The Hera he knew was the toughest cookie that even a hammer would be deemed useless. But now, Hera was submissively listening to this other woman.

That other woman, Heaven, on the other hand, reminded him of the version of Hera he equally hated and admired. Strong, daunting, and bold. If he didn’t know better, he would even mistake Heaven for Hera, and then Hera for someone else.

But that was ridiculous.

Were the drugs he kept injecting into Hera ruined her brain? That must be the reason, right? Even so, Dragon couldn’t fully convince himself that was the case. Why? Because the Hera he knew had been through hell and back hundreds of times — her willpower was stronger than your average extraordinary.

"Done," Hera announced, snapping her eyes to the driver’s seat. "I’m... okay now."

"Damn..." Heaven ran her tongue across her inner cheeks. "What a freaking weird thing to hear! What’s up with your tone?"

Hera pressed her lips into a thin line and slid her eyes down.

"Now, Dragon, why don’t you shoot yourself?" Heaven suggested, chuckling as she could feel the glare from her back.

"Do you want to die?"

"Nope. though I’m not scared of it." Heaven shook her head. "Buy me some time."

"Are you ordering me?"

"Are you dumb?"

"I’m going to do that even if you don’t tell me!" Dragon grumbled, in disbelief and irritated at this turn of events. It had been many years since someone ordered him around. Although Dane would sometimes sound like he was ordering him, he wasn’t as blatant as this woman.

"I’m going to kill you," he threatened as he looked back, adjusting his position. But just as he did, he was suddenly thrown to the side as Heaven abruptly switched lanes. "Ugh! Are you fucking with me?"

"They were shooting," was all Heaven replied. "What do you want me to do? Let them shoot the tires?"

"You’re doing this on purpose."

The corner of Heaven’s lips curled up before she denied it. "I’m not."

"You!"

"If you don’t believe me, then I’ll stop." Heaven’s lips stretched from ear to ear as her eyes glowed maliciously. The second those words rolled out of her tongue, she stepped on the brake, making the tires screech.

Hera and Dragon were forced to lean forward, making Hera clasp on the handle.

"What the hell are you doing?" Dragon roared as their vehicle came to a full stop. "Why did you stop?!"

He looked back in panic, only to see the car approaching closer. "Shit!" he growled, but then, heard Heaven’s cold voice from the driver’s seat.

"Weren’t you complaining about my driving?" Heaven remarked, hands on the driver’s seat, eyes on the side mirror. "Now that we’re not moving, you won’t be tossed around. Isn’t that what you want?"

"You crazy bitch!"

Heaven laughed as she glanced over her shoulder. "You call this crazy? Hah." She looked away, grinning like the devil. "No, Frankenstein. You’re wrong. This isn’t crazy yet. Let me show you what’s real crazy is."

As soon as that sentence rolled out of her tongue, Heaven suddenly stepped on the pedal. She stomped on it, moving forward to create distance from the approaching vehicle behind. This time, Hera and Dragon were forced back while Hera was clasping the handle above the door and the seat in front of her tightly.

Dragon, who wasn’t on any safety measures, had to cling to wherever he could hold on to. He pulled back when their car suddenly stopped after a minute of speeding, only to hear the tires screeching as they began to drive in reverse.

His eyes dilated as he stared blankly at the driver’s seat. He couldn’t even speak any longer as he instinctively looked back, now confused if the car was catching up or if it was because Heaven was driving in reverse.

"Don’t get me wrong. It’s true that right now, I’m protecting you." Heaven suddenly made a drift before the car’s rear hit the other vehicle. They spun on the road a couple of times, disorienting even the cars that were after them as they drove off the road or crashed into each other as the other car stopped.

After a moment, Heaven drew a deep breath as she gazed at the multiple cars that were left safe.

"But," she continued under her breath, her hand on the lever and the other on the steering wheel. "That doesn’t mean I like protecting you, Frankie. If there’s something I would like to do with you, that is to hurt you."

With that being said, Heaven stepped on the pedal and drove at the cars in front of them. Hera squealed at the force inside the vehicle while Dragon clung to the handle above the door. When Heaven made another turn, Dragon hit his side against the door. Without any safety measures, he kept bumping his side, his head, and even his back. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say he was practically bouncing in every corner.

Surely, stopping the vehicle during a chase wasn’t the craziest part.

Now, Heaven definitely made her point across. She was crazy — unhinged — beyond repair. That wasn’t only made clear to Dragon and Hera, but also to the people who were initially chasing them but were now being chased by this maniac.
